Nice channel! Very informative. I havent been on a cruise in 10 years or more. The only reason for me that i would choose this P&O Azura boat is because theres quite literally no other way to spend a week on the Canary islands for the cost that they charge for this. The boat could just float about in the sea for a week aslong as its warm. Costings to stay in Tenerife now in Janruary for what i want are over £2k a week, without all inclusive, entertainment. Cruising definitely has its place, for me its just one of the best ways for someone who cant stay still in one place to have a 'lazy' holiday, as someone else is doing all the thinking of where we are going next. I guess all in all it is 'you get what you pay for' and at roughly £130/n pp for all meals, entertainment, a room and transport to another destination is an absolute bargain. If you broke it all down and attempted to do it separately, even staying in one destination costings would be a realistic 4 to 5 times as much.
I agree definitely has it’s place. I think I am, cruise every couple of years guy. Off to record a series in Fuerteventura soon off my own bat, but not as a package deal. Also have a series, filmed last year, in Azores which is a fab place. But not a ‘lazy’ holiday. Michael
hello michael, i go on a cruise in a month time and i dont wanna book shore experiences with the cruise line as they're expensive for me. What cheaper alternative would you suggest. And also, you mentioned not to pay for wifi so how else can i connect to the internet
Hi, 1: On wifi if you are cruising in EU areas you would be surprised how far out 4g goes. It’s not super fast but for social it does the job. 2: As for DIY what ports are you going to? Michael
So if you have time (full day on 2 week cruise) VAaletta very walkable and good to look around. There is a full video about that on my channel. What other ports are you going to.?
@@michaelhortin la spezia, Calvi, civitavecchia, and Naples. I’ll have to call my network provider to know how much it will cost me as I need data to assess maps on my phone when I’m out of the ship
Our ship did not use the first two ports,we went to Ajaccio on Corsica. As for the other two I did bite the bullet and buy the excursions for Rome and Pompeii. You can do both yourself, but I erred on being safe and paid. It isn’t cheap but at least you are safe ship won’t leave. Rome is a good two plus hours on the bus. I have though seen some use the train. An alternative to a normal sim might be a regional eSIM. I haven’t used them myself yet, but there are plenty of videos on here (TH-cam) about them and how they work. Hope that helps Michael
Hi Josh, I was in a cabin on the same deck as the casino and Irish bar. It was ok, maybe a bit limited. I’d say it was best for a solo traveller. You can see my cabin at the tail end of this video. th-cam.com/video/g9DKPV3ftYg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vQP7zD0Mfk8vff58 Hope this helps Michael
