I don’t get why they don’t allow this as a normal function so many professional photographers must hate trying to use this. I get it was originally designed for mobiles but still how hard would it be to allow pc usage

I did it right now (August 2018), after I have toggled the smartphone mode, hit refresh and in the middle (instead of the camera icon it's a square with a plus (+) in the middle, by clicking on that + in opens windows explorer and you can browse anywhere on your PC and choose whatever picture do you wish.

Glad it worked. If you ever run into issues, just reload the browser while in the developer tools. You can also click the network tab and disable browser cache while in the developer tools which will help as well.

I don't know if I will get a response, being that this video is nearly 2 years old, but I've had this issue as well, and I have looked through a few videos other than this one, that helped me remedy the upload difficulty. Hats off to you and those other tech support videos out there, thanks! On a different note, is there a way to upload the multiple photo/video slide option like we can on our mobile devices, for desktop? That would help with the posts I need to get out there for my business, but I haven't seen or am not able to access this option. Unless it does not exists for desktop?, which I think is silly.

Thanks! In Sept., 2018, this works using Windows 10 and Chrome, but to get the photo you click the "+" icon. If your icons show in a left window, click the settings to display them on the bottom.

Thanks so much! I get a lot of illustration work through instagram. The problem I had, was showing customers updates of their design, through the private messaging. Not now as the messages show up using this workaround. Cheers!
This video is great though it wasn't initially clear to me you must first download the app to your phone even if you are going to upload from your computer. After I did that, this hack worked great!

Go to bensguide’s video on how to upload multiple photos on PC. In that way you don’t even have to mess with the code.

The only way that I known is use blue stack (smartphone emulator) but for PC I had no Idea how to do it.
