This is so very useful! Just reading a build guide just leaves me with a lot of questions. Now in addition to what I should pick I understand why I'm picking it. Thank you!
Thank you for the guide! Very informative and beginner friendly! This is hands down the best Templar tank guide that really put me as the POV of the tank! Keep up the good work my man! You just got a new subscriber!
Dudeee, absolutely insane SNS/wand build! I'm not very geared on my alt, but I got that same wand so I figured I'd try a wand tank build to give tanking a try. I tried several and this hands down is the best! I was able to solo tank way more than sns/gs as well lol My test was pulling half the room on Syleus's Abyss 3F. With all the stuns they do and constantly aggro-ing more mobs I'd die before killing them all. With this build, I was able to keep myself alive, dps them all down, and keep my mana up enough to keep going! Great video, well put together, and thanks for going into great detail about the abilities and synergies! Gained a sub from me just for that xD
Great video. Coming from being a tank in most games, I've super struggled managing aggro and the like in this game, but your build has made my life quite a bit easier.
Absolutely amazing build, you just got a new sub. Was trying to find a single target boss and an aoe build and this covers it. thank you so much for actually explaining this stuff.
New player here and I have tried many builds. I always run out of mana after the second skill rotation especially the more dps focused ones, so usually even the best builds won't be able to be of any good longterm. With your build so far i rarely run out of mana and it gives you sustainable performance in all scenarios.
Nice breakdown for the build so im interested in trying this out. Alot of people use the Curse Bomb method of dealing AOE dmg but this combo with A Shot at Victory and Ray of Disaster looks like fun.
You certainly can if you like it, decent aoe damage, but I find the cast time a little slower and clunkier and tend not to like it. The damage buff for sword skills (which buffs mainly your shield strike and counter barrier hits) is applied to yourself not a debuff applied to hit targets so it's just the raw damage of the aoe skill you are gaining, which is a bit, but I just prefer the specs somewhere else for survivability. If you have less focus on healing and want some more aoe dmg you can definitely take it.
Hi, thanks for the great video, bit confused on the stats parts as I've seen some other SnS/Wand builds/guides and seeing them going into Perception 1st and Strength 2nd, what is the difference in this case if I go Strength / Wisdom?
Perception 30 and perception 60 (with high gear/items) are vital for PvP for hit chance and CC chances. In PvE you just really don't need perception, wisdom is better for mana sustain and cooldown speed. This is a PvE guide, therefore take Wisdom not perception
Amazing Video Thank you!! This Build is exactly how i wanted to play! Just curious what traits should we we focus on upgrading as we go through? I know you said Crit and Heavy attack on weapons. then M ax HP and regen for the armor but what would you say is the priority?

I like how you think, i watched your Pve tank build iand really liked it, i though and now combine it with the wand an do even more damage while course . and now you also combine it :-)
It's perfectly good and you could swap out the invincible wall but you kinda want to run it with magic circle too so we just don't really have enough skill slots without losing some healing or utility.
Haven't really felt it being too impactful, though I don't really ever solo farm because it's soo much quicker in a group and no reason not to really. You can definitely heal and tank as this though
hello thank you for this video is this build really great I will try it, too bad the build is not on site with this superb build, thank you and continue you delight us google translation
Just started to play, i was looking for a tanking/support build and this one is great, plus you basically explain everything, may i ask though do you think it would be a viable build for pvp content like guild wars and stuff like that?
Yeah I noticed people doing that - not sure why the game literally tells you what the Archetype is when you equip the weapons - I thinks it's just people nicknaming builds like they often do for games not realising there is actual official named archetypes in the game ahah oh well
@@WilstormGaming is because apparently back in the korean version it was called paladin until they changed the name to templar when it released in the west Some koreans are still calling it paladin
Just FYI, I have tried provoking roar with dots and spectrum of agony. It does not work. Agony only counts applications not tics from dots. I have tried this with your curses and ray of disaster.
Ray of disaster ticks 12 times in 6 seconds and works. Dots do not as you've realised, but I never said they did (I don't think). Dots are there for passive damage and the passive healing from vampiric
nice concise build guide, i was getting confused about how to use sword and wand together, is there a build that is less healing and more damage output/ self survival for if u have a dedicated healer in the party?
