Thanks for following along! Early spring is the best time of year for a hike like this IMO. Water everywhere. 12 hours of daylight. No bugs. Birds chirping. Great views with leaf-off, & watching the forest come alive with each passing day.
Hi Chris. Another great hiking video. I especially enjoyed seeing you walk along The Narrows. Also knowing Father's Day was a few days ago, hope it was a great day for you. I seem to recall you have several children, all teens. I'm thankful for them that their dad sets a good example by walking in the Lord's Creation. It's good for everyone. I have 3 sons, 3 daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren, and 2 grandson in laws. I'm hoping to do some hiking with my oldest grandson (age 25) this summer/fall. He's a travel nurse so he can schedule some time off. Better do it now while I can, I think he's about to get engaged and married next summer. God Bless you Chris!
Thanks for following along & all the kind words, Mr Ken! Hope you enjoyed the sights & sounds of the OHT. Unfortunately, I spent my Fathers Day working a 12hr shift. But yes, my wife & I are blessed with 5 kids, & now a grandson. I’m not sure I’ll have a backpacker amongst them - but my hope is to inspire them to be adventurous, step out of there comfort zone & do hard & challenging things in life. Whatever they choose to do!
@@DixonHikes As for your Father's Day, you did what a good Dad does, support his family. As for hiking: I found that starting them with short day hikes was a say to see if any interest was in them. Look forward to more of your great work.
Congrats on another successful thru hike of the OHT. The Narrows looked sick and those overlooks on the BRT were pretty sweet too. I enjoyed following along on this one ✌
Good job, brother. Some of those view points up on those mountain ridges looked dangerous lol. But the burning question is, was the 2 mile hike in the rain to DQ worth it? Haha.
We just watched the entire hike. Very impressive and inspiring, sir.
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed the sights & sounds of the OHT!
I'm so proud of you!!! Another amazing thru hike down and I know you'll do amazing next year too. #bestdadever 💗💗💗
Daddy is more proud of you! Love you! 😘
Great content. I live in Arkansas, and I will do this trail one day I hope.
Thanks! So many great trails in our home state. Few better than the OHT!
Enjoyed the OHT series. I love the Arkansas trails in the early springtime.

@@DixonHikes I meant to ask why at 4:33 you labeled it "The Narrows" instead of "The Nars" 😁
Oh, Y’know. For the non-Arkie-talkin’-folk out there. 😅

Thanks for following along, bro! What an incredible hike this was. Time to plan the next one!

Dude, I would’ve hiked 5 miles in the rain for that fish basket & fried apple pie!
Great video! What is the name of the ending song and artist?😊
Hey, thanks! I found that song on iTunes. Ozark Mountains by the BlackBerry Winter Band.
@@DixonHikes I thought that's who it was! They are a local band!!
Is this the big piney river
This is the Buffalo National River.
@@DixonHikes when I was a teen, we rode horses at the national scenic trail ride, near fort Leonard Wood. Beautiful country great memories
