You are the best! The way you explain and the examples you give, are just perfectly clear. I am hooked. I could stay for hours just watching you. Thanks so much for your guidance. You are a blessing!
i am so glad i came a cross your videos. I took a 4 week on line class and I am totally lost. This has helped me a lot. I will be taking a medical and billing class that is taught in person because this is a lot to learn. Thank you
Thank you for this video! I was lost in where to find the external causes until you said, they're after the Index to Disease and Injuries. I was lost trying to find them! Whew. You're just the best!
I am so happy to have come across your channel. I have just been laid off from my medical billing job of 5 years. I'm planning on taking the anatomy/medical terminology and CPC course from the AAPC online in June 2020. Your explanations on these topics will be very helpful in my learning. Thank you 😊
I so enjoy your tutorials regarding Medical Coding....I'm not lost anymore! THANK YOU! You, like myself, couldn't talk if your hands were tied! :D Please consider advancing with Volume II. You're great. Gaylan C.
Hello CodeMasterCoach! Your channel has been very useful in my study of ICD-10-CM. I look forward to more of your videos because you explain the subject matter very clearly and concise. Thank you for being generous in sharing your gift of knowledge.
Hey coach this is the area of coding that I am most familiar with. I work as a Trauma Registrar for a Level 2 Trauma hospital so I am used to working with these codes on a daily basis. One thing that is always reiterated to us about external cause injury coding is that they tell a story of how a patient sustained their injuries.
Thank you for this video! I'm working on my CPC certification directly through AAPC, and I find External Cause Coding so difficult! Your video helps, though - thanks again!
I have not gotten into training or school yet,but I've been watching these videos of yours and delissa Ortega's medical coding academy and I am catching on to this,I am soon to start working on my GED now,and will soon start so I xsn get credentialed and work from home to rake care if my wife
Hi Coach! Your videos are a dynamite combination with my AHIMA Coding and Reimbursement class. I am, however, having slight issues with finding certain terms to look up in the external cause index. For example, on my most recent exam, I had the following question... "Assign the external cause code(s) for an Air Force officer who was injured while on patrol on the military base in Afghanistan by an explosion of an IED." The codes I got were Y36.230A, Y32.139, Y99.1 All were correct except for the first code, in which they got Y37.230A I searched explosion, war operations (because they were in Afghanistan on patrol). That led me to war operations, explosion, improvised explosive device (IED). Any tips on a question like this? I thought I followed precisely lol.
When do you code, after all the results come back? If the person was drugged, how can you prove she didn’t take and drink and had backwash or that someone drugged her. Just me thinking
Thank you. In the search bar at the top of the page in TH-cam, type in CodeMasterCoach and it will take you to my channel. When you get there, click the "Videos" tab and it will list all of my videos from the newest to the oldest. Start with the oldest video and move forward.
I have a medical coding step by step book (2018 Step by Step Medical Coding by Carol J. Buck) and it's got practice questions. One of the questions is "What is the injured person code for a driver of an ATV (off-road vehicle) who was injured when he collided with a fence?" and in my ICD-10-CM by the AMA the most I can find is V86.55 and the answer that my text book has is V86.595XA I can't find what that means anywhere. I know that the A is a seventh character but the code is 8 characters long and there's an X which as I've come to understand is a place holder to get to the 7th character. I'm really confused where they got the "95XA" in V86.595XA. Please help!!
You are correct EnixPho. The correct code is V86.55XA as you chose. That must be a typo in the book. I currently don't use that book but since you do, if you go online to her website, there is probably a document with necessary corrections already posted. If not, let her know what you found right there on the website.
Virginia Young, that index is used to describe the details about the circumstances. Until I get the video out, I promise is you will spend time reviewing the External Cause Index, you will be amazed. I call it the "Who", "What", "Where", etc. to the disease process.
I love watching your videos BUT I hate that clicking noise in background and you're camera is extremely blurry... I do love your helpful information on each subject!!!!! I am retaking my CPC this saturday

Hi code master
can you provide work for indians such as job like remote medical coding
Wish I could Prudhyi Raj. But I am not ready to take on such an endeavor yet. I want to start a school for medical coding first.
M certified medical coder from India, can I get a job in u.s.a as a medical coder
The only issues I'm aware of is the software not being licensed for other countries. But, I understand that remote companies are working on that.
No our jobs are for our citizens