You really don't have access to much more damage anyway. You can swap out the Invincible Wall and Swift heal for the corrupted magic circle and curse explosion to get some more wand curse damage. But keep the two AOE heals as they are great to help the party out.
lovely video...but as you sayd: if you are a tank but horrible damage... How do you mentain Boss aggro on you? specialy when players will get better gear and way more damage... they will take the aggro from you in an instant? And Second: why you not maxing out Corrupted magic Circle and Curse explosion for the bomb/dot combo? That would be more damage for u right? or you lose skills from shield by learning the bomb dot combo.
If you want to focus on doing more damage and less healing you could take magic circle and curse explosion but you are losing healing or utility and will struggle to tanka and heal solo. You could get a bit more damage but sacrifice healing of course depending how you want to play
As for aggro, I've never had an issue with boss aggro. Provoking Roar forces monsters to attack you and ray of disaster will extend it out for 10-15 seconds easily with auto attacks. You should never lose threat on a single boss kinda regardless of your damage
@@WilstormGaming What's the reasoning behind Ray of Disaster instead of Time for Punishment, seems like a great debuff that the whole party can take advantage of? Hey first of all amazing video and great explainations i was looking excactly for this typ of build! i have 2 questions. 1. Does Strategic rush count as stun on the boss? i heared some bosses require stuns and if strategic rush doesnt stun them what interrupt spell can we use instead? 2. How can i target specific player in my party with swift healing?
Thank you glad you liked the video. 1. I haven't encountered any dungeon bosses that require stuns, usually boss enemies are always immune to stun/CC. This is why strategic rush gives you dmg instead. This shouldn't be an issue in PVE content I don't think. 2. Entirely depends how you play and have keybindings set for example do you play action or camera mode. I play in action mod so I don't click the screen with my mouse I use keybind shortcuts - for me I use the party targeting options so CTRL+1 targets party members 1, CTRL+4 targets party member 4 and so on. This only works if you are comfy with lots of keybings in MMOs like I am. You will have to test what works for you some people like to click with their mouse
@@WilstormGaming One example that comes to mind is Arbiter miniboss in Death's Abyss dungeon. My personal experience was that all parties expect tank to cc the miniboss and I was literally kicked from a party for failing to do that as a SnS/Wand tank. The only skill that comes to mind that could achieve that in your build is strategic rush, but it's a bit unreliable as it is a skillshot that also requires opponent to be close to a wall, so it's not always possible to pull off when you need to interrupt an opponent. I'm still quite new to the game so I haven't tried out all the skills extensively, but maybe Fierce Clash from SnS skills could do the trick?
If you need CC (crowd control) for enemies such as the mini-bosses in Death's Abyss, the following four work: Chain Hook, Strategic Rush, Fierce Clash, and Cursed Nightmare (with Enhanced Nightmare spec for insta sleep). Stuns are a specific type of CC and for SnS they count as a stun only if they're hit against a wall (which normally you can't do on final bosses)
@@UrbanVarsek Problem with the gamification of bosses in all modern MMOs give me a good tank and spank with some blocking dodging that is more realistic than these mini games.
I actually tried bow extensively first, I really wanted the warden archetype to work it's cool as. It's good but not quite as strong as wand. I couldn't solo heal as easily and as soon as it got a bit overwhelming I couldn't keep up. Definitely would work as a support tank though still with a dedicated healer.
Is there a way for this build to do good AOE dmg if they want to do some xp grinding outside of questing? Or gear grinding? I’m new to the game but I believe that this game really focuses on questing for xp anyway. Still curious about if I can do some decent aoe dmg just out of curiosity.
Yes at the loss of healing. You could replace Invincible Wall and maybe Clays salvation with corrupted Magic circle and curse explosion for better aoe damage in open world. You'll still have fountain and Swift heal to keep yourself alive.
Is there anyway for this combo to go dps but not curse focused (not a fan of wand offense)? crit build or something? i understand def and survivability would be sacrificed. atleast like a gs/wand combo
Smart healing. Vampiric contract only heals someone else if i target them, it doeasnt auto target lowest hp party memeber. Am i doing something wrong or is there a setting in options i need? Im on console/controller incase it matters.
