    That Eurorack Drum Machine is so cool. Current drum machines are either overly expensive sample players ore the make some funny sounds no one wants in their productions. This on the other hand sounds amzing and is apparently very tweakable. And you can always put in other modules if you really need something else.
    PS: the Pamelas Workout + the Mystics sound like a match made in heaven.

    Really cool stuff, as usual! And very interesting choice of instruments. It's the first time I got some real interest in euroracks stuff, I always saw the modules more like some fancy little cool things that don't gel with other non eurorack gear, but that "diy", self contained modular drum machine is a really cool concept with plenty of hands-on playability. Would be a really nice alternative to the typical x0x style machine.
    Cheers

    idum break beat mode so sick!!!! sounds so great! steppy killin it too! if you used mixup to go to the main outs and cut the output module you might be able to find room for a 1u midi module so you could sync everything. but didnt really seem like a big deal here to not be syncd up!

  • @poltergeist0
    @poltergeist0 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Love it! So simple, yet so powerful. If I already have alot of Elektron boxes, would I benefit from building a Eurorack drum machine like this? What would you say the primary advantages are?

    • @JayHosking
      @JayHosking  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The main advantage of a little eurorack skiff like this is that you can customize the sounds, the sequencer, and effects to your liking. For me, I like when sequencers have some performability built in, such as a beat-repeat function, fills, randomness generator, being able to run LFOs on various sequencing components, etc. As such, this little skiff is perfect for me. Hope that makes sense. I think the Elektron boxes are amazing for sound design and sound shaping, but are a little less flexible on the dynamic sequencing side; that said you don't need any of that, and it just depends on the sound you're going for. Hope that helps and thanks so much!

  • @stujay

    • @JayHosking

    Whoa! Really sweet and moody and the energy of the drums really meshed well with this being a live performance. The only thing I missing in this video is some equally sweet and moody color on those horrid white hospital lighted walls of yours! Seriously Jay. @krilin84 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JayHosking Hah, well, maybe you don't have to make it too complicated. It was really just a passing thought that there's low hanging fruit to pick in the visual department of your videos in terms of making the instruments and performance the more intuitive eye catcher - which could be achieved with some darker-ish color on the walls and some nicer-ish warm lighting of the instruments!

      I had the 8-voice One, sold it, and picked up the 16-voice. In other words, I think this is a keeper. It's imperfect (I've got a different video where I talk about that, about a year back), but its filters and oscillators are just my thing. And I agree: it's a big space investment as well!
