@ML6103 Hahahahaha not sure where you are from but that stereotype can be pretty dangerous. There is a pub out in the northern suburbs in Sydney they called Patrick's, to be specific its in pennant hills, there are alot of Christian lebanese in that area the anglo aussies and the lebanese aussies there have blended in very well for over a century. But anyway going back to the late 80s a fight broke out, there would have been about 30 lebanese and comfortably about 40 to 50 anglo aussies who were likely from out of the area because as I said earlier everyone generally blended really well. a fight broke out and the anglos were literally used as mops to clean the floor with. They made the mistake of calling us ***** Muslims which back then the Christians and the Muslims from that area were further devided. Trust me there are lebs that are more than happy to fight even if they are outnumbered, I understand this is the internet and you are having a laugh as alot of you do. but in reality don't make the mistake of saying it to the wrong one because they will clean your lights out, and your mates too. I've seen it happen multiple times.

Same with anyone really. 99% of us are immigrants here...most of us have taken advantage of the opportunity. Many people haven't.
Leave the hatred behind. I'm talking about everyone by the way. Croats and Serbs, Greeks and Macedonians, English and Irish.
Sorry but why do so many Lebabnese come up as organised crime/ bikie members in Western Sydney?
I'm from WA and worked with plenty of Palestinians in construction. Good peoples for the most part. Why is it so different over there? I really want to know. @@deekay166

Tim Berg i think the media have a lot to answer for. Its shapes the minds and attitudes of people. Lets say you read see or hear a story of a white crime, there will be 10 additional positive stories to counter that 1 bad story. Whenever i see crime reported on a person of colour thats all you will see. Just crime. Not delving into the normal lives of bame ppl to produce positive stories. Just one negative story after another. I think your beliefs are misguided. The vast majority just want to get on with their lives.

Michael Kanaan, one of the main culprits
A psychologist's report in '01 indicated that Kanaan experienced a normal, stable upbringing, that he and his family had a deep devotion to the "Christian faith" and that he abstained from the consumption of alcohol. He attended CBHS Lewisham in Sydney and achieved a good result in his HSC.He entered a degree course at uni with a view to entering the AFP force but following a conviction for an assault charge he instead entered the computer industry. -Wiki

Documentaries like these only serve to create a further divide in Australian Society. These are not gangs from Lebanon, the majority were born in Australia, educated and raised in Australia. They are products of the society they live in. When the general population decides to isolate them, stereo type them and treat them as criminals from the go get, then expect them to find comfort and solidarity with others that are made to feel isolated for the same reasons and rebel against the society that rejects them. They see themselves as the bloods and cribs of Sydney because they are treated in the same way. Treat them as Australian criminals and not as Middle Eastern interlopers and maybe you break the cycle of violence that we the society perpetuate generation after generation. This is the brown eyes/blue eyes experiment playing out in a large city.

gpet 72 They were born here. This is their country as much as you claim its yours. Most of them have never even seen another country. Australia locks up criminals, it does not deport its citizens. Malcom Fraser took guns off the streets after a Blond haired Blue eyed surfie embarked on a shooting spree in Hobart. It was just after two mass shootings in Melbourne, one mass shooting in Strathfield in Sydney and a bikie massacre in Millpera in Sydney. I don't remember anybody calling for the Western Europeans to go back home and I don't ever remember racism being an Australian value.

I have a degree in Sociology and History. I believe the Australian Lebanese can't identify with traditional Lebanese culture, or Australian culture, so they immitate what they see on television, which is black American culture. Unfortunately, that means a lot of gangs and violence in response to racial torments from white Australians. Black American culture also does not go hand in hand with Islamic culture, so all round they are just a mixed up bunch.

Citing random studies to support still highly contentious and hotly debated issues as a matter of fact, is not only ignorant but betrays your own need to feel validated racially as superior. Furthermore to suggest race was the integral variable for violence in this case is ludicrous.

1- lebanese australians are mostly christians
2- violence and crime has nothing to do with religion (in my opinion)
3- however, there was an attempt from to calculate the correlation between religions and crime rates in countries, what came out of the study (published by the economist), is that crime rates are even higher in christian countries

Not in the same context as what is occurring in the US. There are all types of gangs in Australia but they form the minority. There is no issues with "Blacks". In fact many don't even see people by colour at all. We have African migrants as well as people from all ethnic groups here. Each group has integrated into the society to some degree. While Australia has a very racist history, the vast majority of people today are descent no matter what their cultural/ethnic background.

Thats cause they classified Native Americans as "asians." In that sense we're all "africans". Also Scarr note in 1998 that due to the liberal environment that they asserted that IQ was entirely environmental, when black kids reared in white homes and black kids reared in black homes had no difference in test scores. He said it was a mistake to call it entirely environmental. And prenatal conditions don't account for rich black kids scoring lower than the poorest whites.

@UndefeatedAutomotive Mate, I'm an Aussie living in Canada for the last year and a bit. If it is any consolation, it's the same here. My Canadian GF's brother can't get on either cause he's not coloured and he's a male. He's even been told this off the record by other cops.

@ConnexM3tro one more thing you should take note of, is its our time to cop a flacking. Didnt you notice that all of a sudden people only started hating lebs after sep 11 ? after the rape case that got blown out of proportion in the media ? Ivan Milatt was Croatian , why dont Aussies hate Croats ? what about the Italian Mafias in melb ? why dont Aussies hate them ? First it was blacks, then it was Asians, then Russians and Now its Lebs, tomorrow it will be Indians the day after Chinese.

    • @450tank

Croatians, Italians, Asians, Russians don't go around in gangs in Australia bashing people and threatening to rape women. Lebs do.

That doesn't make sense. What relevance does having gangs and the selling of drugs and alcohol have? For one thing drugs are not legal for sale on the streets or anywhere for that matter. A large portion of gangs in Australia do not come from severe poverty like in Brazil, Sth America or the US. Gangs in those countries is a way of life, where else gangs in Australia is some kind of trend or fad. A lot of gang members in Australia are not real and would not last very long in places like USA.

ok guys here is the problem!! i dont understand why do you people become so judgemental and stereotypic perception about certain race or community...the fact is actually people from middle east who migrate to western countries are generally countrymen, poor, no exposure ! they migrate for a better living ofcourse no well established family or individual wud ever leave his or her country..so when these lower class people move abroad they give the rest a very bad name!!

  • @thehushman
    @thehushman 13 ปีที่แล้ว

@ThePintsizeslasher But that's not to say the concept of race is a legitimate one, in that genetically we share more traits that are not equally considered (in comparison to the classical notions of racial differences; skin color etc.) in that classification scheme.