@@WilstormGaming yes, that build was even without chain hook, and well, i can accept build without that but its not optimal, yet no strategic rush is a drama. Well i used to play GS/SNS and yesterday was like lets swap GS on SNS and i must say it was a terrible mistake, sure i have healing but with GS i was much much more tanky. Now i'm not that tanky, sure its great support on dungs, couse u have healer and also extra healer/tank yet solo gameplay, contracts are terrible, no DMG, curses do funny dmg. Love the feeling of support to the team, it can do carry in dungs, but i think GS/SNS is much much better
@@DawnaSila The benefit IMO is not needing a healer and to be able to run with 5 DPS. I've been running dungeons as a templar with no other healer and have been absolutely fine so far. As for solo/contracts I've been running this build with absolutely no issues th-cam.com/video/kyAlRKFcR7Q/w-d-xo.html Obviously without expecting to outdamage a DPS
@@DawnaSila I haven't found it THAT hard? Although I've only done three of the dungeons. I always throw Fountain of Life at my feet, and use Clay Salvation if a few people need heals and Saint's Oath as needed. Of course you need competent enough DPS that don't get hit by everything under the sun xD
Im oretty postive pve mobs do skill power attacks, i only reason this because once i out that passive on and lvled it a little bit my healing absolutely shoots up after taking a few hits in comparison without the passive
Hahah definitely a love-hate relationship. We all want matchmaking functions in games so we can play solo but then we complain that they are less organised than guild groups haha (me included)
I'm new to the game. How come you don't need perception even though it gives hit chance? Is that more of a pvp stat? Do mobs/bosses not have dodge chance or something?
Hard to die but slow damage. I don't use it for dailies/contracts because it's a bit slow, but you can still burn down aoe packs with Provoke + Ray + Barrier
I'm getting to PvP as soon as I can haha I'm starting with PvE because that's how most people are gearing up. I'm only a small casual channel so it takes me a bit longer than all the full-time content creators sorry
Call me a old WoW fool but this is a tank build. As a tank, youre supposed to tank and not worry about DPS though healing could be the same but it seems more worthwhile
I expect this class will be extremely strong in PvP - unkillable tanky support and control. But NOT in this setup this is for PvE, PvP would be considerably different.
Last question I'm technically copying your full build and everything good 👍 on dungeons and parties but when I have to do daily missions farm monsters or contracts ...it's Soo slow...I can't kill fast .... And contracts and missions take too long..... What other weapon or class do you suggest I can use to farm that can use most of the gear etc
@vcroxparabeiium8616 Yes wand will be too slow for open world. Basically swap the wand out for greatsword and use the technique in my aoe build that is on my channel from about 8 days ago.
@@vcroxparabeiium8616 my friend has a wand build and for pvp his dot damage does 12k+ and his explosion does 25k lol its nasty in pvp nothing you can do against him😂
Bro im gonna be honest ive been playing this and i dont take but 3 offensive skills. I dont die unless i want to. Dont run out of mana And also deal 0 damage xD. Its great in dungeons specifically
I am completely free to play and absolutely loving it. It just feels like a very standard gear grind you have in every MMO, which to me is the reason for playing. Maybe a tad slower gearing process than modern WoW but nothing out of the ordinary. Pay to skip (more appropriately) exists but it doesn't have any impost on most players unless you wanted to be winning arenas in week 1. I play on a predominantly Japan/Aus/NZ server though so maybe it's less pronounced

I use this for open world contract farming th-cam.com/video/kyAlRKFcR7Q/w-d-xo.html
wher to farm for that Tome wepon?
You can pick it from the Abyssal Currency x 40 reward box
Is there anyway for this combo to go dps but not curse focused (not a fan of wand offense)? crit build or something? i understand def and survivability would be sacrificed. atleast like a gs/wand combo
damn never been sold harder on a build
Haha glad you like it, not even trying to 'sell you' or anything just giving options to other players
Smart healing. Vampiric contract only heals someone else if i target them, it doeasnt auto target lowest hp party memeber. Am i doing something wrong or is there a setting in options i need? Im on console/controller incase it matters.
