"Dopus No. 1" (Aka Mr. Holland's Dopus, aka The Grifter)
True Loves latest, "Dopus no. 1," is the B Side follow up to their summer time single, "Good Weed & Red Wine." Inspired by the band's festival performances with the likes of Lettuce, Femi Kuti, and The California Honeydrops, guitarist Jimmy James' jagged intro riff sets a serious tone for the song's journey. As the tune develops, the TL's horn lines glide over the influences of afrobeat and Curtis Mayfield, delving the band into new territory. Joined again by the legendary Nigel Hall on Hammond Organ and Fender Rhodes, the epic "Dopus no. 1" is a glimpse into the evolution of the True Loves sound. Soon to be available on 7" vinyl!

Dopus No. 1 and Good Weed and Red Wine in the same session, is a hell of a session. Looking forward to hearing what ever else got recorded that day.

KEXP in Seattle brought me here to this new one 👍👍
Shout out @KEXP
Jimmy is the funk master. Just love the funky staccato with the reverbed out hollow body.
BEAUTIFUL Song ! , BEAUTIFUL Session ! .
Awesome! I love watching y'all lay it down.
Thanks for tuning in!
Been throwing this on every morning. Starts the day off right.
Un vrai ravissement ce morceau ! Merci messieurs.
Jimmy! Bry! David! Solid!!!
So glad to see you back on here! Sounds great as usual.
Bro i thought On the spot and Shambling were my jams but i have been bumping this banger all week!
I hope there are more new tunes so I can listen to them all while cycling in the summer. :)

Esse som é muito bom , essa obra de arte é " pancada " !!! 👏👏👏

@EricSmy
It's always so interesting how differently people perceive and experience music.
I love everything about this. But 1:48 to 3:11 is amazing. Absolutely beautiful!!! It's a whole other level :O :O :O :O :O :O :O
It's amazing to see this inspiring new direction of their journey :O 😍😍😍😍
With Good Weed & Red Wine too.
Further into the emotional, spiritual and soulful realms but still with their killer feels and grooves.
Perfect combination!!! 💜💜💜💜
Interesting you mention Yeshua, I get major spiritual, cosmic levels in that part. I kept thinking of him, gospel and soul church. They're really taking it higher there 😍😍😍💜💜💜
I fully wanted it to go for 15 minutes too :) I'd take 15 of 1:48 to 3:11.
I'm sure they will give us an amazing extended live version :) :) :)
Love their guest organist/Rhodesist Nigel Hall here too, so magic!!! ✨✨✨✨
It's playing in my head for days, loooooooooove it!!!!
Thank you guys for yet more amazing music!!! OML 💜💜💜💜💜
The kind of a guitar player we could all use in the band.
"B" side? This is prime!
First Chair Tenor and now I’m so regretful of selling that horn to buy my first P-Bass. I need a saxophone back in my life.
I listened to this 3 days ago and my head is still bopping. Am I going to be ok? Is this my life now?
This is normal, but please consult is doctor if bopping still occurs after 1 week.
