- The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks is one of the last Zelda games I have yet to complete! A lot of you told me to play this one since it's much better than Phantom Hourglass, so let's see how it holds up in my Spirit Tracks review.

All Aboard for an Amazing New AdventureThe Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks sets hero Link on a daring new adventure. The game provides players with a new story, more puzzles and even a new mode of transportation. In this game, Link voyages by train, which offers up new possibilities for problem-solving. The game has the same look and feel established in the hit Nintendo DS game The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

Hello Legends!
Absolutely
Ladies and Gentlemen, guys and gals
Stalkers
Hello, you absolute legend!
@@Sweetrad what?
You haven't had real fun with trains until you suplex one.
Nice ff6 reference
Sabin moment
If you aren't suplexing trains you just aren't living
“I like trains!” Now I am interested.
You've ruined a meme

My forever pick for most underrated Zelda title. I so badly wanted to be a train conductor as a young child, and deeply enjoyed the mechanics, and especially the side quests to this game. So fun seeing you complete it!
My favorite small detail from this game: once you reach top cruising speed, the train's engine noises will align themselves with the overworld theme and become the percussion.
This game is special for me. It was the first Zelda game I ever finished, and I played it a lot growing up. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it overall. Also, while you are on the train for a majority of the game, at least you have one of the best overworld music tracks in gaming.
Yes!!! So glad you are covering this
this is single handedly my favorite zelda game. I know that is a hot take, but I will be watching this entire series.
I played Spirit Tracks like a year ago and really enjoyed seeing Link and Zelda travel together.
I hope we get another Zelda game like that because it's such a great concept!
Honest to god the most underrated Zelda game ever, good story, pretty fun and funny, and Link and Zelda are so cute together! I have a lot of fond memories with this game. 💚
My favorite train from gaming has to be Spinne from Einhander! Such a great concept and design! And i love how it's teased in silhouette at the start of the level, plus it IS the level, and it's the level's boss fight.
"I choo choo choose you" and there is a picture of a train. Best valentine card ever
So... Do you like?.. Stuff?
(Fair warning Don't use this as a pick up line on non Simpson fans unless your willing to back up what kind of "stuff") { ಠ_ಠ } *shudders*
if you look closely you can pinpoint the moment his heart breaks in half. aaaaaaaaand now!
Does ChargeMan count? He's a train, and I get a slick slide attack from him...😂
Certified *HeroOfTrains* moment
I personally thought that getting the train conductor costume from the intro was a nice nostalgic reward.
This overworld theme lives rent free in my head!
Is this game any good on the wii u or should i just play it on my 3ds?
I played it fairly recently on Wii U, it’s not too bad
Spirit Tracks is such a criminally underrated title. I almost never hear anyone talking about it. Thank you for talking about it, The Completionist.
It is a good Zelda title.
I'm kind of surprised he didn't talk about the optional boss rush with the shadow link battle
FINNALLY!!!!
I'v been waiting 3000 Centuries for this!!!!
Thank You!!!!
Shout-out to everyone who struggled with the sand sanctuary back then
It's a great Zelda game to play casually. I love this game when ever I need a nice relaxing game to just play some objectives with some relaxing music to jam to while driving the train from point A to B. It was the first time I actually connected with Zelda as a character, and I'm so glad they did her more justice in Breathe of the Wild after that. Just take this game at your own pace and don't do the rabbit catching or soldier training if you want to preserve your sanity.
I’m a locomotive engineer by profession… they did a good job on the train mechanic and the game is fun 🍻
either a bot or a really dumb person
I actually loved the train transport quests and really hoped there was more of those.
The main thing keeping me back from enjoying this game again is the flute ...
Awesome review, can't wait to ride along the tracks with Link in this one. As for my favorite train, well I got 3 and 2 of them are transformers. Astro train from G1, Omega Supreme from Energon, and the Super Train Megazord from Light Speed rescue
This was the first Zelda game I ever played and I mostly remember being absolutely terrified of the evil trains😂
I lived in Japan when Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks came out. Capsule machines in grocery stores sold full pen-size Zelda styluses that had a dangling shield that could be used to clean the screen. This made both games really fun and easy to play. These days, I use Twilight Menu+++ to play both games with the Circle Pad on my 3DS.
