The main reason HS2 don't want filming is because the Colne Valley Viaduct is being built in the inner source protection zones of water sources for public tap water. It is illegal to pollute the water here. The film shows several areas of pollution. You were filming near the Northmoor Public Water Source at the start of the film. HS2 has paid for additional purification works here to clean up their mess. The second film was from Moorhall Road where just next to the site you were filming from is the Blackford Public Water Source which has been closed due to HS2 since spring 2021. The underlying story is the negative impacts on the public water supply.

I flew this site as a professional operator right down to the bottom end (South Embankment) regularly for a good 2.5 years as part of a surveying task as a contractor outside of HS2 manning. It was interesting work to see the site develop from what was open fields to what we see now. I ceased to continue when the viaduct was pretty much in its infancy and not quite encroaching on the main road where you started off. Wow - they have done some development since! Great video, Mike at Denham ATC is a top chap and always welcoming / helpful with clearances. Although it was an M210 RTK I used to operate, it was all about mapping the site for various digital functions. Great video, keep up the good work :o)

      2. Always keep your drone or model aircraft in direct sight and make sure you have a full view of the surrounding airspace
You must be sure that you'll be able to spot any hazards, in the air or on the ground, and avoid any collisions.
You must be able to see your drone or model aircraft clearly enough that you can tell which way it’s facing. This is so that you can steer and control it safely, even if something happens unexpectedly.

The reason they have to down-tools during a drone flight is because the professional fliers fly only heavy drones where it is illegal to fly over people, or at least recommend that you don't. They don't fly superlight drones which CAN fly over people, so they didn't bother to write them into their drone procedures. That's entirely on them.

21:50 Following you off site could mean they are committing the crime of harassment under section 1 of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. They are also not insured whilst off site and acting as security. They are acting outside of their role. They have no jurisdiction on the highway. And they have no defence as they cannot use the claim that they believed you were committing an indictable crime since it's obvious that they are following because they think that flying a drone over the site is "not allowed". Something that is company policy, not law.

Now I’ve seen more, and as I’m a drone pilot myself! I worry that if people keep flying outside the drone code, it will spoil it for us all! There was just no need to go out of VLOS, would have been a great video anyway!

30:45 Everything he's recorded on his BWV will be used against him as he did everything wrong. He acted outside his remit and he also acted unlawfully. His BWV does not contain any evidence that could be used against DJE as he did everything lawfully. Maybe not according to HS2 policy, but he doesn't have to follow their policies.

5:20 Doesn't matter if it's a work phone or a personal phone, taking a picture for work purposes is a breach of GDPR/DPA. The guy messed up big style. He took it surreptitiously and didn't get informed consent. The CCTV video is fine. The picture he took is not. Pedantic but that's the law.

46:11 DJE banging on again asking why someone is taking his photo... while taking photos and video himself. As a regular viewer and "liker".... this crap is wearing a bit thin. Photography is not a crime... so just zip it, and get on with what you are doing instead of complaining.

@@DJEMEDIA I bet this will be regulated under GDPR .. if they somehow got your details, they need to tell you how they obtained the details.. even the police imho cannot tell them, unless you committed a crime... what I think is they did call the police gave them your picture and licenceplate number and the police illegally forwarded your details to them.
