I visit Clifton Suspension bridge to see if their controversial drone rule has been changed. Unaware that later that very night the tragic discovery of human remains in suitcases would be found on the bridge. I return the next day to have a look and we capture the Police update live.

Definitely 1 of the better drone flights so picturesque
You can't film here, five hours later, we're appealing for any video footage you may have 😮
It's a joke right? 😅
@@AlyssiaStation No joke.
If you think they mean drone footage from after the time the suitcases have been discovered you’re extremely thick….
Exactly
@@IamBerbatovu ovs didnt comment after watching and u call someone else thick
Goes to show how important it is we use cameras and drones. You could potentially have filmed evidence useful to this investigation 🕵️ 👍
I couldn’t see him on the footage but police may have other people they are looking for who knows.
And to think that Isambard Kingdom Brunel went over that gorge in a bucket suspended from a rope! To make matters worse the pulley snagged part way across and he hat to climb out to free the rope/pulley.
IKB was the guy who designed and built the bridge for those who didn’t know. Real hero of mine
And ships etc
the 5 foot giant of engineering. now where did i put my stove pipe hat.
Nice drone footage mate, great work.
Love the way you crashed the police press conference! Takes some balls with a 1988 camcorder in your hand! 😂😂😂
Stunning views , absolutely awesome ,beautiful music too , Well done DJE.
Stunning footage I live in bristol never seen this angle ,thankyou
Excellent DJE ! that is a much better stance from you ! You are telling them what you intend to do, instead of asking what the consequences would be ? This keep's you in control.
The Clifton area of Bristol really is beautiful. I first went there 45 years ago when I was in the RAF at RAF Locking and fell in love with the place. Worked down there in the mid 90s staying in a caravan only 100m from another of Brunel’s masterpieces the SS Great Britain and working around the corner from his Temple Meads station.
I got there 5 years before you, it really is a wonderful building. A few years later I lived near the Box Tunnel, Isambard Kingdom Brunel is definitely a major part of history.
Great footage .
BTW here is the info. on heights over undulating ground :-
"Your drone or model aircraft must never be more than 120m (400ft) from the closest point of the earth’s surface.
If you fly where the ground falls or rises, such as over hills, mountains or cliffs, you may need to adjust your flight path so that your drone or model aircraft is never more than 120m (400ft) from the closest point of the earth’s surface."
came here to comment that
also you can't fly directly over/in the vicinity of an emergency response (to such that it may interfere/distract)
wow, saw a news report about this. the guy travel from london to bristol in a cab. the investigation still active. just cant believe someone can do that to another human being
If that's the case they would have a time span of what time he got on the train at Paddington. If it was Paddington could be could be Redding and to be perfect honest they know exactly what time he left Bristol Temple meads a very old. It come all the way from London to dump some bodies. Very very odd
That's some nice footage as well. Actually your drone skills have improved massively
Why didn't you get a close up shot of the suspect you had the opportunity to help find the suspect through your viewers?
I guess that the facts will come out , it might be that the guy is a bad guy and the two dismembered bodies are bad guys too .
@@paulabevanIf that's the Case 👀😁
It seems there are NO restrictions..as usual'someone' is making up rules--Excellent footage..
Always lies to get their own way.
The bridge was built in 1864. Reportedly between 1974 and 1993, 127 people fell to their deaths from the bridge. In 1998 barriers were installed on the bridge to prevent people jumping. In the four years after installation this reduced the suicide rate from eight deaths per year to four.
Forget the news today, gotta say your footage of the bridge/area looked very good excellent work 👍
This is a classic case of people making up their own no fly or no photography rules while believing they are enforceable when they're not.
probably 1 of the best drone flights iv seen, the music fits in so well 10/10 m8 love it
Very cool footage! England is beautiful..shame certain parts are in the toilet currently!
All of it is, due to letting anyone in
The music really plays a part in bringing that epic drone footage to life! 👍
The 120 m height limit applies to the land directly beneath the drone, not the take off point.
Not trying to have a dig, just maybe prevent any issues in the future for you 👍
Best drone footage you've ever got!
