  • In this tutorial I walkthrough how you can create a patch on the Moog Sub 37 that morphs between kick, snare, and hi-hat sounds to create a beat using the sequencer. No external processing was used on the Moog sounds in this video.
    Thanks for watching!

    This is very useful for just about any synth, not just the Sub 37. Good stuff!

    Excellent. Thanks for taking the time with a clear explanation of your process. This has really stimulated new ideas for using my Sub 37!

    This is amazing! Thank you very much for the clear deep explanation of this amazing synth. I´m so glad to own one! It would be great if you could do also a tutorial about how to make "organic" percussive sounds like conga, djambe, clave, bell. Cheers

      it is the real thing! It's just the editor for the Moog Sub 37, all the sounds are coming from the Moog

    I just rec'd my Subsequent 37 and am loving it (my 1st analog synth). Was feeling a little lost and this tutorial opened up so many ideas to try. Thank you for doing this. I just noticed your last video was about a year ago. Any plans to do more?

    • @AdamSchneiderMusic
      @AdamSchneiderMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad it helped! The Sub 37's an amazing instrument so I think you made a great choice for a 1st analog purchase! Right now I have no exact plans for doing more videos. There are already so many good synth videos other people have made on TH-cam and I'd have to think of something that'd be interesting and useful :)

    • @cali3168
      @cali3168 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AdamSchneiderMusic Well I will say that I've seen so many of those videos I've literally lost count, and hands down yours has been the absolute best in terms of content and how you explain everything. Are there any TH-cam channels in particular you could recommend? Any books? I really want to learn this inside and out (it's def a passion) but most videos just seem to cover the surface and barely touch sound design. Thanks again and I appreciate the reply.

    • @AdamSchneiderMusic
      @AdamSchneiderMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cali3168 Thanks! I wish I had better resources to recommend. Sound on Sound has some good articles on subtractive synthesis and there's gotta be a few TH-cam channels to learn from, but I don't actively follow any.

    any tips on how to make a kick sound that is not snappy but just low tone? adding some attack on amp?

    • @AdamSchneiderMusic
      @AdamSchneiderMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you turn down the Filter Amount you get the low-thump without any of the high end snap. Try using just a tiny amount of it for some 808 style deep kicks!

    Can you add swing to a pattern like this?

  • @mpmi7588
    @mpmi7588 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dope video but everyone doesn't understand all that lfo modulating envelope nerd talk. Can u make another video using the actual keyboard and less synth science talk?

    • @AdamSchneiderMusic
      @AdamSchneiderMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Honestly, this patch is complicated enough that understanding synth nerd talk is a requirement and the keyboard wouldn't really help with anything. There's plenty of online resources for learning synthesis fundamentals though!
