0:58 This just might be something I noticed because I am a superfan of Josh and Dave and have practically seen every bts video on the internet involving them, but if you ever watch the behind the scenes video of the making of Songs for the Deaf, that little fill Dave does at 0:58 is the same one he does when checking his level in the studio for the recording of that record as well.
i would be so happy and impressed to see Josh and Alain foolin around with the guitars and seeing Ghrol on drums would be like fucking amazing!!! but i would just stare at John Paul Jones like if i were in heaven! he rocks!!!
That drum bit right after he says "I'm Dave Grohl, damn it!" is amazing. Was that from Scumbag? If so, it sounds like he spruced it up a little. Either way, amazing.
its a bit complicated to explain but really easy to do, it is a triplet but he made it while playing a rythm... starts with the foot, is a double stroke, after that he plays a single right hand in the floor tom and ends with the left hand on snare, so it would be like this: K, K, R, L right after that is another kick drum with a right hit on the hi hats at the same time... K, K, R, L, K/R... i hope you understand it, cheers
Come back Vultures! Unite! LolI believe this band was ahead of its time - Super group full of sounds and ideas - hyper fuzz blues lol! Would love to see some new stuff!
He's played on every Tenacious D album, Songs For the Deaf by QOTSA and his Probot album and the song 'Watch This' off Slash's first solo album. Most likely done more though.
@blissmachine Fuck that's hutch ! Fucking legend! Didnt know what he looked like though. He was the soundman for DOA years back - Canadian punk rock fucken heroes
damn whatever happened with these sessions? This is almost like 3 years old and all we have are three songs. Hope we get to see the full thing eventually
@tomclick It's music, and it's personal. If you don't like it or it doesn't fit your apparently "high end" standard then there's plenty of other stuff you can listen to. This music moves a lot of people, and just because you're not of them it doesn't mean these guys are not creative. It's such a ridiculous statement to make about musicians like Homme, Grohl and Johannes.
@airsoftdelta0216 Aww shucks that's alright. That just means there's more of you to love.... I mean for the ladies.... anyways at least you've got great music taste ;) But to answer your original question I think Dave was just jamming. I don't think that drum beat is from any of their songs. However it does kind of sound like scumbag blues towards the end. But that's just me.
@tomclick Maybe you must find the creativity behind rock in an other place than polyrythms like 7/8, 5/4 & co.. And it seems to be an evidence that Dave Grohl wants to find the groove behind his fills, more than any jazz touch.
I get so mesmerised watching Dave when he's drumming
FUCK yeah!
*FRESH POT*
Oh please do another album!
Yes, PLEASE!!!!
I'm Dave Grohl dammit. *cutest smile ever*

one does not simply question the ginger Elvis' style preferences.
Thank god it's not just me! Hahaha Ginger Elvis rules.
Made me laugh out loud. Thanks.
It started off as a small handkerchief and now it is a flannel long sleeve shirt
