Musicians out there, take note... this group is gonna topple everyone and the key behind it (other than the onslaught of talent from all members) is in the excitement that these guys have behind the project... the music. Too many bands go down the tubes, even when they've got the talent, because they're too focused on the business (money, fame, etc.). The guys in Them Crooked Vultures are juiced about the chemistry when they play. This is what it's all about... can't wait for the release...
Dave is such a cool, nice guy. I was a big Nirvana fan but never a big Foo fan, apart from that 1st album. I'm excited for this project, TCV. Being a huge QOTSA fan and a LZ fan this is amazing.
Hahaha i had a smile on my face the whole time watching this! Dave is such an awesome dude! Id love to go party at Medieval times with those dudes lmao!
I've heard that if you run into dave grohl on the street that nine times out of ten he'll stop and chat with you for a while. Seems like an awesome guy, love every band he's been in.
Yeah, thats what he told me, he said he had alot of close tie's to Morocco, him and the band. I got to shake his hand and meet his son who was with him so that was cool.
And we shouldn't forget that it's his personal opinion. Maybe TCV is the kind of music he wants to play, and what he said about having a connection with someone as a drummer - it's just invaluable. If the chemistry is right with both of his band members it's probably incredibly fun.
Damn... what I'd give to just sit and have a beer with Dave Grohl... he looks like the type of guy that WOULD if you just offer. Now I wanna have my party at Medieval Times when I turn 40.
Duuude... It's John Paul Jones and Josh Homme. I'm sure all the members of his other bands wouldn't be offended. The level of talent in this band is definitely the highest he's ever had the opportunity to play with, so I don't blame him for saying that.
Josh is an excellent player and with the style of music theyre playing I dont think they could have made a better choice for vocals. I think though, if they make more albums, and want some more guitar influenced songs, they might want to look into finding another lead guitarist.
I love how this videos about them crooked vultures a mixture of a post-grunge, classic rock and I don't remember what Josh's "politically correct" genre is yet you all are talking about grunge let it go talk about them crooked vultures not a music scene
Yes, but then so many of them have got the wrong idea about "artistic integrity". You can completely be in it for the money, but as long as you like what you're doing, it's not selling out.
He seems to just blurt things out sometimes. The bday party "we ended up smoking pot in the mens on my 40th birthday". He said in a few interviews he hasnt touched drugs since he was 20. Naughty naughty Mr Grohl we now know different. So funny.
if by sold out, you mean became successful and fulfilled his dream of being a famous rock star, then yes he did. someone who says a band sold out is someone who is jealous of not being as big.
Ill agree with you in saying Bonham was the shit. Best there was, is, and ever will be. But Peart didnt always have the monster of a set he has today. He, at one time had a regular set and still kicked ass. Get Peart on a regular set and drum battle with Grohl and thats something I'd pay good money to see!
Im in no way saying get rid of Josh. He is perfect on vocals, and as long as they're not going for anything huge on guitar they dont need anyone else. but for my guitar influenced songs I think they'll either have to cut back on vocals and let Josh focus on guitar, or find someone else for guitar. But either way keep Homme!
@the79band Ive never liked the grunge classification. Look at your 4 famous grunge bands Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam. They are all completely different they just happened to live or record in Seattle. Pearl Jam definitely should not be considered grunge. They were pegged as alt by record execs to sell more but they were the farthest thing from the rest of the scene
yeah, wait, what? no fucking way thats happening. if so, i was in seattle when they played the last tour and the last one was only a few days after that
Dave Grohl would have been famous with or without Nirvana - Hes a very gifted drummer and a motivated guy . Foo Fighters was successful because of skilled music writing and good execution not because the drummer from Nirvana was in it wtf -
Great interview. Thanks for the post.

great interview..this is so exciting!
Dave is so humble. I love it.
Yeah it does!!! i listen to it alot!!
Hahaha i had a smile on my face the whole time watching this! Dave is such an awesome dude! Id love to go party at Medieval times with those dudes lmao!
Them Crooked Vultures is the best thing to happen to rock music in my recent memory. This album is sooooo good :D
Their Record is amazing very good music!!
Guy does have range that lupe fiasco song is really nice, I'm in love with these three, the album is great, can not wait to pick this record up*

Josh Homme and John Paul Jones.
Josh is the singer and guitarist for Queens of the Stone Age and John is the bassist for Led Zeppllin
Dave Grohl es el mero mero del rock. creo que nadie en estos dias se le compara a el... grande Grohl
i love this man
soo cool!
I've heard that if you run into dave grohl on the street that nine times out of ten he'll stop and chat with you for a while. Seems like an awesome guy, love every band he's been in.
Right on man! Agreed!
Yeah, thats what he told me, he said he had alot of close tie's to Morocco, him and the band. I got to shake his hand and meet his son who was with him so that was cool.
he never stopped..
Dave Grohl = The most friendliest guy in rock.
That would have to be one of the most awesome-est parties anybody could be at! Wish I was there lol
And we shouldn't forget that it's his personal opinion. Maybe TCV is the kind of music he wants to play, and what he said about having a connection with someone as a drummer - it's just invaluable. If the chemistry is right with both of his band members it's probably incredibly fun.
he was the fierce yet down to earth force in Nirvana. cool cat!
Wow. What a lovely down-to-earth guy. Is that Josh standing with his arms folded in the background?
totally agree
this is the dude this is the man! Grohl kickass!!
Defeats the purpose. Grohl is a hardcore Bonham fan, and his playing style is pure Bonham.....stepping into this band is like his dream realized.
finally someone that use the mind,i'm agree with you my friend
It is true. JPJ is an amazing musician. I always felt that he was the best player in Zepp.
