This is why i have the izula 2, its a tank while still being light. Sure it has limitations when it comes to size but as seem here its more then enough survival or camping
You’re absolutely right! For it’s size it’s a tank. It can take a beating for such a small knife. It would make a great knife for either of those things as well as a great EDC. Thanks for watching
@@ventsolaire that or he's just nosey. Lol. Maybe he just wants his 15 minutes of fame. All kidding aside he's a great dog and wants to be around his family.
Yes and no, they both have their strengths and weaknesses. As for carrying mine I usually clipped it off my weak side front pocket. Thanks for watching
When I went to sharpen mine the first the 2 sides were not sharpened to the same angle. One side at a 30 degree angle and the other a 25 degree angle. Look could look at it and visibly see a difference in the grind angles. I know that they say that all ESEE knives are sharpened at a 20 degree angle but they are hand sharpened on a belt sharpener and they vary. I’ve never had one that both sides are at a 20. Most of mine have come in some where it closer to 25 degrees. But it’s nothing a few minutes on a sharpener won’t fix. Thanks for watching.
Push down slowly with the front of the back edge of the knife spine. Use the bottom 1" of Ferro rod. Scrape as much material as you can slowly in a controlled manner down into your tinder pile. The rod shavings will ignite with a spark and you can get one using the same method. Great review!
Yes, that's what I did to this one. The patina held up well but I got it really wet during a flood several months ago while at work and couldn't take the handle scales off until the next day. When I took them off it had already started rusting and part need sandpaper to remove it. Thanks for watching
Very competent type of a review. Real-Man oriented, no useless tests or unboxings.
Thanks, I appreciate that. I just want to beat on them and use them to see how they hold up. Thanks for watching
Love seeing that little Izula 2 put in some big work.
It's definitely a small knife that can be overlooked when it comes to harder task. Thanks for watching
That thing is a little work horse, great video
Yes it is! It can do big work for such a small knife. Thank you sir and thanks for watching

Great video.
Thanks for sharing.
You're very welcome! I learned that about the coating the hard way. Thanks but unfortunately he's the wife's dog. Lol

My 3rd Esse and my Izula II just arrived today! First thing I noticed was that rattle and then compared that to my Esse 4 which does rattle less!
A little heat on the sheath and that rattle can be stopped. Just have to figure out where it’s coming from. Thanks for watching
Do you prefer the izula 2 over the esee 3? How do you like to carry your izula 2 edc? Thanks for sharing 👍. 🇺🇲🔪🔥🌲

Don’t they though! Thanks for watching
What do you mean with 30 down to 25 degrees? As I know comes the Izula with 40 degrees combined or 20 degrees on both sides.

Great video. Will it spark using a flint?
With coating off the blade you can get sparks off the spine with a piece of flint. Thanks for watching
Thank you.
@@robertdiehlbob4917 you're welcome sir. Glad I could help
Have you tried to force patina to the handle for rust prevention?

@@CentralKyBushcraft Thanks for answering. This is golden. I am definitely following your advice on keeping the coating on the handle.
