Same here about a Hohner blues band simple but this song also inspired me to maybe hit some of those notes and be creative, trying to find a step-by-step walk-through on how to play but for now I’ll just use my ear and see what comes out of this!
You are a good teacher man. The end part where you spoke about the tips you've learnt. That's the gold right there. These are the shortcuts that will really help people outside of just knowing the chords etc
I’m sitting here trying this while burning a lil something and started coughing. The satisfaction of my girlfriend hearing you cough after giving me shit was awesome
Just learning the harmonica and love this song! Thanks for the video. Insightful and well explained. I have to agree with another commenter…you don’t give yourself enough credit! Love it! Stay humble and keep making videos!
You are an excellent teacher. If I could, I would love to learn the harmonica of "John Wayne" by Whiskey Myers. If you can make a video I would be very grateful.
Hey! Just to help y’all out with some harmonica terminology: the type of harmonica you are using is “diatonic” not “chromatic” while you can get chromatic harmonicas, they are much less common as they are very difficult to play. The standard harmonicas you see at guitar center are diatonic. So you are playing a “Diatonic C Harmonica” for this song. The distinction of it being a “blues” harmonica doesn’t have anything to do with the tuning. That deals more with the build of the harmonica and the way it feels & plays (mostly personal preference stuff).
Had no idea there were different harmonicas and different tuning etc.. I thought a harmonica was a harmonica.. so if I was to walk into a store id ask for a diatonic C harmonica?
Man, you were pretty through on the lesson. Hit all the info i needed to hear. I have been playing acoustic for some time. Newbie on the harmonica but this was helpful thankyou!
Keep practicing and make your own way. Your own unique way will be different than mine and that’s good man. Make your own style and be yourself man. That’s what I did.
"By the time youve played it that much, you won't like this song anymore"
Truer words have never been spoken 😂😂
Honestly this has happened to me quite a bit, I stopped playing shows a long time ago because of this lol
Harmonica always adds a slightly mournful longing to a song. Just that added element that strikes the soul. Great lesson, Tyler. Thanks

My hermoica has 12 and it’s the 64 chromonica
What type of harmonica do you use? What tune and all that jazz? I’m trying to learn and wanna learn just to play their music
It’s a key of C, blues band harmonica
@@tylerpruittband3505 thank you!
@@tylerpruittband3505 is there a certain brand or are they pretty much all the same?
Just blues band. The cheap harmonicas.
Some of the expensive ones have different tunings on the blow and draw.
Or cow poke
Okay my harmonica says "A"... it doesn't sound the same as yours..
I play in the original key which is C. Therefore I use a C harmonica. You’ll have to change the key or get a different harmonica.
@Alena Morgan
@@tylerpruittband3505 yeah I tried keys and I just need a C harmonica
Thanks for posting this!! The guitar is written in the key of E and we’re supposed to use the key of C harmonica right?
