    In the manual, it says “The bypass state may be set up as an additional preset or “favorite” sound.” But there is no information on how to do that. Is this possible, how can I achieve it?

      Yes ive been trying to work this out for ages. For some reason in preset mode when no presets are actually selected, the first loop is always on by default and i dont know how to resave it with no loops active. The manual says its possible but not really how aha

      For my situation it seems when no preset is selected, it always turns on 3, 5,6,8 I don’t know how or why?

    I've been waiting for this one. Very interested to hear what the midi capabilities are in a "midi for dummies" kind of way. I do have a few midi pedals but am more of a player than a geek and was looking forward to having standard audio loops in a controller.

    Help my dpc stop working after I made a change in my pedalboard

    Is there a pure manual mode? If i want to manually turn on/off loops on the fly? I did read the manual but I didn’t see any mention.

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup, the blue / green modes are manual. Blue is loops 1-4, green is loops 5-8.

      @@DisasterAreaDesigns Awesome and is tuner mute supported in manual mode?

      @@cardbored_ Yes, absolutely.

    It's a gerat switcher for someone like me who is just starting out, and editing and saving presets is so easy. Excellent unit.
    I am very curious about how to slave it to another device, as this would expand my FX capacity

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can slave it to other MIDI devices. Just send it a program change from that other device and the 8EZ will change its loops in response.

    So basically, I could go into a preset, set each folder to be a song, so I could have 4 songs in each preset?

    Hi. How do you mute the audio on the Gen 2 version pls? I’ve tried holding preset A button but that doesn’t work.

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the same as on the other units - hold the far right footswitch. If it's not working on your unit then please email through the website and we can see about repairing it for you.

    • @professionalprocrastinator8182
      @professionalprocrastinator8182 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, thanks. I’ve realised it is working but as I have it set up to give a wet/dry mix via the insert, it’s only muting the wet signal but not the dry.

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@professionalprocrastinator8182 That makes sense! There's no mute circuit on the insert.

    Hi Mathew. Is it possible to reset the unit? I want MIDI Channel back to Channel 16.
    Trying to follow the manual, I tried to change its MIDI channel to Channel 2 but the unit doesn't respond to MIDI any more.
    There is no way to find out which MIDI channel is receiving on..
    Thanks in advance. Yves

    Reading the manual, it shows that in order to send MIDI Programs, I need to hold the far left Mode button until the LED is white but on my unit, the LED only turns to Red, Yellow or Violet on preset mode and Blue or Green on Pedal mode. How do I get the MIDI Mode (White LED?) When I hold from Pedal Mode, it just changes to Red.

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does your unit have "Gen3" printed on it anywhere? Does it have labeling on the enclosure or just the plate? Only the Gen3 will support the white MIDI mode. To enable it, hold down the D button at power-on, then tap the D button until one or both of the LEDs above the D button are lit. Hold the D button to save. Details are on page 6 of the manual.

    • @yvesabox5732
      @yvesabox5732 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply. Yes my unit is the GEN3. I think the MIDI was disabled. I followed the D button at power up, saved it and now when I hold the Bank button I can access the white colour MIDI mode. Thanks for that.
      Now, is there a way to reset the unit? ie; get the unit back to MIDI channel 16
      I haven't saved any patches yet so there's no need to save anything before resting it...

      Hold the far left and far right buttons shortly after boot to reset it.

    are you able to do a preset with loops 5-8 AND 1-4?

  • @brothersbrothas414
    @brothersbrothas414 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    so when you are in pre set mode do you have to turn the switch off that you previously on? or does it turn off itself when you switch to a different pre set channel?

    Can you set it up for a 4 cable method? (1-4 and 5-8) Drive in front and effects through amp efx loop?

      @frankies.4500 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! The only thing that I wish it had was a trigger output for amp channel switching. It would the last looper I ever bought.

      Well I am pretty sure the DPC has TRS functionality for the multijack

    Can we use dpc-8ez to switch between amp head channels like evh 5150 III 50w ?

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 5150 III 50W has MIDI and can "learn" program changes to save settings. You should be able to set it up to change channel settings for each preset on the DPC-8EZ.

      Disaster Area Designs Great, thanks for the reply. Does it also address the volume jump issue while changing from Ch1 -2 ??

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that's something that is caused by the amp itself.

    • @cavemanslens8499
      @cavemanslens8499 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Disaster Area Designs So we cannot save each amp channel with separate volume, right ? How about adding a EQ/Boost pedal in a loop with the amp channel which has low volume, does it help ? Sorry I am new to all this cool stuffs.

    I feel like you could make something way more user friendly to achieve the same goal. Put one in and out run x amount of pedals on that loop and turn on whichever ones you would like for the song on. Have another momentary switch for another x amount of pedals and repeat. Seems easier than remembering banks and folds etc . I just ordered one of these and I am a little worried that it is not necessarily out of my ability, but rather my patience for lack of simplicity..

      Joe, did you ever receive your controller? If so, how did it work out for you?

      +Guitar for HIS Glory (Troy Trahan)
      Yes, I did. It's been sitting on my shelf for about 7 months now lol. I finally ordered my new board from Creation Music Company, along with all the cable kits I need to wire it up from Lava. I have pulled it out and played with it twice now. I think it will be ok once I get the hang of it. I think it will make it easier for me to learn since my guitar player has had his for about a year now. he has his down pretty well. it's a great tool.

      Thank you so much for the reply. That's cool. I'm glad to hear that you will (one day) get some productive use out of the controller! I'm considering expanding my Disaster Area Designs controls. I have the DMC3-XL, which is very basic. To be frank, I'm a having a difficult time determining which controller does what, so landing on the correct one seems to be a crap shoot. I have a lot of research ahead of me!
