Tim, whenever I hear you solo, it's pure gold in terms of originality, tastefulness, and being a perfect fit for whatever piece of music in whatever genre you happen to play. You are a true guitar wonder and an inspiration. Thank you.
Your my hero, the passion and exuberance when you play the guitar and the buttery smooth lines omg can’t even explain how I feel. Wish I could be a percent closer to that in my own playing. And on top, those amps what a sweet collection. Thanks Tim for uploading such amazing reviews and guitar lessons.
Traveler? I remember Traveler! Especially when you played that little bar just east of Ned's. You, Peter on that cool Alembic, Tom and drummer (name Doug? Not sure I remember. I think Andy Poling played with you for a time). Maybe the guitar isn't named after your old band, but the moniker brought back memories. I am very happy for you and all your success, Tim. Something to be said for knowing exactly what you want to do from a young age.
Have you tried using the JamStik Studio? It’s a polyphonic MIDI + analog guitar. It’s also a very small headless guitar. You’d probably love it for travel . . . but more so for writing and transcribing music into your favorite DAW! These guitars are well reviewed. They are a modified ALP Leaf-100 with Zivix’s hardware and cones with free software included (but it’s compatible with any MIDI software on your computer and phone). They’re $799 MSRP but often can be gotten for $650-$699 (and I’ve seen for less if you catch a sale). The Studio stays in tune for DAYS. My big gripe is that the Studio is only available in 25.5”, which is why I like the guitar you’re showing in this video. I also wish tuning the Studio wouldn’t require a teeny little magnetic Allen wrench (stored in the bridge), which makes the travel guitar you’re showing quite interesting since there are tuning heads in the body. Pretty neat guitar you’re showing!
I knew this would be a great video from the title! I love how you’re taking pieces of exercises and using them musically/tastefully. Thanks for always sharing your top notch perspective/wisdom Tim! As someone working to break into the session world (and the TH-cam world) your channel is invaluable!
I think ur my favorite guitar player I’ve looked up many as I’m learning but not one has a smile while they play the way u do brother thanks for being a fatherly inspiration in my journey in this wheelchair bound life of perspective growth what ever that means lol sorry my mind just goes through faulty expressions could never get the words out but thanks for taking the time to teach me these things
It's your gift brother of intuitively knowing what to do when! And thank you for reminding me not to sound like I'm playing the scales I practice when improvising a solo!
Great video!! I just recently received this guitar in Vintage Black. With only a few days of having it, I can strongly recommend!! The full 24.75" scale length is exactly like my Gibson Les Pauls...perfect! I'll probably install 10-52 strings, but this Traveler guitar will encourage you to play more, not only when traveling...it's awesome to have at home...so light and convenient. Thanks for the demo!
Pretty cool axe..! What would make it even cooler is the fact that Tim actually played it..! Talk about GREAT MOJO..!!!👍🏼❤️ And thanks Tim.. for the exercises.. I was just wondering what to work on today..and now I know..!!👍🏼🤣
Your playing us just such an inspiration! And I would LOVE to own this traveller guitar. Thank you for working with Sweetwater to give things to your subscribers.
It all depends on how you practise. A warm up shoildn't hurt your playing as long as you are expressing musical ideas instead of just repeating patterns over and over and painting yourself into a corner.
Tim, Love your playing style. It's like budda! Your enthusiasm and approach really inspire me to attempt to get better everytime I play. Thanks so much!
Your tone and melodies are just so iconic and really hit me in the feels. You can play a simple scale or arpeggio, and I buy it musically because of your groove/pocket.
I just want to say that your guitar work on the "Bat out of Hell II" Album (Back into Hell)1993 Was superb and I still listen to it with the same enjoyment as i did then when I was only 10 years old. Your lessons and videos continue to inspire myself and countless others. Thank you for sharing your guitar knowledge with us all.
