Great advice but what really concerns me about footwork stance and techniques is the stress and pressure over the knee caps and tendons too... and sitting on your heels is far more stressing for your knee than the deep squat position. What's your point on this subject? I was having lots of knee issues due to footwork despite I enjoy it so much and consider it a great work out too. Best.
I am also constantly concerned with this topic, however, the best advice i can give you is to prepare for the "kneestress" in the best matter. Meaning you should put a lot of work into enhancing your muscles around your knees and then again learn to control every step mindfully, as stated here by Focus. I myself have a miniscustear, or at least it was almost torn apart before i started taking my time and learning to control my moves either in HipHop or Bboying. I am still a super noob concerning bboying, but i take my time to master the basics and understanding the physics behind certain moves, in order to perform them without hurting myself too badly. Dancing however is a sport- and artform that always takes a great toll on your body, when you try to reach further out into the more expressive and creative sphere of the art. However when you stick to foundtaion and full body control while enhancing your overall power, you can certainly overcome the injuries to some degree. If you have any specific question towards that topic you can of course write me and i try to help. However the most crucial and basic help for bboying is to buy good kneeprotectionpads. Peace!
Love and respect from India ❤
