The greatest story song in the history of rock and roll. You have to crack a smile listening to this song! Lowell George playing slide with his 5/8 Craftsman socket.
Besides ABB live at the Fillmore East this is the other greatest live albums ever recorded in the history of Rock & Roll!! Tower of Power Horns with Little Feat on this album. The ABB and Little Feat were the 2 best live Bands ever in no order. Just Marvelous saw both original bands more times than I probably deserved!! I don't even mean that. Blessed is what I am❤❤
The guitar work between George and Barrere in the segue into Tripe Face Boogie is some serious playing. You play the guitar, I'll bring the wine. On the subject of greatest live albums: Waiting For Columbus ranks very near the top of my personal live album favorites list. Little Feat has influences in many genres and this album demonstrates that. The musicianship in LF (this lineup) is among the best for any American band I have listened to.
Amen bro! I love Southern Rock!!! Not even mentioning The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, Marshall Tucker, The Outlaws, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Mothers Finest, The Dreggs...and so many others! DAMN FINE MUSIC!
This is where "fatback rock"was founded Mid 70's...I cried when Lowell George passed. If ever I open a live music club...what could I call it except the Spanish Moon? Some of the best lyrics EVER!!! 13:10
True that. This performance was in 1978. People who were born that year have kids heading off to college now. And there's not one note that sounds dated. Some of the best players who ever plugged into an amp.
This is perhaps one of the finest live performances in the history of boogie woogie, rock and roll. I thought it was lost to us as one connected thing, like we all remember from the CD. I mean, who has a CD player today. (Well I do, but the Smithsonian has my eight track deck now) Whoever did this you are a god among DJs everywhere for this. Pu'raise the Lor' for Vittory! Subscribed and sharing, from now on. Thank You
Bill Frankell they are great on vinyl two album set....but...live in NYC....Lowell red nose and all were....well no words and and did I mention front row seats...gods honest truth...he passed away a few weeks later and I never saw Little Footsie again. Moved on to Punk scene but this here IMHO is the pinnacle. Did u get to see them?
@@badass.bob1 If your a FEAT FAN it is THE GREATEST ! ..if your NOT a FEAT FAN ...it STILL is the GREATEST LIVE PERFORMANCE EVER RECORDED ! ....only real true music lovers could appreciate such RnR diversity ?
This album alone should put the band in some kind of HOF. The Cleveland Hall is a sad insult to American and British rock, but there should be a separate "Rock and Funk" or "Funk and Roll" Hall of Fame for bands that really got inside the funk groove and still kept the boogie alive. This is one live album I always go back to for enjoyment pleasure. So to me this is the best live rock album of all time. Next would be Cream's "Wheels of Fire" live side. And even now, with Lowell, Ritchie and Paul rockin' in the heavens, this is still a great live band.
LF is one of my most favorite bands, I saw them 8 times. The best was the Valley Forge music fair where the stage moved slowly in a circle. I was in the front row watching Richie work his set like the pro he is.
Their brilliance is timeless. Blessed to see them when Lowell was still with us. LOVE me some Feat.

If this medley doesn't get your ass up and moving, you're dead.

This medley of two songs should be compulsory listening for all up and coming musicians. So much to be learnt from this performance

I couldn't agree more. Bill Payne is the MAN, man. The whole band was so awesome. Possibly the greatest live recording ever

I have the double live vinyl album, it’s glorious.

One of the best piano players I've ever heard!
Bill Payne does that Gershwin thing in the right spot.
An All-time favorite.
Reminds me slightly of a Brent era, jammin' Dead band !!!! Definitely premium rock and roll!
One of the live lps ever! Great upload!
If you don't dig this you got a hole in your soul!
Dixie Chicken, no small feat, Little Feat!
R.I.P. Paul.

There is always a s😮ilver lining dark cloud. My underrstanding is that Zappa fired Lowell George. It was our gain. RIP Lowell.