First ever Zelda game as a kid, will always be in my top 5 Zelda games. It might not hold up super well now, but it’s still fun to play through every now and then
This game was so much fun... for me not my ds touchscreen.
Out of all of the Zelda games this game seriously frustrated me having to use the touch screen for so much and is the only Zelda game I haven’t completed.
You had me at trains.
My favourite fictional train is the train of thought. LOL
Shark boy and Lava girl mentioned!
Always good to see more DS Games. Even if it is just Zelda Pokemon Mario or Kirby again.
Another game where Zelda plays a major role, or even becomes playable would be much appreciated!
Then it wouldn't be legend of Zelda. Zelda is the historian of the games, she passes the legend onto the next link with each iteration.
@@zachrion Both wrong and...I guess you are saying that this game is not a Zelda game.
IMO the most underrated game in the series
loved this game, didnt love the bomb trains that chase you
13:23 - "Get back here rabbit. In my world we follow the laws of physics!"
My favorite train is the hype train
Beating this game takes a lot of
Train-ing
I like how Link has a crush on Zelda in this game.
In Phantom Hourglass, we are transported by ship.
In Spirit Tracks, we are transported by trains.
In Breath of the Wild, we are transported by glider.
In Tears of the Kingdom, we are transported by whatever we can make.
So sea, land, air, and your imagination!
@@Boomshockalocka007 That’s a good one!
In The Completionist, we are transported by scams.

This made me want to go replay Spirit Tracks.
And really the other Toon Link games
I just got access to this game! Looking forward to it. At some point. I probably have 20 games ahead of it in line at the moment…but it’s there for when it’s time!
My favorite fictional train is the one that Doc Brown has at the end of "Back to the Future Part 3". It's wonderful.
My favorite Link, the Hero of Public Transportation.
I wish they'd remake these games. They're dying for it.
Not sure how they would replicate the controls.
My thoughts exactly! Just like WW and TP, they shouldn't be left behind on an old system! Plus there's plenty they could do with em. From revamping the visuals and controls to some QoL changes like maybe a warp at each section of the Temple of the Ocean King? (I actually think that temple is grossly overhated and very solid for what it was going for.) 😉
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596Mm, easy enough to imagine movement and sword swinging remapped to stick and button, and a remake allows for many things to be retooled for traditional controls.
@@Longma1 There are mods for d-pad movement and buttons for sword swinging but there is still stylus usage.
I never could get into this era of zelda, but I can at least see the appeal.
I have this game but I never finished, but I do the phantom hourglass which is my childhood I beat this game so many time I love it so much
Favorite fictional train? Doom Train, both as a Boss you can Suplex in FF6, and as a summon in FF8.
one of the few zelda games I have yet to play, need to get around to it soon
Link: Hero of Train
Playing as a kid i remember the train being the coolest part
I was literally playing this earlier on the new delta emulator, it’s one of my favorite Zelda games.
“I like trains!” i feel like we missed the asdf meme
Honestly I thought spirit tracks was very interesting. Definitely explored and tested a lot of things
I remember playing this game! I never was able to beat as I ALWAYS got stuck in the fire temple, since my ds mic didn't work well. Finally I get to see what happens
Only the true ones know the meaning of I like trains
I wish this game would get a huge remake/reimagining because it is so good and it is a big tragedy that it is stuck so to speak on the DS
Seeing this game is seeing a memory unearthed in my mind oh my goodness 😅
I remember this game fondly, trains are cool
The alternative trains changes what your whistle sounds like.
I don't recall them all but the gold one made your whistle have a sparkling noise with it and the skeleton made it sound like a type of synth it's more than likely not a synth but that's what comes to mind.
I remember this game good times
Hero of trains
Choo choo
At this point the only Zelda games left for him to complete 100% are Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Zelda’s Adventure, Four Swords Adventures as well as Tears of the Kingdom.
