Hi, Pan. I am a 71 year old engineer and have fun detailing my BMW 535i. I've been a subscriber of your channel for over 4 years. It's a great source of information and advice. Continue the good work and let's have more people relaxing while detailing. Sure we have health and even some money benefits from it. One humble advice for the beginners: Don't expect to have the same results, as the experienced, in the first attempt. Persist and you will see the results.

Pan thank you! I’m on day 3 of a full detail and treatment on my car. It took me two years to overcome the fear of using a da and polishing and coating and sealing my vehicle. I’ve watched so many of your videos. As I went through this process I would make mistakes and kept thinking damn Pan wouldn’t be impressed😂 But then I’d think but Pan is so positive he’d say it’s ok you’re doing well for my first time detailing my car 😂 As I was going along I’d be happy😅 with something I’d done and think awesome that would be Pan approved Pan would be proud! Your voice and encouragement kept me going through each phase and each panel when I wanted to chicken out and stop in my tracks. And with what you taught me on washing and drying techniques my car wasn’t filled with swirls! I’m now excited for my car to get dirty so I can do it all again! Thank you!

Forgive me for being so verbose: I bought a 2023 S580 and the salesman told me about his own new car and so I had the car covered with PPF and then ceramic coated. Total cost $5K. I didn’t even know what I was doing, I then got on youtube and found your videos (Love them and have watched many hours)… so now I’m educating myself. I am just figuring out the steps …. Enjoying it, but I live in a condo so don’t have a garage or a place to wash the car. I’ve learned so much since watching you, so thanks! I’ve purchased so many various products and going crazy - It’s so much fun and I enjoy it with all my heart. Just wish I had my own dedicated garage with all my products to keep my car pristine.

I bought my first car in March 2024 and went through the exact same phase and asked the same questions you asked, "how do I wash my car?". My parents used a sponge and a bucket with dish soap too and alarm bells were ringing so I thought they had to be another way.
I bought a lot of products from dollar tree, Amazon and Canadian Tire since I was very conscious about money and didn't want to over commit.
I washed my car the first time using P&S Brake Buster for the wheels, the 2 bucket method with Adam's Car shampoo, then dried with dollar tree microfiber cloths, and then applied the Turtle Wax ice and shine. All those things completely changed the car and didn't cost much at all.
I cleaned and then protected the inside of the car - with APC and then protected using chemical guys leather conditioner and VRP. Which completely changed the car, the AC trick you mentioned made the car smell fresh for weeks!
This was the first time and I absolutely loved it. I've now upped my game by buying IK Foam 2 which helps reduce how much product I use. I'm m now considering adding the clay towel with iron remover step.
All these things I've absolutely loved learning about and I can proudly say that your my source of truth. I love the full comparison videos where you discuss quality, ease of use, and price! Keep up the great work!
Ps. If you have any suggestions on how I can further up my detailing

    Thanks Pan! Great positive video!
I think you were speaking to me here. I gave up on detailing because it became a chore for me even though I love my vehicles. Enjoyment is the key to keeping the hobby or passion alive. Those factors got cloudy when fear of doing damage to the surfaces of the car resonated more than enjoyment. Or I thought this is the best you can get…I was clearly wrong on that. Your video on how to wash your 911 (Best practices)reintroduced me to what I thought I already knew about the detailing process.
Turns out, I knew the old way...and I only knew what the function was of the old products and I love products! What I learded here is today's product engineering changes the way a detail a process can be designed.
Your wash and talk videos, along with those from Matt (OG), Rick (RAD), Josh (IMJOSHV), Yvan (DIY), Jon (Forensic D), and Keav (CwK), have helped me design new wash methods. The engaging and educational content, along with quality products and tools, have been instrumental in this transformation. Thanks!

I find wheels take the most out of me ( back, knees, wrists etc. ) and by the time I’ve done this , what should be the more enjoyable part becomes a chore. Hey Pan…58 yr old detailing enthusiast here. I DO remember the Turtle Wax hand applied wax paste. It lasted about a month and I was so proud of how it looked (76 Chevy Nova in Hugger Orange, 73 VW Super Bettle in bright yellow back in the 1980’s.) and Armor-All Vinyl protectant went on the entire interior and the tires, slinging was just expected. LOL. I’ve always maintained my own vehicles with an occasional trip to a tunnel wash. During COVID, I discovered your channel and learned about the damage done to vehicle paint by the tunnel washes. I’m 100% hand washing my vehicles now and have slowly but surely expanded my skills, tools and products thanks to YOU! I have always enjoyed cleaning vehicles, being organized and even hand washing dishes. So, I have found my spirit animal in you. :) Thanks for all the information, tips and recommendations.
One question though: At what point in the detailing process is the best time to wash the door jams?

    • @benkneisley3001
      @benkneisley3001 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Door jambs for me are done at the end of the exterior was. I have 5 wash mitts. Four for the exterior, then I use the fifth to wipe down the door jambs…..then rinse the entire car with PW……remove the pressure washer tip and rinse the door jambs.
That how I do it. Please share other processes if you have them.

