I solved this one just by looking at it. The answer is X=1+3log2/log5. I have a question though. Why do you continually make your problems way longer than they need to be? There is ZERO reason to take the logarithm of both sides. That is, a logarithm with base 10. Just take a logarithm with base 5 on both sides!!!! That would instantly get rid of the log 5 and just leave you X=log 40 base 5 (or log 40/log5). You come to that conclusion anyway, so why do you go through the pointless step of using a logarithm with base 10? It’s so stupid and useless to do that since you just have to divide both sides by log 5 anyway. Since log 5/log 5= 1 (also known as log 5 base 5 according to your change of base rule), you don’t need to take a logarithm with base 10 (common log). A logarithm with base 5 is faster and gives you the exact same answer

x=log40/log5=(log5+log8)/log5=1+3log2/log5
x≈1+(3×0.301)/0.699≈534/233≈2.2919
5^2.2919≈39.99
✌️
I solved this using 4 x 10 instead of 5x8 and I was stuck😂
