- Tanner Foust is a racing driver, stunt driver, and television host. He's competed in drifting and time attack but currently focuses on rally cross, racing for Volkswagen. He's had multiple podium placements, national championships, and world records across these disciplines. If it has wheels, he can drive it. We talk to him about rally cross, jumping trucks a few hundred feet, stunt driving on "Ford vs Ferrari", other stunt jobs he's done, and flying planes. @tannerfoust

Despite internet know-it-all's, Tanner is good people. Met him kart racing at the SuperNationals (Vegas) way back when doing the machisimo 500. Nothing but nice. Great job on the podcast guys!
I was there! I hung out with him for a while. I Have known Tanner since the FD days. Such a class act. It was 4 years between events when i saw him and he looked up, saw me and walked up to say hi.

I’ve got thousands of hours of seat time in my life. Tanner is a real Drivers Driver. He can drive anything, fast and well in control. Love to watch him drive. And Drivers Inc is a helluva team. Give them a follow on IG.
Haha the flying stuff and the crew car at the FBO...my brother got his pilot's license as a senior in high school and one time we went on a "$100 burger" trip to fly and get lunch...we ended up in Modesto (after landing in Madera and they said "yeah there's no food here"); when we got to Modesto they said "there's no food here either BUT we have a car you can borrow to drive into town, we can give you a listing of restaurants nearby!" and they gave us keys to a (rather clean, well-kept, stock) *brown 1978 Oldsmobile sedan with a red velour interior and a giant V8* and we _rolled in balla style_ to our diner lunch. It was all quite hilarious!

I've wanted to be a pilot my whole life, always been obsessed with planes (alongside cars) and I loved to build really big RC planes from scratch as a kid. Every time I hear someone talk about flying like Tanner was it pushed me a little closer to taking the dive.

Try and find a small airport with a small mom and pop kind of flight school where you can just pay as you go. I think it's a much better experience than the big corporate schools that just want to push you through and collect your money at the other end. And it's much better if you're doing it for the fun of flying and not looking to make a career out of it, even if you are it will be much cheaper.

A good in between for flying is get Flight Simulator. I was going to get my license when I was younger, but I wouldnt have been able to do it as a job. So I didnt do it. Now 15 years later I thought about getting my license, but it still doesnt make sense just for fun. So I'm thinking for $1000 I can get a decent setup to do Flight Simulator. Then I can go anywhere, I can fly anything, dont have to spend a couple hundred bucks an hour to fly, and the biggest positive no death.

@@bleedsblue0023 for normal people, 30 fps is pretty acceptable. This isn't a competitive shooting game, it is a flight simulator. You can probably run it at lowered settings with slightly less graphical fidelity on more mid range hardware. Not all gamers consider anything less than 120 fps at 4k ultra settings "unplayable".
