"Communications between the camera and lens is faulty.
Clean the lens contacts"
But it does not help to clean the lens contacts or the camera contacts.
The Err 01 is a normal issue because the aperture flex cable is broken inside the lens, and the aperture assembly with the flex cable, or only the flex cable have to be changed to a new one.
But it could also be something else has broken inside the camera or the lens.

Hej Ken, I've been trying to get in touch with you with no luck. I understanding you don't have a repair business anymore, or affiliated with one either way, but I was wondering if you had a particular lens you could do one of your wonderful videos on.
I have a beautiful Canon New FD 100-300mm f5. 6 L, with near perfect optics. The issue is, it appears to have a infinity focus problem. I've tested on my New F-1, A-1 and adapted to and R series and in all circumstances it is the same problem.
I mostly used to servicing primes and haven't delved into the realm of zooms. Too many helicoids for me to dive into without some sort of reference point. All of that aside, it would be amazing to see some kind of break down video and a possible conclusion as to why this lens would have a focus issue. Thank you very much my friend, your videos have truly been a tremendous help. Tak igen ;)
I will make a video sooner about a my Canon FD zoom lens 100-200mm 1:5.6 because I have buy a nice examble on a fleamarket, I think it will be interesting :-)