I am not sure but now when you say it, I rarly see any small constant healing numbers on my team members
Can we make it more Tanky, and less as a healer? 🤔
Thank you! I used one on the maxroll and it makes no sense, tank without a stun
Hahah the thought of tanking coop/abyssal dungeons without strategic rush AND chain hook is crazy to me. Both so important for enemy and mob control
As for solo/contracts I've been running this build with absolutely no issues th-cam.com/video/kyAlRKFcR7Q/w-d-xo.html
Obviously without expecting to outdamage a DPS
@@slevker I also started to use this build for solo its awesome. Beeing tank and healer on dungs is crazy hard
Im oretty postive pve mobs do skill power attacks, i only reason this because once i out that passive on and lvled it a little bit my healing absolutely shoots up after taking a few hits in comparison without the passive
i wanna try this build. is this also good for holding boss' aggro until the end?
Do i upgrade skills and passives to purple?
Yes
@@WilstormGaming thanks! do you have recommendations on which to upgrade first and the next ones?
Can you do SnS/dagger tank?
Pug group life, it gives me a challenge that I sometimes regret😂
Hahah definitely a love-hate relationship. We all want matchmaking functions in games so we can play solo but then we complain that they are less organised than guild groups haha (me included)
what beginner alternatif for equipment? im still lvl 22
Don't worry about gear while leveling, just take whatever upgrades you get
so shoul i upgrade green weapon to max level? or i should create a blue one with 4 green weapon instead?
hows aggro control? since low damage did you feel like you'd lose aggro?
Wasn't a noticeable issue. Piercing strike aoe cone and provoking was usually enough to do the job.
@@WilstormGaming thats what i love to hear. I enjoy the paladin playstyle. didnt wanna respec into sns/gs so im def gonna try this out
I'm new to the game. How come you don't need perception even though it gives hit chance? Is that more of a pvp stat? Do mobs/bosses not have dodge chance or something?
Hit and evasion and all the trait stats become far more relevant for PvP. PvE it doesn't matter too much
@@WilstormGaming so you basically never need it for pve? Or just not much? Also, thanks for the reply to my first question bud, greatly appreciate it
this build enough to main heal or its just an off healer
In un dungeon consiglieresti di usarlo tank o healer?
What about mastery?
As a sns/wand user, I can't imagine pugging with 80% of the healers
do you use something else for open world or is that build good for both open world and bossing
Nah it's very slow for open world. Use the aoe build on my channel about 8 days ago for open world
how's the solo pve on this?
Hard to die but slow damage. I don't use it for dailies/contracts because it's a bit slow, but you can still burn down aoe packs with Provoke + Ray + Barrier
i do not understand the stat points
Can we get pvp build too please!!!!! ❤
I'm getting to PvP as soon as I can haha I'm starting with PvE because that's how most people are gearing up. I'm only a small casual channel so it takes me a bit longer than all the full-time content creators sorry
@@WilstormGaming no problems Im supporting you! Good stuff I enjoyed it!
I use this but as a support or healer like a cleric build i like it u dont have to be a tank with a sns xD
Call me a old WoW fool but this is a tank build.
As a tank, youre supposed to tank and not worry about DPS though healing could be the same but it seems more worthwhile
When PVP guide? Or this class is bad for pvp?
Dont run out of mana
And also deal 0 damage xD. Its great in dungeons specifically
no discord no twitch no nothing ?
Nah I'm just a very small, casual channel at the moment. Just your standard gaming nerd who enjoys buildcrafting and stats. Maybe one day haha
lol mate , i think u dont know how big u r and how bigger u will become one day | make any contact way so we can chat with u for real please :D
Templar will hold no aggro on bosses with players that have experience.
Someone be real with me. Is the a p2w? Or is the game good enough to not worry about it?
It’s p2w but if you fin the right server, you can still enjoy the grind
@@SethWinham-xf9pr ty
I am completely free to play and absolutely loving it. It just feels like a very standard gear grind you have in every MMO, which to me is the reason for playing. Maybe a tad slower gearing process than modern WoW but nothing out of the ordinary. Pay to skip (more appropriately) exists but it doesn't have any impost on most players unless you wanted to be winning arenas in week 1. I play on a predominantly Japan/Aus/NZ server though so maybe it's less pronounced
really hope u gonna make a discord server or put any contect so we can chat with u :D
Subbed great video
took this build, thx
Hello friend, I liked this set very much since I started playing the game and I am still playing it. If you have made any improvements to this set, can you share them?
Is there a website where you upload your items and skills? Like maxroll or questlog?