    Thanks for everything, Pan.
I have moved to the Netherlands a bit over 2 years ago, and bought my car in October of last year (a '99 Audi TT 225 coupe). It's street parked, so I bought it knowing it will never be "perfect", since storage is non-existent, but I have learned so much from you and your videos in the past few months, and wanted to drop a comment to thank you.
I have slowly built up my knowledge thanks to you, and have been buying stuff for rinseless washing the car. I have been maintaining it every week or two, and it feels relaxing to do so. I now recently bought some clay mitt/sponge so a bit of decontaminating is next in my process (for now I've only been washing it), as well as applying some Bead Maker paint sealant afterwards. I hope this helps further in the ease of maintenance with dirt, water and all kinds of stuff hanging less onto the body.
In the future I'll probably invest in a machine polisher to go to the next step in paint correction, but for now I'm already happy and enjoying the whole learning journey.
Once again, thanks a lot for all the effort you put in the YT channel and I hope you're doing well. Keep up the positivity and good work!

My stress comes from my detailing conditions. I don't have a shady spot so the sun beats down on where I have to detail my car so the stress of chemicals drying of flashing to quickly stresses me out. It still takes me too long to do a full detail to get it done in the evening hours too. But the act of detailing is a zone like feeling and it's great. I started out trying to do everything I learned in my first few washes and applying all these great techniques, but since then I toned it back. Now my focus is just becoming more efficient with the tools, techniques and products I have and expand as I get more experience. Good stuff, thanks Pan.

Thanks Pan, I have always enjoyed detailing my vehicles over the years and see it as a form of therapy, my garage is also like a sanctuary for me, after coming across your videos and other TH-camrs I have learned a lot and have gotten more efficient and skilled at the art. I used to borrow a pressure washer from family but finally got my own, just a couple more pieces and I can do a full car detail. I love this hobby even more now, In large part thanks to you… cheers

I recently found your channel after purchasing a new car.. i want to learn how to properly detail/wash a car so it doesn’t get ruined. My old car’s paint was ruined by industrial fallout, salt(from winter) and other contamination. Many car washes where i live do real crap jobs. Using a towel to dry your car, clean your interior then clean your windows all with the dame towel! I’ve learned A LOT watching your channel. Thank you

I just bought a new car about 5 months ago and been watching videos on detailing. And you seem to be the best on TH-cam with a couple of others. I bought detail polisher's pads and a ceramic coat sealer Yes, I went down that rabbit hole.
I'm waiting for the right time and the weather
for me to go out there and do a good wash. A decon a clay and Polish and then the ceramic coat. I feel confident that I can do it after watching your videos and many others on TH-cam.Thank you for all you do.

That's what makes you one of my best youtubers my beloved Greek- Canadian Pan(telis) ! A good influencer sould make you want to get out and enjoy what you do. Surpass your fears and make the next step. That's what you made me do! I was always afraid to use a polisher. After this video I took my old random orbital (it was pretty much brand new even after so many years ) used all my knowledge from your tutorials and good products and did that step! Yes my hands hurt a little bit more from the old machine but my family and neighbors couldn't believe the result!!! I feel proud and happy for detailing again. I love my old daily like the first day I bought it. Thank you so much once again! Keep it up Pan!!!!

My first detailing was in the early 80s scrubbing tires and cleaning chrome bumpers. Then in the late 80s my first car trying to wax with the colored waxes they had at that time. 😂 then early 90s with my first new truck which was black. Then kids happened and i stopped everything for 25 years. Now im back into it because of a new car purchase and your videos, and you've inspired me to start a new niche channel for people who have to clean outdoors, or without hoses and electric availability. I only hope one day to inspire someone the way youve inspired me.

Greatest car detailing channel. I really like the message of this video because detailing a car can be very therapeutic. My son took his life during November 2013, aged 20, and our hearts were broken. Detailing my cars has really helped me mentally and it was your BMW ceramic coating video several years ago, set me on a better mental health journey, and for that I thank you, and my fellow subscribers, as I love reading the comments, to enable me to learn further.

I started detailing last year around the age of 64 and I have Pan to blame for my addiction . I found this channel by accident when I I watched a video on using Turtle Wax products. From there I spent far too much money buying lots of products by different manufacturers. I have not narrowed my detailing to using the products of 3 companies. I find it so relaxing and I have to admit that my car looks very good for it. So thanks Pan to introducing me to the world of detailing.

Another great one Pan !! This one brought back memories for sure. I have been detailing for 35 years and like you said we just basically had Meguiars, Mothers, Turtle Wax back in the day and cannot forget Armor All for the dash.😂 Also, we didn't have any fancy microfiber towels like we do today, I used to use "The Absorber" to dry my car.... the bare bones but our cars always looked great ! This video was very well done and you do not need the fancy stuff, though nice to have but you can get the basics and still get great results. We are spoiled with all these fancy chemicals, machines, rags.... so it is very exciting to be a detailer during these times. Speaking of time, thanks for your time and look forward to the next one.

I just detailed my vehicle for the first time in probably 10 years, I was always going to my detailer but the prices went up pretty crazy so I decided it's not worth it to do that.
I bought a legit deionizer and unfortunately still do not have a pressure washer, but about to get one.
I bought an IK pro 2+ to foam the vehicle with some DIY steps to make the unit simple to use. I've currently spent about 450 dollars and I am basically ready to go.
Because of the info you provided and steps to take plus which products to use, I did a remarkable job and switching to the one bucket wash method made the process extremely quick. My vehicle did not get marring or swirls, and the products did what was stated.
Simply just get the ball rolling, and I am already in the mode where I cant wait to wash my car again.

Cleaning the vehicles with all the different types of product on the market now can be very taunting as far as knowledge of the many application processes, or having the proper space, and clean water with the right water pressure. I really appreciate you sharing your product reviews and advice. So I am going to grab my pen and notebook and go back and watch a lot of your videos.