In the early 70's, when doing an apprenticeship in Chippenham, a group of us would go to the bridge and get it rocking from side to side. 50 years later, I doubt that we could do it. Theres a bridge in Newcastle (not over the Tyne) where you can do the same thing. 🤣 😂 🤣
Amazing drone footage DJ
At 36:35 there is a guy on the bottom right of the screen about to cross the road on the bottom. He scurries to the other side of the road, walks down a few feet then abruptly turns a 180 and starts walking the other direction seemingly for no reason. He also looks much like the picture displayed at 1:18:10 from what little I can see of him...
I watched this man on the first time watching and thought it odd enough to remember a timestamp. Once I saw the picture I went back. It looks strikingly similar... Someone please tell me I'm crazy.
Bloody hell. Well spotted!
Just seen this , superb footage
I'm from bristol and still live here, I love the place but also I'm ashamed of what they did during the crazy times with the statue.
class footage on the drone with the dramatic music ..
Totally loved this flight. One of the best you have done to date.
Fantastic drone footage!
With regards to taking off away from thr bridge and then walking over while in control…. as far as I understand it, then this would be legal. Probably not the best way to go about it but I don’t think they could stop you doing that. Same with Nation Trust land etc. As long as you take off & land off their property then I’m pretty sure you can walk on with the controller in your hand,
As for the 120M max altitude,.. this not based on where you take off from . If you take off and climb up to 120M, but then fly over a ravine 80M below, then you must lower the drone’s altitude. For that reason, the maximum height you can fly over the Clifton bridge is 40M (because of the 80M drop below)
It was a very interesting video, especially the drone flights. Sad about the human remains/suitcases though.
Cheers
Steve
That was a bloody good video, thanks for sharing dude.
What is it with DJE with rivers and bodies? - normally he comes late to the party but on this one he shows up hours before it happened.
Imagine him just scanning about with the drone and being like 'oh look there's a guy throwing a suitcase in the water' 😂
It's not a funny situation. Shame on you. Someone/some people suffered here & they can't even grow old along with everyone else.
Have some heart.
I liked the 1st bloke. He was fair an even told you the best place to get shots from x (havnt finished watching yet)
public accessible place for cars and pedestrians cameras on them no problem did you know when it was first built a woman tried to commit suicide and jumped off the bridge and her dress of the times acted like a parachute and she landed in the mud and survived crazy or what sarah ann henley
The tunnel is to protect the people driving the cars in case someone jumps off in that area. Great filming buddy!!!!!
Why did that police officer say "my wife..." I've never heard a police officer bring their wife into their line of work that way. Some agenda there?
Spotted that my self 💯
You could tell from her appearance she came from the planet Lesbos.
Wow it took 33 years to build and was opened in 1864.
Fantastic aerial filming .
3rd security guard asking what is the big deal about filming the bridge ?
This could be a channel in its own right flying a drone over the bridge .
Strange events seem to follow you around .
You not been to Tenerife/Canary islands lately have you ?
No I went at Xmas
@@DJEMEDIA I'm going at Christmas to buy a dog
How mad is that you were there just before this horrific incident. 😮
Strange events seem to follow this guy about like mulder & Skulley
The bridge guards will have a valid claim to put against the company for not updating them in respect of the law and making them look like fools.
@@TheSadButMadLad I'm curious... A claim for what, exactly?
Security got all upset when I climbed Giants Cave Buttress about 30 years ago, bit late to get all teasy about it when I was on the final pitch. Disinformation and misinformation seems a little too heavy at the Bridge, so resistant to education, always go to the catastrophic lengths examples when they don’t actually know the law or how drones fly!
Beautifull footage DJE and well flown. Keep the videos coming.
Most of these camcorders have a 1/5th inch sensor. I'm impressed that the footage is that good.
Cracking footage. Beautiful place to be.
NICE VENUE FOR A WEDDING THAT "WINDMILL" as the Bridge Guard called it. Fantastic views DJE. Amazing how they built/Bridhed that gap at that height in 1831/1834,did they have metal scaffolding back then or did they use wooden, the weight of the pieces to fit the jigsaw puzzle + lifting them is mind boggling.
Great vid DJE one of your best to date.
