On the topic of engineers traveling to awesome places to test cars: can confirm this is a real thing. I worked in chassis development and vehicle dynamics for an OEM for years and the “test plans” often look more like a vacation itinerary than a set of validation tests.

Thanks for answering my question! I'm looking at a 2015 m6 gran coupe now which is much more reasonable than the f90 price-wise imo and looks better than the f10 m5.
PS I haven't owned a Gallardo, but I plan on buying one eventually!

Good choice. I actually own a 2015 M6 Gran Coupe with a manual & love it. Its sporty enough to have fun with & yet still has enough room for 4 adults with luggage. The F90 M5 is deff faster & the AWD makes it even a better daily driver. But it doesn't have the exotic looks of the F06 M6.

What's crazy is the Pagani Huayra is not any faster then a standard Supercar on track. However the Huayra BC has beaten the Senna on a few tracks. That's a massive performance increase and the car is second in look only to the Apollo IE for me. I would take a BC over a Koenigsegg any day except maybe the One:1 cause that car is crazy as well. However I would take a Pista, 765LT, and a TRX over a Huayra any day. Or a SF90 Stradale, Taycan Turbo S and a 3500 Ram Diesel and a enclosed trailer over a Huayra.

My 996 had the engine go in similar fashion to Tyler Hoovie. I got it for $6000 needing a IMS bearing, RMS and some minor stuff.
I ended up swapping a LS6 into it pretty easily. It wasn't expensive to do myself and could probably be done for under $15k total.

    Awesome to have Jethro on.
But I can't understand one thing: That he thinks used cars are expensive in the US. No, they're generally not. The prices he named are the same here in continental Europe; it's just that the prices in the UK are SO low for used cars that it completely distorts his view on prices. If I buy a V10 M5 for 15 or 16k here, ít's gonna have a dead engine. It needs to be easily 30k (and then probably still has a dead engine, because V10 M5).

Gas prices really don't have much to do with the president or federal policy as the federal gas tax doesn't fluctuate often. In the US it has more to do with crude oil market value and locality. States and counties impose flat tax rates on gasoline independent of the federal tax which is why CA and specifically LA has some of the highest gas prices in the US.