Oh my god I love this game. Such a huge improvement from phantom hourglass.
the mail man is so hilarious.... man i should play this game again
I got halfway through Phantom Hourglass on the original hardware, partway through Spirit Tracks on Wii U virtual console.
A Link Between Worlds on 3DS was such a great improvement for portable gaming in the series.
Favorite train: AstroTrain from Transformers
The toy for Astrotrain was so cool, too. Having three forms for a Transformer is an engineering marvel.
The train from the Dark Tower book series!
You didn’t mention the mic blowing flute. The instruments in Zelda are usually so important.
The game would have been really great if that thing wouldn't glitch out on me, like the last or second to last it was so hard to use
My only issue is during the last song, where the koyes arent roght mext to each other. On a sensitive mic thats really hard to time for a kid
He's forgetfull with a lot of things 😅
Best Fullmetal Alchemist game.
This game would be so much better if they halved the number of items for each train part
Wait, but what happens when you finish the guard mini game?? Its literally the only thing i never finished
The other guards will basically worship you and call you captain
I do like those trains OG Thomas the best and Spirit Tracks was a fun time but I do remember the train gameplay and side quests taking a longer time.
...I really wonder if these games should get a remake on Switch (or the successor), maybe with that they could fix some of the problems they had. (for me, in Spirit Tracks...THAT DAMN FLUTE...)
I still need to play this game, but I also wish Toon Link would get another game.
Favourite fictional train has to be Thomas but shoutout to Astrotrain from Transformers
I like Trains.
(BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR)
Spirit tracks is the game with tracks and spirits
I was randomly playing this a few days ago to look at my old save from 2012
I couldn't get past the touchscreen controls.. but maybe I'll try it again.
I think I like the Rail Zeppelin in the Natsuverse. Put very simply it's a magical train where you can acquire very unique goods so long as your willing to buy/trade for them.
Callback to Tomska Asdf I LIKE TRAINS
I would like to see this and Phantom Hourglass have an enhanced, touchscreen-free port at some point. Not because they're particularly great, but even a lackluster Zelda game is still a pretty good game.
I could be a perfect mobile port honestly.
I enjoyed my time with phantom hourglass and spirit tracks. I would’ve rather had a mainstream wind waker sequel, but these weren’t bad at all
Really one of my favorite Zelda games.
I loved this game so much as a kid
Favorite fictional train is the mecha from ToQger. That counts, right?
The Phantom Train from FF6 that Sabin can suplex is the truest videogame train legend
I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows about ToQuger.
Oh dear god. The legendary Train Boner (if you don't understand it, just watch ToQger. That moment made me feel like it was Japan's way of saying "localize this, suckers").
@@rocklee325 Well if it wasn't this it was gonna be DenLiner.
Ahhh this came out right when im replaying this game, perfect!
So the mailman and the moves…I used to call it “proud Mary” coz of Tina turner “big wheels keep on turning…”
I like the score for the DS Zelda games.
Best way to describe that movement would have been locomotion.
I especially appreciate this game since it has a somewhat playable Zelda with somewhat unique gameplay. It's probably my favorite in the adult timeline and WW is second, given, only 3 games in that timeline.
I would love a console sequel to this game: a fully open world game that plays like wind waker but takes place in new hyrule
I’ve been playing this for the last week almost done with it! Crazy out of all games you decided on this one I’m playing phantom hourglass next
Game is super underrated
I love the existence of the train in thousand year door. If that counts
Wait where?
My favourite of the DS Zelda's!! 😁🚂🗡️
I did the Captain Trial. It took... a while. And my train is DenLiner from Kamen Rider Den-O.
i love ST
but i know it's not for everyone
however i never called this link the hero of trains
i've always thought of him as the hero of spirits.
the lokomo, the phantoms, ZELDA. even the names of the tracks themselves are the spirit tracks. i always thought he was the hero of spirits. i'l have to see if the hyrule historia gives a definitive answer
