Groove, dynamics, melody, harmonies, syncopation, soul, heritage ... Lowell one of my heroes, from one of my all-time favourite bands from my favourite era. So grateful to have experienced 70s music & film during my lifetime✌️
Saw them in Little Rock as a teen in the mid '70s. They were packaged at the time with other southern rock bands. I think it was Marshall Tucker or Charlie Daniels that were with them.
Saw them in college in Boston in 1978. Amazing! The whole place was up and dancing. Left the show and got a scalped ticket to the late show and did it all over again. Maybe the best concerts of my life.
"Oh oh off our rockers acting crazy and with the right medication we won't be lazy". "You know that you're over the hill when your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill" -Old Folks Boogie. Spanish Moon, Cold Cold Cold are two other great songs. RIP Lowell and Paul Barrere.
Good heavens, talk about the perfect combination of six overwhelmingly talented musicians converging together at the right point in time! Doesn’t get any better than when The Feat hit one of their fantastic funky grooves and just roll on their swampy, R&B, Naw’lins rhythms. This era of music in the 70’s was unsurpassed in its creativity. So sorry and jealous that I never got to see them during Lowell’s time. Sadly missed opportunity. I did finally catch up with them when they reunited to carry the torch forward to honor Lowell and the bands history. Thank god for film footage like this as well as a monstrous body of recorded work. Rest in Eternal Musical Grooves Lowell, Kenney and Paul 🎶🎵🎶

And I'm pretty sure they were with either Marshal Tucker or Charlie Daniels when I saw them. Fred Tackett is from Little Rock. And yes, thank goodness for the archival footage of this amazing band!
I have seen every line up of this band since 1973. They were great with Lowell but great since and the new line up is sensational. Thanks for keeping this music alive boys!
I wasn't born and raised on this but I found my way to this as a teenager during the eighties, because it was better than the crap playing on the radio/MTV. Jay
Such a great Band. Lowell left us too soon and left a huge hole in the industry. These guys just jam, such a good vibe and it just worked. They were great then and their music is still great now. Little Feat forever baby!
In 1972 in SF CA, at the Cow Palace they played for a week with Doctor Hook and several other bands. It was a big promotion by a Pacific Stereo Electronics store. It was for a full week. The concert was an all day event that started around 10 am to midnight. I went most of that week. It was FREE!
over the years, I started to realize the immense impact these artists played on our music...so much talk and hype about the Grateful Dead...not knowing how awesome "Little Feat" were.
Lowell was a close friend of the GD and produced one of their albums- LF deserve every accolade,no need to somehow diminish the GD legacy to prop up LF..😭
The Dead weren't the best at what they did. They were just the only ones that did it. That, and...wtf, it's only a buck! Get yours now! Yummy yummy, dollar doses.
Everything about this is stunning to a rabid Little Feat fan. Bill Payne had natural ability (those hands) and immense talent. Whoever placed the camera so we could see him play should also have a monument or at least an honorable mention. Edit: I've read just about all the comments here and and each brings something interesting to light and mostly shows we all knew good music when we heard it and no it's not just embellished memories, It really was a landmark time in music and um, fun. A lot of damn fun.
I saw Bill Payne play with Randy Newman. James Taylor and others at Red Rocks in Colorado in the late '70's after LG passed. I still remember watching him play...
@@db_rambleon Pretty sure he's still touring with the latest rendition of Little Feat along with a couple of other original members, such as the percussionist.
I got to see these guys on the Waiting For Columbus tour and the had the Tower Of Power horn section with them to boot. It was in a theatre and the sound was amazing. Orleans was the opening band. Amazing show it was.
I saw them on that tour. June 13 in Sacramento. John Hall Band opened (I think he had just left Orleans). Audio here: th-cam.com/video/Ep31YxVBuz4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=A7GBa5eItbsUgMla
Never got to see 'em live, but I've been listening to their stuff for decades. Hell, their sound-quality is so good that I've been using 'Feat tunes as "EQ music" for setting-up PA systems by ear for most of the 50 yrs that I've been a live sound engineer.
Saw them live in Stuttgart, West Germany, back in 1975, where they opened for the Stones. I love the Stones but the Feat blew them away. Been a big fan ever since - and I still love the Stones!
I remember putting the album on side one performing the ceremony of stems and seeds on the open cover every afternoon. Man I smoked a lot of weed with this band hard to believe it was almost fifty years ago. Damn I’m getting old. Hey! Don’t Bogart that joint pass it over to me.
I went to Santa Maria High School in 1964 I think Bill Payne was in my class. He is a class act when it comes to playing the piano. Great smooth style, effortless rhythm. Respectfully John Guidice

I'm so in Love with Lowell George! I grew up in Macon and Chattanooga, so of course I heard the Feat on my AM/FM pocket radio,, but never saw what they looked like until a year ago when I really got into my TH-cam premium music...zomg, LOVE!!* Mr George is the epitome of sexy hot attractiveness - mainly I think, because he was so understated. Not overdoing the rockstar god thing, but the consummate professional, imo, of course. I realize that the band has gotten back together - and they're REALLY good - but without their coverall wearing little fat man in a bathtub guy, jamming his ass off- I just can't get into it 😢😢❤🎉🎉😊
My dad was there. Talks about it from time to time. Got to see dead and company with him many times, first time going to little feat in a couple months!
My freshman year in college Fall, 1977 my new roommate was playing Sailin' Shoes when I came back from class. I asked who is this? and he proceeded to introduce me to Lowell and the boys. Went to see them at Red Rocks right after the spring term was over. I think I might still have the ticket stub.
Weaponized ads from google have me solemnly swearing to never purchasing anything advertised on the TH-cam platform, ever. Time for me to find another obsession.

Then that low down southern whiskey began to fog my mind
And I don't remember church bells or the money I put down
