    I note that Lebanese Americans immigrated mainly between 1890-1930, so maybe that wave of immigrants had better social culture? Also, 90% of lebanese in the US are Maronite Catholics or Greek Orthodox, not Muslim. I'm not sure if that makes a major difference, but it is something.

      warnings X the syrians in lebanon work harder than the Lebanese them selves and get paid way less. And syrians came to help lebanese in their civil war in 70s and stayed until 2000s, everyone was telling them to leave because alot of people was blaming them for rafik hariris assassination but we all know who was behind it (mossad) israelis. I agree with alot of what u said except for the syrian part. They dont deserve to be left out like this specially after everything going on in their country. If u live in lebanon then u should know how many homeless syrians kids are in the streets suffering and begging for money. So stop acting like they are at fault

    I know some Lebanese youth who are truly wonderful people, work hard, pay their taxes, look after their families, are honest, respectful and wouldn't harm a fly.
    However, I'm sad to admit that most Lebanese youth I have met do not even represent Lebanon, they are vicious, aggressive, criminals, hurt people and disrespect everyone in sight. They have adopted the American gangster lifestyle and misrepresent Lebanon and have no idea about Lebanese culture or heritage. Very sad, God bless.

    Good point and fair. Too bad that life is almost never fair... you have to fight for all you get, including the respect of being seen, for good or ill, as an individual instead of one of a group. The best way to attain that status is not to identify with (hide behind) a group, but stand up for yourself. If people want to be seen as individuals, they have to accept that lonely state. And most people are just too soft to take it.

  • @Hotshotter3000

  • @Botie2
    @Botie2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Documentaries like these only serve to create a further divide in Australian Society. These are not gangs from Lebanon, the majority were born in Australia, educated and raised in Australia. They are products of the society they live in. When the general population decides to isolate them, stereo type them and treat them as criminals from the go get, then expect them to find comfort and solidarity with others that are made to feel isolated for the same reasons and rebel against the society that rejects them. They see themselves as the bloods and cribs of Sydney because they are treated in the same way. Treat them as Australian criminals and not as Middle Eastern interlopers and maybe you break the cycle of violence that we the society perpetuate generation after generation. This is the brown eyes/blue eyes experiment playing out in a large city.

    • @Botie2

      Maybe it was set up for John Symonds from Aussie, or Marie Basheer former NSW Governer or maybe David Malouf the writer or Alex Chidiac the soccer player or Hazam El Massri the footy player or Joe Hachem who was the Aussie world poker champion or Joe Hasham the Actor or Doris Younan from McLeods daughters, or Sir Nicholas Shehadie former Lord Mayor of Sydney or the thousands of other Lebanese born people that identify as Australians and have made huge contributions to Australian Society. Nothing racist in your thinking...@@nippasss

    • @nippasss

      Here is a thought. It was set up because they are a bunch of try hard gangster wanna be’s. Bringing their bullshit violence from the homelands. Why come to Australia to get away from the same bullshit they bring. Shows their mentality ain’t too bright.

    • @Botie2
      @Botie2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @MegaWinnieGirl It doesn't have to be my country to not want them to mess it up. As far as I'm concerned Australia is my country and it will be for as long as i live. Also that's a little ignorant of you to say that. # of the biggest western countries are immigrants who have lived on their lands for generations. Are you denying them the right to call their land theirs?

    How are these 'Lebanese Gangs' when they are 2nd & 3rd generation kids of immigrant Lebanese who look Australian, Drink like Australians and follow Australian culture? If this was the case, would it be fair to refer to all Australians as 'Scottish' or 'British' because a few dozen generations ago you guys Immigrated here as well. These are Australian gangs, not Lebanese.