Damn... what I'd give to just sit and have a beer with Dave Grohl... he looks like the type of guy that WOULD if you just offer. Now I wanna have my party at Medieval Times when I turn 40.
yes!!!!! ,Josh got the skill,he's perfect for this ,since kid he take this desert spirit, zeppelin sounds and psychedelic atmosphere
where are we gonna play next??? dave come to weymouth!!
good one!
(the mag. came out in like March and stayed on the shelves until july)
' i wound up smoking pot in the mens room at closing time, i was really dissapointed'
ahahah i love his sense of humor.
Grohl is one of the funniest guys in the world. That thing about the medieval times restaurant was hilarious
He had his 40th birthday party at Medieval Times?? Okay - can this guy be anymore perfect and awesome??
"I'm not the greatest drummer in the world.." Of course he is!! And I think he knows it too..
Nirvana
I always loved Dave, but I never understood how cool he was before this interview.
@JennyBelfast In Utero is.
Duuude... It's John Paul Jones and Josh Homme.
I'm sure all the members of his other bands wouldn't be offended. The level of talent in this band is definitely the highest he's ever had the opportunity to play with, so I don't blame him for saying that.
thanks you read my mind buddy
i love his long hair!
"He's a classically trained fucking genius!"
Great line.
Josh is an excellent player and with the style of music theyre playing I dont think they could have made a better choice for vocals. I think though, if they make more albums, and want some more guitar influenced songs, they might want to look into finding another lead guitarist.
@tommo800 so does pretty much every artist you listen to.
Lol Dave gets a little fanboyish.
They were amazing in Austin this year, both nights in a row!
good man, man
QOTSA and Rated R are some of the best modern rock albums. Much prefer those two to Nevermind. But respect your opinion.
I love how this videos about them crooked vultures a mixture of a post-grunge, classic rock and I don't remember what Josh's "politically correct" genre is yet you all are talking about grunge let it go talk about them crooked vultures not a music scene
I couldn´t have said it better !
2:57 ..... YES U R!!!
Yes, but then so many of them have got the wrong idea about "artistic integrity". You can completely be in it for the money, but as long as you like what you're doing, it's not selling out.
man, his birthday party sounds like it woulda been a lot of fun!!
c'mom buddy James on TCV??? i was a Metallica fan since 80's,but he's not hard rock and psychedelic oriented,Josh is an excellent player
lol love his english accent impression of JPJ at 3:35
@5thheadofcerberus Meet more musicians. we are out there. ;-)
but yea it is hard to find people you can lock into a groove with.
@Kozooro
I met Jimmy Page MAN!!! In Morocco. That was a good day
4:41
Best band he's been in? That takes down Foo and Nirvana... damn.
I don't think he's arrogant to say that he's been in some of the most successful bands in rock and played with some amazing musicians
@FlyingFooBalls
more than likely its split between that and people who actually care about artistic integrity
"And I invited all my friends to this Medieval (Restaurant) Restaurant." Lmao @4:02
He seems to just blurt things out sometimes. The bday party "we ended up smoking pot in the mens on my 40th birthday". He said in a few interviews he hasnt touched drugs since he was 20. Naughty naughty Mr Grohl we now know different. So funny.
no north dorset instead :L , you can have him ive seen foos 3 times and TCV 2wice. :D
its true what they say - he IS nice all the time :> which is nice!
solid band
Josh Homme, John Paul Jones. What rock do you live under?
"holy shit, this is the best fucking band ive ever been in" 4:41. this is so fucking exciting!
Heyheyhey!!! He is a fucking great Singer and guitarist!! :P
One class act.....thats all!
if by sold out, you mean became successful and fulfilled his dream of being a famous rock star, then yes he did.
someone who says a band sold out is someone who is jealous of not being as big.
he didn't sell out..he blasted himself !
@jek21 Cuddliest guy in the world, no question!
dave is ace
Ill agree with you in saying Bonham was the shit. Best there was, is, and ever will be. But Peart didnt always have the monster of a set he has today. He, at one time had a regular set and still kicked ass. Get Peart on a regular set and drum battle with Grohl and thats something I'd pay good money to see!
I wish I could've been at that birthday party lmao
Dave seems really really fucking cool.
No no, the Foo's are taking a break, they'll be baaaaack.
@desertblitzkrieg how can they not be the best at grunge if they invented grunge.....?
It's true lol
its just dave grohl has been my hero for so long..
5:50 - 5:51 clears his throat and changes the look on his face ASAP :D
@mistad00m lol I know that sounds like the best birthday party ever
lol thats exactly what i thought after watching this. he is just the man there is other way to explain it.
2:50 to ect the point where you say the part about a conversation between musicians.. i can do that but noone i know can and im frustrated!
god i wish i was dave grohl... what an awesome life!
'i smoked pot on my 40th birthday with josh homme and jpj'... bloody prick but go dave...
4:34, Dave Grohl takes a dump on Nirvana. Awesome.
FRESH POT!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't matter if he's playing with fucking animals, he was still playing the drums
yeah, wait, what? no fucking way thats happening. if so, i was in seattle when they played the last tour and the last one was only a few days after that
@davestone41 ...would sit and have a beer if you offered him one.
Lmfao he is so happy. Lazers. jousting. smoke machines and shit.... Damn that is a birthday! hahahaha
ahh, what a champ..
hes using pretty much the same style on this album, listen real hard, youll hear it
Damn you Dave Grohl! At nine o'clock at night I want to play drums: BUT I CAN'T!!!!
Dave Grohl would have been famous with or without Nirvana - Hes a very gifted drummer and a motivated guy . Foo Fighters was successful because of skilled music writing and good execution not because the drummer from Nirvana was in it wtf -
grohls the tits, funny man, his 40th sounded epic
@ooglizer grohl is better though...he was the drummer for qotsa's second album i think
