    Is there a video that demonstrates how to change the location of the insert? In the manual online, it talks about the lights in green and blue for A-D. I am not sure if this means the insert point is before or after the light that is lit. Many thanks.

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The insert can be any position from 1-8 out of the 9 total loops. Normally it's in position 5, so the first green light. Just start counting at the first pair of loop jacks and follow that along. Thanks!

    Is there a way to engage non-midi pedals in a loop and send midi messages to one or more midi pedals simultaneously? For example, if I want to engage another overdrive and change the preset on my delay and reverb pedals, can I do that at the same time or do those actions have to be performed separately?

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The MIDI and loop settings are all recalled when you load a preset. If you've got MIDI mode enabled, use it to select presets on your device(s) and then go to the blue/green manual mode and turn on your loops. Save that preset. When you load that preset the next time, the DPC will recall your loops and MIDI settings all in one go.

    I am currently using the Fractal Axe FX 3 with an FC-12 controller. The FX-3 has MIDI in, out, and through. The FC-12 does not have any 5 or 7 pin MIDI ports, but all MIDI is configured inside the Axe FX 3 anyway, so it's not an issue: I can trigger external devices and amplifiers simply by going MIDI out from the Axe FX and to the MIDI inputs on my Diezel, Egnater MICA, etc. So, here's the question: I need to run an effects loop switcher as a slave via the MIDI out on the Fractal. Will the DPC 8EZ both save PC settings and also pass-through MIDI PC info downstream? Example: Guitar running through racked pedals all looped in via the DPC, and then audio into the Fractal, with MIDI out from the Axe-3 (as programmed and triggered via the Fractal FC-12) going to the DPC via Axe FX MIDI out. As such, will the MIDI out from the DPC then send the PC info as a passthrough to other MIDI rack gear downstream, to MIDI capable amplifiers, etc.?
    Thanks--DC

      The DPC-8EZ passes any MIDI data it receives through, and will merge its own messages into that stream. So yes this should work great. Need anything else? Please feel free to email through the site!

    • @matthewfarrow8151
      @matthewfarrow8151 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you tap the left-most button to control loops 5-8. The idea is that you set up presets that change all of your loops at once - otherwise it's just faster to tap-dance. Same goes for any other loop switcher, the real time saver is preset loop combinations.

      Anything is overkill compared to using your foot to switch them! But at the end of the day it's about what's convenient for you. This unit takes up less space than most 8-loop switchers and has a very simple user interface, so it would probably work great for your application.

    Question: If I move the insert loop to loop 3 do I still have 8 usable loops or did I lose one?

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll still have 4 usable loops. The normal location for the insert (between 4 and 5) will become a normal loop. 3 will be the insert, "4" will now be loop 3, "insert" will be loop 4, and so on. If you do move the insert it's really helpful to swap the jacks over so you can visually identify it later!

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The DPC-8EZ is really designed as an accessory device, to add loops to your current MIDI controller. We make plenty of controllers that can handle more than three MIDI devices, and in the case of most stereo devices we recommend using MIDI to bypass them instead of putting them in loops on a switcher. MIDI bypass allows you to maintain trails and spillover. We haven't ruled out stereo loops in future products though!

      Stereo Link assigns half the loops to "left" and half to "right." You might be able to run wet / dry depending on how many loops you want in each but my guess is that you would need a second switcher to handle some of the loops.

      @@DisasterAreaDesigns I use TC electronics Quintessence, Vibe and HOF2 and Boss DC2w all not midi, you can use tone print on TC but DC2W is manual I also use Timeline and Ocean Machine but they are midi. So I am looking for a switcher to manage my mod side. I have mono Phase 90, Flanger, Chorus, Tremolo and 12 string also. Currently I use a switcher for my dirt pedals only 4 pedals with 8 loop switcher. I use a wet dry wet rig with the wet in stereo! Any switchers to cover the mod side would be useful! As many of us are moving to wet dry or wet dry wet given That Pedal Show promoting this a lot, you may have a niche no one is covering including the big boys!

      Great question - I honestly have no idea! If you can send MIDI program change messages or MIDI CC messages you should be able to control anything you want on our controllers.

      what about Sys Ex messages? I think that is what is needed.

      I guess I could always use a MidiSolutions Event Processor to convert the CC messages to Sys Ex ones. I had to do that for the ARPs on my older Motif XS.

    Sounds like a great unit and a cool replacement for my DMC 3. But while it seems to have just the right spec, 8 loops and midi control, it lacks a display and appears over complicated. I’ve always had problems programming my DMC unit and it looks like this one is no exception. Flashing multi colour leds no display to tell you where you are. Don’t know how you would use this on stage with no way to visually know what patch was selected. 349us is a fair price for a unit with this functionality, but lack of display and apparent excess complexity just ruins it I’m afraid. Oh and a stereo out would close the sale if the other features such as a display were there.

    Is there any way to reset it, (I've totally changed the way I am using it & would like to clear all of the patches & start again from scratch?
    Is there any chance of a full user manual as I can only find a quick star guide on your website? & Is there any way to switch off the MIDI program changes when I change Patch as they are making 'rogue' patch changes to other connected MIDI devices & interfering with MIDI Through data & corrupting patch changes on other units, (wrong patch being selected? - Also, a MIDI Implementation page would be really useful to know which MIDI Patch Change commands will change which patch on the 8EZ! Thanks
