Central Ky Bushcraft
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 11 มี.ค. 2019
This channel is for people who love the outdoors. First, I'm NO EXPERT, what I show may not be what some consider the right way or even the best way but this is what I was taught or what I've learned. AND I'M STILL LEARNING as we all should be. I'm located in Central Ky and have spent my whole life running around in the woodlands of this area. As I've gotten older I have gotten to the point where I would love pass on some of what I have learned to others and as well as hopefully encourage others to get out in the woods. Thank you for your interest and I hope we can continue to learn together.

What are the metal plate things that you have attached to the top of your stick?

I know I am very late to this video, but i thought i would mention something. Not all Jeff White knives have the scallops on the spine next to his logo. I have nine of his knives, all purchased from Self Reliance Outfitters, when they use to carry them. None have them and all had hard sharp nibety degree angles on the spine for use with a fero rod. I have two the the english trade knives, like yours, but none have scallops. Hope this helps others in the present and the future.
@@mr-noones-tradecraft that’s great info. I had no clue because everyone I’ve seen has had the scallops. Thanks for the info and thanks for watching
@@CentralKyBushcraft The original knives he made had the scallops, or he called them claw marks. Then when other businesses started to sell them for him, he dropped the scallops for almost all of the vendors. So...that most likely means that yours was from the time of just him and his shop. Nice find.
@@CentralKyBushcraft Also, i was going through mine tonight and I haven't used them in years, in fact, four of the nine are brand new. I was thinking about letting some go, but haven't a clue how to go about it. I might put them up on ebay, since i couldn't find any of them on there. The only ones that come up are similar knives made by a student of Jeff White.
@ I’ve been looking for one he made that I think was called the Longhunter. I miss out on one years ago and have regretted it ever since.
@@CentralKyBushcraft I do not have that one. I have two Bush HD's, two Bush One's, two French trade knives, two Sloyds, and one Trekker. But he had so many designs that for a small shop it was pretty impressive.
Love it

I have one of these knives. I bought it in 2003 right before I shipped out with the Army Reserves to serve in Iraq. I still have this knife. It was with me the whole time. I did not have any need to really use it in the desert. I was a clerk in transportation company at Camp Anaconda. My knife is slightly different than yours. Mine looks more weathered also.
@@glenh4971 it’s a timeless design and I’m sure there are a lot how that have bought one because their father or grandfather carried one when they went to war. I believe they are great for what they were designed for. As far as using yours, my dad always said that it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Thanks for watching
An old hand to hand instructor told me, the Mk2 USMC differs from the Navy Mk2 is that sharp swedge. That’s it, btw, he had an awesome “Kbars” collection.
Two years late to the party, but I have one of these knives. It's not the best for hard use. I've found that it chips easily, but it sharpens back just as easily. The retention clip broke within a couple months of daily use, but it also has the button strap so there's not much lost.
I agree with you on this. For the price it’s a good lightweight choice for a light duty knife. Thanks for watching
@@CentralKyBushcraft Absolutely, it's a good edc for urban/suburban people, but I wouldn't take it bushcrafting, and that's perfectly acceptable. I like a good knife in the garden or doing small things in and around my chickens. This fits that bill.
Great video, now i know what to do with mine!

@@moiramcfarlane706 Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. So simple yet so handy. Thanks for watching
I just got the basic Azula a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely love it. It is my new pocket knife. I don’t like carrying anything on my belt if I can avoid it so I chose the original rather than the Azula II in order to avoid the minimal increase in handle bulk from the II having scales while the original Izula doesn’t. It took about 15 or 20 minutes to Paracord wrap the handle (Instructions come with the knife), which I highly recommend. The rattle that he is showing at the end of the video is, I am sure, from the belt clip that comes with the knife which he has attached to the sheath. Don’t attach the belt clip, and there is no rattle. The sheath holds the knife like a vise but you can slip it off easily with the push of your drawing hand thumb. How do they do that? Unlike apparently a lot of commentators I wear a suit to work every day. For this reason, I’ve carried a SOG Air model (now discontinued) for at least 20 years. It was called the Air model because it has the 3 inch blade that you could legally carry aboard an airplane. Yeah, that’s how old that model is. I love that knife so much I have three more that I purchased and have put back in case I lose this one (and the one after and the one after) as I did the first one that I bought. I am now pretty sure that none of those will ever be used, and the Azula has now taken the place of my pocket knife. In the kydex sheath that comes with it the knife and sheath simply disappear in your pocket if the spine of the knife side of the sheath is laid along the inside back edge of the pocket. Even with the suit on I don’t know it’s in my pocket. That’s amazing. The SOG would sometimes get sideways in the pocket and get in my way. So far this one doesn’t. I just ordered two for my 31 and 32 year-old daughters for Christmas for daily carry. In my opinion, every human should possess one or the other of these two Azula knives. Just buy one. This is my second Esse knife. The first was a Model PR-4. Love it too. The Model 5 is on the way. I want to compare it to my “beast” (British MOD knife). I don’t expect it to be quite as tough as that knife but I also don’t expect to have to use it to dig through brick walls as I once heard one British squadie describe having done to avoid entering a residence where the doors and windows ended up being rigged with explosives.
@@maxsparks5183 the Izula is a great knife indeed. The only difference between the Izula and the Izula II is the handle length. The Izula II is about a 1/2 inch longer than the Izula. And the Izula II comes with handle scales (which are easily removed). I love the ESEE brand and have yet to find a knife they make that I don’t like. That would definitely be an interesting comparison between the ESEE-5 and the British MOD-2. I’ll watch for that video. Thanks for watching
Pretty cool 😎 👍
Does the slot in the handle of the knife where the ferro rod is inserted weaken the design of the knife? Maybe it would be better if the blade was solid without such a slot? Can you tell me something about this?
@@БогданШпаковский-э6ш I haven’t seen any signs of weakness in it and I’ve beat the ever loving crap out of it! I understand the thinking behind your question but unless you’re beating the handle with a hammer I don’t think you’re going to have any issues. Thanks for watching
hows it holding up?
@@barrybark3995 so far so good. Nothing real hard yet but so far I’m very pleased