I think I almost get as much joy listening to Tim play guitar as he seems to have playing the guitar. Still waiting for the Tim Pierce blues/rock solo album. Where do I pre-buy?
Been following since Marty and Stasche introduced him to the internet. So expressive with stubby fingers like mine! Heard from neighbor who visited him he’s the same regular guy in person. Get the masterclass!
Based on the ease of tuning next to the right hand I think it is preferable to have standard tuners such as on the EG-1, but that’s personal preference. The truss rod and action are excellent. Very simple and utilitarian. The design of these guitars is an elegant evolution in the history of the instrument.
Hi Tim. Great Video as usual. I'm wondering , have you contributed to any Shinedown Music ? I'm sure there are other guitaists out there with the same name but I'm curious if it was you. Stay safe. 🎸🎸🎸
Thanks for this Tim, is that little guitar solid as far as intonation and stability is concerned? Have you tried the more budget-friendly EG versions of the Traveller - any thoughts on that as regards my questions above? Thanks for being there! All best, Mark
How do I take delivery of my first traveler the SAME day Tim demos one... I got the ultralight, and it's really good, neck is a bit chunky for me, but can't expect everything...
I scrapped that crap wrap around tuning for a fixed bridge setup on my original traveler. Would go out of tune constantly. Is the esp version a contoured top?
Can you talk about how you hold your pick? Direction, how stiff or lightly you hold it, and how it affects your fretting depending upon how you’re holding it? Seems like you’re barely holding that thing!
Hey Tim, could you do a video on your work with Rascal Flatts? Especially if you had anything to do with ‘Life is a highway’ - it seems to me that your fingerprints are all over it, but maybe I’m wrong :)
Not a chance in hell I’ll ever get that 4-2-6 stretch clean….I even tried using other hand to place fingers on strings ,and it just ain’t happening without major muting of the D string…so that’s humbling
I think I see on replaying that you’re not holding all strings at once …..so there is hope lol….wish you had tab for those exercises via a separate link ,but I suppose I can screen shot and printout to have in Front of me
Aux in is cool but most cell phones don't have aux outs anymore to force you to pay for bluetooth headphones. 🤨 should have made it bluetooth capable. Could buy an external Bluetooth module to achieve it.
Hi. I have a newer iPhone and bought a small Apple adapter that goes into the rectangular charge plug on the bottom of the phone and it has the 3.5mm female round plug like on the guitar. It’s a short adapter with cable about 2” long. The 3.5mm cables are inexpensive and easy to get to connect between phone and guitar. I use this adapter for my regular headphones as well like on the plane. There is a problem with latency using Bluetooth, I tried all sorts of Bluetooth stuff but latency would not play tracks or music in time with my guitar playing.
Tim, whenever I hear you solo, it's pure gold in terms of originality, tastefulness, and being a perfect fit for whatever piece of music in whatever genre you happen to play. You are a true guitar wonder and an inspiration. Thank you.
I really appreciate it thanks
I couldn't have said it better. 🎸🎸🎸
Love this!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hey Rick 😉🙌
All the tips from Tim have helped my playing immensely. Thanks Tim. Love from Nepal.
When Tim cuts away to his evening walks it brings me great peace.
Love watching you play. You always look so happy to be doing it. And of course always sounds great.
Your my hero, the passion and exuberance when you play the guitar and the buttery smooth lines omg can’t even explain how I feel. Wish I could be a percent closer to that in my own playing. Thanks for doing the giveaway of the Traveler EC-1. Also, thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Thank you for the beginner videos in the Masterclass !
That is a fine look at the inside of studio playing. I take away a bit of sunshine for a new day. dcb
It never fails that when I watch your videos, or take one of the Master Class lessons, I always learn something important, and meaningful!

