3:30 the thing that makes this even better is that its a huge rivalry game, the 49ers and Cowboys hate each other

I think the announcers reaction to the Randy Moss moon shot was a bit over the top, thought was funny

Stevie Johnson was mocking an opposing player who shot himself in the leg accidentally. On the last one, the QB, Manziel, was known for making the "money" gesture (rubbing his thumb and fingertips together) after a good play. Manziel was a good college player but he quickly flamed out in the pros due to drug use and overconfidence, so that gesture was mocked by opponents a lot

6:29 he's imitating/mocking the dance that the Baltimore Ravens' best player at the time, Ray Lewis, would do upon introductions of each game. Basically, he's just trolling the opposing team's best player.

For the NFL, it is sometimes called the No Fun League because of the ban on celebrations. The owners felt that they were going overboard and made any celebration that was done as taunting and a 15 yard penalty. Then they have since eased up, you can celebrate a touchdown, but you can't taunt your opponents. It's even more strict in college football

6:38 yes, Terrell Owens (again, and on his 3rd team in this video) was mocking Ray Lewis’ dance (it was pretty good actually) who played for the team he was up against, the Baltimore Ravens.

The backstory of Randy Moss mooning the Green Bay fans was this: When the Vikings arrived at the stadium that day, Packers fans pulled their pants down and mooned the Vikings bus.

  • @TheStapleGunKid

Yes there are still penalties for taunting. In a violent contact sport like football, it's vitally important to keep player discipline under control in order to avoid fights.

  • @deadstickgaming3665

Luckily most of these that drew penalties are relatively old clips, more than 5 years old. The NFL used to be pretty strict on celebrations, you had a certain time limit, couldn't do a big team act, but recently they have eased up on those and now they actually encourage group celebrations with a sort of selfie screen in the end zone for the scoring team to celebrate in front of. The only way you can get a taunting or unsportsmanlike conduct for a celebration these days is if you do something personal, straight to someone's face or to the opposing sideline, especially verbal.

@7:15 Stevie Johnson was making fun of plaxico burress who was on the jets at the time. In 2008 plaxico accidentally shot himself in the leg at the time he was playing for the New York giants and was in NY club when he shot himself and he had no concealed carry license and New York City is crazy strict on gun laws they later searched his house found a few more guns and he ended up getting 2 years in prison After he got out of prison he signed with the New York jets.

That rowing the boat by Steve Smith was slap in the face to Fred Smoot #27 on the Vikings who he just burned. Smoot and Bryant McKinnie got busted for throwing a stripper sex yacht party on Lake Minnetonka right before that game.

  • @ryanleaf386

One the bills jets celebration 1. The New your Jets traditionally do the jet arms celebration when they score 2. A player (wide receiver)on the jets named Plaxico Burress had just come back into the NFl after being out of a couple year for accidentally shooting himself in the leg) so he was mocking him

  • @SmokingSkull10
    @SmokingSkull10 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

For context on the one where the guy held his thigh, a receiver named Plaxico Burress for the Giants shot himself in the leg at a club. He was then charged with no license for carrying a concealed firearm. Ruined his career.

For the last one. The Browns qb Johnny "Money" Manziel as per the name, does a fingers rubbing celebration. The Washington players did it at him

@6:17 the love boat incident was in 2005 a bunch of Vikings players (at least 17 of them) rented 2 house boats on lake Minnetonka and there was at least 90 people on the 2 boats and most of them were prostitutes and some of the Vikings players and prostitutes were performing all kinds of sexual acts on the boats in front of crew members it was a big incident/scandal for the nfl Steve smith basically trolled the whole Vikings organization with that celebration especially since the owners were very embarrassed over what happened

2:00 Oh yes, it is very much a thing. End zone celebrations were penalized at one time. I'm not sure if that is still done. I don't watch NFL much anymore. If you think about it, what is the most tacky thing you can do in sports? Taunting & obviously scripted end zone celebration might be on the list. Some of their own fans have booed when celebrating a touchdown. And the poor stupid athlete doesn't realize their little touch down & celebration doesn't amount to much if they are still 24 points behind close to the end of the game. Many fans resent it & the athlete seems to be in the dark as to why. It shows a lack of professionalism. Most of the best runners & receivers didn't to this. They didn't have to.

Sounds like someone who stopped watching when players started kneeling for the anthem. U have no clue that the TD celebrations are now celebrated and encouraged and use the ENTIRE offense or defense on the field at the time. Yes they’re rehearsed but it makes the game more fun and loose. There’s nothing wrong with players like Barry Sanders who would hand the ball to the red after a TD tho but no need to put down celebrations when they’re now practically encouraged.

@@fsujavi16 I go back before that. The player's strike in the mid 80's (don't remember the exact year). And the big celebrations started about then. Just seemed a lot like players were practicing their 'hip swivel' after a TD more than they practiced their assignments & game play. Celebrations have always been in the game. Just not the show boating. I'm glad some like the show. It just isn't for me. I'm weird. I don't go to hockey games to see the fights either.
