Great video and great riding. I think the tyres are Karoo 3 and they appear to work well and seemingly give you confidence in these types of conditions.

what are your thoughts s? its not released here in India yet .. but when it does I'm booking it .. I had the old 650 parallel twin ..thinking of this instead of the 1200 gs base version ..
honestly .. my riding would be around 70-30 road to off road .. because to get to the trails I need to cover a lot of distance .. which is why I want an adventure tourer .. its between this or the Africa twin , I've ridden the AT ..ITS A GREAT BIKE .. but I still want to enjoy the gears till I go DCT .. I love the specs and the quick shifter and slipper clutch package offered on this bike .. is the power enough on road? my sweet spot would be between 80 to 120 ..dont intends on going above that for too long .. Indian roads can be quite unpredictable.. \ How are the brakes off road? does the 21 front really compromise on the cornering or is it just something you get used to .. this would be the only bike I own so since I won't be used to a street bikes cornering capabilities . I would think it would be flickable , since I would have nothing to compare it with .. sorry for all the questions . . but imv ery keen on this bike .. and they haven't launched it here yet..frustrating the wait
@@sidkarnick Me personally preferred the BMW over the Africa Twin. The BMW feels more nimble. The power is about the same. Comfort seems better on the AT. Equipment is not even comparable, the BMW is far ahead. Traction-Controll on the AT is useless offroad, but the engine is Honda, so thats pretty flat and predictable. BMW has a bit more exciting engine, not necessarily better. 21" is just something to get used to, at the relatively low speeds you will be doing its just fine. It gives better comfort on bad roads.
fantastic .. thank you for your answers and your prompt reply .. 3 more questions pls .. hows the clutch lever ?..is it relatively light .. with old 650 had a heavier one so in traffic ( and Mumbai has ALOT of it) my palm would get a little stiff .. I hear in the new 850 they've paid special attention to it and made it lighter .. and the brake lever , they have an adjustment so that when you are standing and riding makes it easier to break? does it work ? Im 5 feet 11 inches tall .. would I need to put handle bar risers? I'm sorry , I know these questions will be answered once I see the bike .. but they say here it won't be available till end of the year..and BMW India isn't reliable when it comes to their promises of launch dates .. so like an excited child I'm frustrated when I can't get the candy I really want .
@@sidkarnick It has a slipper-clutch, so its very light! The bike itself is not superlight, but it feels light and nimble because of the chassis and setup. Much lighter than the AT for example. Not shure if you would need risers, i think it would be better to bring a tool for tilting the bars for on/offroad riding. Haha, all men are like kids when they see something they really want 😂
I'm never going to let you ride my bike :) Good riding though and looks to be a very capable bike in those somewhat suss conditions. It looks like the tyres on the bike work good. Impressive and shames what my 1250GS & I would/could do in the same conditions.
@@Urkain87 In fact, you were using the engine as it should be used. Have only been riding the 850 GS for 1000kms, mostly on dirt roads, and i find the motor sort of wants to be revved whereas the 1250 did not inspire me to gas it up. Not that the 1250 needed to be revved but with the 60/40 tyres i ran, traction was an issue. The 850 in Enduro mode works good and with the reduced power/torque and the way it comes on, provides more rear wheel traction on dirt etc than the 1250. And i think the 850 sounds better too. More involving. Mechanically, noisy engines though :(
Dynamic ESA in the front, cardang and telelever. 1250 is better for touring, 850 is better for "extreme" offroad. 850 is a bang for the buck machine :)
I had a 1250 GSA and now an 850GS. As @Urkain87 writes below, 1250 for touring & road use with easier off-road & 850 GS for same with harder off-road. I am finding the 850 with the different engine firing order more entertaining & involving and it seems more willing to be ridden harder. Begs for it actually, so have to constrain myself.
Thanks for letting us hear the bikes and not ruining it with crap music! Great vid!
This is officially my dream bike, you made this thing look like so much fun.
It's an all together good bike. I've tried most of the competitors, and I liked the F850GS ADV best.
@@Urkain87Is this a GS ?
@suleymanmutlu6176 yes, F850GS
@@Urkain87Why F850GSA not a standard F850GS? GSA weighs almost 250kg
man, you are nuts!
that was an amazing show.
beautiful bike and the island is a pearl.
:)
It's really a great bike! Have one myself and went to Sardinia last September!! Thanks for sharing a great video ;-)
Awesome :)
Splendid engine sound.

Awesome balancing on such a good speed while doing offroading.. amazing machine.. complimented with amazing riding skills
Thank you very much :)

Woow! How amazing, so happy to bring joy to your home!
My humble greetings to you and your young ones :)
@@Urkain87 thank you so much brother. Ride safe and god bless you and your family
This is what ADV are made for
Giro fantastico off road, bellissimo sporcarsi di fango così. 😀
That was fun to watch. Thanks.
That 850 soldiering thru those large puddles took on the personality of a bronc.
😂
The new BMW850 is a dream machine. Thanks for the video. Good thing it was raining you may have injured yourself LOL. That is some FUN stuff there.
You like going through puddles don't you?
Mmmm, yes, those deep puddles were just begging for a splash 😂
Nice looking trails great fun 🤘
Yes, this was a really cool day :)
How do you sit down with balls that big? Impressive riding.
😄😄👍
Monstrueux 👏👏👏 good amazing ✌️✌️ amphibie 😂
Nice video in the rough terrain but you should have spoken a few words along the journey about the bikes performance
Yea, i agree, will try to do better next time :)
Like the constructive criticism!
His laughs and giggles were enough!
I thought his genuine enthusiasm and chuckles spoke volumes.
Do you have any more info about the ride? like time of year for example and the distance covered? Thanks :)
Something like 80km long ride. It's late summer(August) after a longer period without rain(allmost 3 weeks I think). Very rare conditions around here.
@@Urkain87 Thank you! :)
This video made me buy an 850GSA
Awesome! Did you like the bike? :)
@@Urkain87 not sure yet! Picking it up saturday but I loved the test ride
@@zachecho9167 I'm shure it will give you some good times :D
This is great
Did you pop a wheelie toward the end? Rain mode, 2nd gear?
I don't remember, but i doubt it was a wheelie, needs some help with the clutch :)
And now the 2019 looks even better
It looks different?
Shit, that screens good.
It's the best IMHO :)
