He's one of the more popular examples of "character actor stuck in the body of a leading man". The guy really gets into his characters and nails the roles he's given. This is very dependent on the director and writing (nobody coulda made the World War Z fella interesting) but given a good character he'll nail it every time 👌

Well done! It reminds me of the bar fight between Hank Stamper and Biggie Newton in Ken Kesey’s Sometimes a Great Notion. In Hank’s own words, “I had to come on pretty strong to beat Biggie.”, who Kesey described as a 6 foot six prehistoric biped stuffed into coveralls and hobnail boots.
I can’t do a proper British accent. Not even close. But…I have seen this movie so many times, my Bricktop impression is on point! And I can’t stray too far from the script or I’ll lose it. In ‘06 I was in England and managed to impress a few locals by slipping a few of Bricktop’s lines into the conversation😂 A couple of the guys had not even seen the movie, so they had no idea where I was coming from.

I've travelled extensively during military service and subsequent work in business. The only time I had absolutely no idea what someone was trying to communicate was on a British Airways flight when a flight attendant was speaking to me in English.
I had an ex & his band mates & him, when they would drink...their East London accents would get thicker and thicker...we would joke that by the end of a night..it just sounded like a group of Harbour seals.." wa..right right right whu whu roigh..whu?"
I had a similar situation. I went into a small packed bar in Manhattan. The bartender was from Ireland. He was talking and talking to me. Like you said, I hardly understood a word he said and he was speaking English!
I have an Irish friend that came to America to my work. He would get mad at me because I told him I couldn't understand him. We are now close friends and I understand him well now. Good Lad he is !
