RAF Fairford 22-05-24 - 4K

Yesterday I waited four hours for ten minutes of action. Why four hours? On Monday two B-52s arrived at RAF Fairford from Minot AFB; one at lunchtime and one at dinnertime. Two were on the way yesterday, so decided to risk it, left home and drove 2h55. Whilst en route, one of the BUFFs canx and RTB. So I hoped the one coming was the lunchtime arrival.
Luckily it came near 1600 instead of 1800 as six hours waiting in the rain would've been hellish.
I've never got decent footage of the U-2, so very happy with this despite the control tower spoiling the touchdowns, the very soggy conditions and shooting through fences.

I know how you feel. We have a B-52H visiting us at the old AFB in Loring, Maine and I thought it was going to take off back to Minot this morning. Stood in the awful heat; not leaving until tomorrow. "Heavy Hauler" which I believe had recently been in the UK.
