Without sounding overly dramatic, I, personally, think that the John Wick franchise has carved itself a place in modern day film history, and well deserved.
Just watched Chapter 4 and in my opinion, it surpasses the first film, which I thought was impossible. I loved Chapter 1 so much. The score in Chapter 1 hasn't been matched, but the action in Chapter 4 is on a whole new level.
i still can't get each actin sequence out of my head. The car scene in Paris, the top down dragon breath shotgun scene. The audience I saw it with was amazing.

Getting hit by cars, falling from crazy heights, being narrowly missed by an explosion, thrown into something that could cause severe injury = "STUNT" ...These are the things the stuntman does. He does actions, not stunts.
The first film was a lot more purposeful and the action felt very impactful as the story and the motivations were extremely strong. Each movie after that kept improving the action but left out the strong emotional core that made the first John Wick film special.
John wick 1 is actually my least favorite because of the emotional aspects. Once he let's loose its alot more fun (for me) and they flesh out the lore of the high table. I have seen a million action movies where the MC becomes a force of nature because of loss. Sometimes it's better to have a badass getting shit done period no baggage no anchors. *spoilers* when Charon is killed in chapter 4 I was more pissed lance wasn't going to have any more action scenes rather than feeling sad for winston/ johns loss.
For me the 4th one is by far the best of the series, it has the best elements from each one it's predecessors, powerful characters/emotions/actions/fighting styles/car chasing etc..

It's great there's never much plot or dialogue to distract the viewer and that the tropes we see are simple, well-used and easy to digest. This allows the the film to concetrate firmly on vehicles going fast, all the weapons getting lots of use and a super-high body count. Lastly the underlying messgae that anyone with a vaguely Russian look or accent is right dodgy is as simple as the white hat, black hat code of the old time Westerns - bravo !! blam blam blam blam blam blam blam blam blam blam blam blam oh yes...
