Interesting route for a small aircraft as alternatives are few and far between. Once had a missed approach onboard CS B738 into Majuro, coming from HNL due to torrential rain. It's a 4hr flight with only Johnston in between. We were holding for about 40min and closes alternative Kwajalein is 45min away. I started to wonder how much reserve fuel was left. With an aircraft like that with much shorter range and speed I would feel a bit uncomfortable flying in that part of the world. What was the route and aircraft you flew?
@@hallian98 Sounds like quite an adventure. You then prolly flew the Island hopper route, as in MAJ, KWA, KSA, PNI, TKK, GUM? Were you allowed to land at KWA? Can you dssignate PMDY or PWAK as alternatives?
@@hallian98 last time i was in chuuk(truk) was in 72 ? 73 ?. Good fun back then as the pilots would still give a tour of the wrecks with the masts sticking out of the water. The masts are gone now. As a kid i lived in chuuk for a few years and then on to yap. This was in the 50s.
i live their i was born their and i want to tell whoever is reading this, a story it is about me and my family i still miss that place i miss everything,Once there was a little baby still one month old that lived in a weird island caled chuuk(micronisia) she would just lay there all morning just staring out the window listining to the calm ocean and the people talking (wich probably meanns they spoke in their language) .And one more thing her name was (her full name was)Kimenany Xylene Walter(1st name kim.e.non.ee 2nd name sy.lee.ne) born and raised in Micronisia just how it sounds but at the age of three she moved to idaho and lived with her uncle, Gibson he was a lovely kind man everything she told and wished would come true but when she turned four another year lqter came and then poof her uncle was already fourty and died her mom went to micronesia to see his grave and pray for him and our family but it was only the two the father and daughter her heart felt as if everything she wished and was going to tell him disapeard by the tim it reached 2017 she was 9yrs old and could still remember that day 2012 june 2 .😢😥 i cant help but crying whenever i tell other people bye

Jack, we were flying a dehavilland DHC-6 Twin otter from Calgary- Oregon-Hawaii-Marshall Islands- Micronesia- Indonesia.

Thats the newer airport. The old one next to the mountain was a hoot. Had to buzz it to get the kids and animals off the runway. The good ole days.