I'm a firm believer in ear training but it took nearly 40 years to figure that out.
I have a Steinberger spirit......excellent for practicing at the desk. I took it and a Laney supergroup mini on the plane...perfect!
Tim's rhapsodic face....my favorite Saturday viewing. Oh, and he plays pretty good tooooo.... ;^)
Thank you Mr. Pierce!
Every time I watch you play I. Want to practice, cheers 😄
It's your gift brother of intuitively knowing what to do when! And thank you for reminding me not to sound like I'm playing the scales I practice when improvising a solo!

I wanted a guitar with that form factor for a very long time. Wow.
Is Tim the most melodic guitarist? Hard to find anyone better. So refreshing.
Willie thanks so much for the first comment! I appreciate the kind words
@@timpierceguitar Hi Tim I think there is a spammer in the mix. Check my first comment and then yours and he is below
I'm better in my own lunchbox and dreams 🤣 . You're right though most underrated player ever
Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Great playing and a damn good attitude.
I almost bought that guitar, but went with the full sized version of the violet shadow..it's a beautiful guitar.
Tim,
Love your playing style. It's like budda! Your enthusiasm and approach really inspire me to attempt to get better everytime I play.

@Boner McGillicuddy Nothing is my own, I'm just recycled TV, Radio and parents. I think feels come from 2010s bro memes.
This is a great "Little" guitar! Small Footprint, HUGE Sound! I have that exact model/color. Thanks Tim!
Love that guitar, but also thanks for the update on the speaker booth. And those scales.
Really cool guitar and sounds incredible in your hands.
Nice video and guitar , thanks Tim!
Always love the view from the hills! Have you re-landscaped yet?
Been playing my Escape MkII. Love these guitars!
Love learning from your videos.
Your channel is a lesson learned every time I watch. THANK YOU TIM !
Yep...have an EC-1 too. Great guitar for travel. I take a little Blackstar amp on the road too. Guitar and amp...small footprint...big sound.
I just want to say that your guitar work on the "Bat out of Hell II" Album (Back into Hell)1993

He has that old Guitarland album...which is superb. I've asked him before....we need a new one!
Man! You have Royer mics, I'm so jealous. So sweet for guitar.
That is a sweet guitar. Hits all the notes (no pun intended). 😄
I have one of those traveler guitars. They are great for practicing quietly in hotel rooms but very difficult to keep in tune.
Been following since Marty and Stasche introduced him to the internet. So expressive with stubby fingers like mine! Heard from neighbor who visited him he’s the same regular guy in person. Get the masterclass!
Great suggestions and great guitar😍Really want it!
And nice playing as usual!
First time comment from Hong Kong!
..my God man.. you make it look so easy..always a pleasure to catch your videos..always new..always different..thanks
⚓️ Thanks Tim 😎
Thanks Tim. Good video
Absolutely loved it! I want that guitar so much! it would be my first travel guiar, so modern built, really hope to win :) Greetings from Argentina
He’s just sooooo frickin good!!!
great exercise!
Great playing. Love the backing track.
What a beautiful little guitar. Time to get back into playing I think.
Tim, I don't have any sweet comments about your playing. I havnt listened much. But, you must give me that guitar!!!! You know this.
What a taste! Excellent.
Thanks for the inspiring thoughts Tim
Tim I've had this question for a while, why do you use three eventide v4s? Is this to bypass the limit or is the unit really that good.
Superb as always
Ray, Thank you so much 😀
Hi Tim, Great Playing,...does your Left Hand ever, Fall off the End,...Cheers!
I like Michael Schenker's solos. Huge vocabulary.
Steve Hackett is also very good.
ditto!!!!!
Despite the looks and size. The neck of these guitar is such a joy to play. It’s wide, thicc enough and play like butter.
friken excellent as always !
I'm gonna be studying abroad the next months and I was just looking for a travel guitar, this would be awesome
Awesome as ever Tim
Great review Tim. I wonder how this compares to the Blackstar Carry On?
I have it in quoted maple brown. Sweet.
Quilted. Not quoted. Damn autocorrect.

This guitar actually looks handy. It's kinds weird having the tuners on the body. I'd definitely like to try one though.
Hi Tim. Great Video as usual. I'm wondering , have you contributed to any Shinedown Music ? I'm sure there are other guitaists out there with the same name but I'm curious if it was you. Stay safe. 🎸🎸🎸
Fantastic playing always a treat thanks
Amazing guitar plaing
Tim- look up diagonal ear lobe creases. It could save your life. You appear to have them on yours.
You have so many wonderful toys! :)
I like using fast fret !
Good on ya to give away a guitar, mate! 😀👍
That's a pretty cool guitar.
sweet guitar!!
Thanks for this Tim, is that little guitar solid as far as intonation and stability is concerned? Have you tried the more budget-friendly EG versions of the Traveller - any thoughts on that as regards my questions above? Thanks for being there! All best, Mark
I've tried teaching my guitars to exercise but they're always falling over and denting the headstock.
Hey Tim! How can I get the backing track for the lick you played?
How do I take delivery of my first traveler the SAME day Tim demos one... I got the ultralight, and it's really good, neck is a bit chunky for me, but can't expect everything...
Are those cabinets in your vault?
Much respect...
That amp is a monster!
How change string on that guitar?
I scrapped that crap wrap around tuning for a fixed bridge setup on my original traveler. Would go out of tune constantly. Is the esp version a contoured top?
Top video as usual, a've payed ma nosey club this month so, have you ever used the wee guitar on a proper session Tim? 🥃👍Respect to you.
Awesome! And what a strange little guitar. Sounds good, though.
Can you talk about how you hold your pick? Direction, how stiff or lightly you hold it, and how it affects your fretting depending upon how you’re holding it? Seems like you’re barely holding that thing!
Cute. Guitar ‘s not bad too 😜
Infinite Jets!
Its a cool guitar, apart from the fret markers! The shape looks distracting!

Omg a guitar with a headphone amp. First I've seen that
Ok…. But with a MEGA suitcase like that (1:45) you can carry 20 full size guitars with you! 😂
The winner isn’t Chris Buck is it?
Wish they made a lefty!!
Not the prettiest of guitars, but handy for someone that has a use for one.
