I would keep stock wheel and invest in performance since the car already looks killer stock. A big wheel GN will not outrun a small wheel GN with the same power.

Transmission rebuild is a must. Mine at 74k was clean almost perfect according to my builder. Increase the horsepower to about 450 and up it will tear the stock transmission apart. It has less to do with the age of the transmission. They were ment to handle stock power maybe a little more.

Fyi that T Top GN has the Digital gauges not Analog. For future reference. Analog is the sweeping needle and bar tach and boost underneath.

The original Grand National design was Red. A guy named Molly xxxxx presented it to the buick guys they said red was pontiacs color so changed it to black. Great story and history behind this car. Legendary.