First segment drone is National Geographic quality, DJ. The music you chose really fits the scene. Somber second day with the news. I'm sure you were on the beat to help with any investigation on your own accord. Excellent video!
Fantastic & beautiful footage of the views and technique DJE. Was your music soundtrack royalty free or is it yours? So lovely !
Its not a safety issue.... Its a money issue, they want to control who makes money off it ie THEM
Brilliant video loved the music with it 👍
From my reading of our drone regs, the height is 120m,400 feet above ground level vertically, not take off point so in this scenario we shouldn't be flying more than 150 feet over the bridge footway, I think you got it about right
Just beautiful drone work well done young man I enjoyed this, great video too 👏
Excellent mate, well done!
She admitted it was a male in the suitcase unwittingly.
Yeah, I noticed that too.... and indeed, there are two male victims.
Awesome video mate!
The 120M does not go from take-off point (the software just can't correct for it), it's from the nearest ground point, however the bridge would class as ground level so it's 120m from the bridge.
Spectacular.....great music and superb filmimg. Well done.
Everyone mistakes you for DJ but no one ever mistakes DJ for you
Because he changed his name to be like DJ… not the other way around. So it makes perfect sense
Anyone knows what DJE was talking about under the music ?
Enjoyed that video. Thank you
What is it with people these days. Can’t even have a civil conversation. Everyone’s on the defensive. Nobody wants to polite to each other
Yep, humour and politeness has been banned
Yep, humour and politeness has been cancelled, along with common sense and responsibility
That's the best drone footage I've ever seen 👌
Never get the chance to appreciate the view when driving over.
Clifton observatory houses the steps to giants cave, stairs inside leads down to the observation point (yellow fencing) in the cliffs. Great video mate, would have been cool to have met you had i known you were in the area 👍
Would love to take my drone there. Stunning shots man!
I flew my drone there 249g no problems
It's high up... well that's not surprising, being as the Clifton Suspension Bridge traverses the Avon Gorge...! If Ironbridge traversed the Severn Gorge in its totality, it would be much higher up and would have used an insane amount of iron. So much in fact that the bridge would have failed to traverse the gorge owing to the weight and a number of other engineering factors...!!! Luckily for Ironbridge, it only spans the actual riverflow and not the entire gorge...!!! 😉👍
I walked over there in the early 70s. Wicked memories . Thanku for the flash back m8.
BEAUTIFUL DROME GOOD DAY NICE TO MEET ANOTHER LEGEND ALL THE BEST FROM THE CRAFTY MOLE
Good to see you mate
Awesome video mate . Piękne zdjęcia
Hello folks This video is very good This is This is amazing view Very good scenery 🎈🎈🖼
Amazing video ❤ the best I’ve seen
Even though the 50meter rule was BS. I think if you flew closer we would have missed the Majesty of that land mark. Well done and beautiful imagery. :)
Your best one so far love that view beautiful 💙
They arrested the suitcase man. So it's been a open and shut case.
Well done really enjoyed it, music was bang on.
47.37 mental health isn't a laughing matter
Depends on where you're sitting.
From my deck chair, here in the lush back garden of my rather splendid Gothic~styled mansion set in approximately 27⅓ acres of plush, finely manicured greenery on the outskirts of Torquay, it is not in the least bit amusing and I shall be contacting my MP before sunset.
Exactly, that man was very insensitive and disrespectful to anyone who takes their own life, not funny at all.
Love the audits but just want to offer a tip for filming.. The music on the drone footage was great but for a better cinematic effect, move SLOWLY, not jerky. Stunning footage overall though, a place that nice is always appreciated.
Well done DJ fabulous drone footage love it!
Absolutely beautiful
Great Footage with the drone you are from Kidderminster I was born in Kidderminster great video
great video and drone footage.
As soon as I heard National Trust I new there would be silly rules, and the high fence was not there when I walked across great views
@Dj get yourself a telescopic mono pod for your zoom camera will take away alot of of the camera shake
The tower block you zoomed into at 28 minutes were the ones used for exterior shots of Nelson Mandela House home of Delboy and Rodney Totter in Only Fools and Horses, no bodies in Dels suitcase only hooky gear
Stunning, a location I want to visit one day

I'm trying to figure out how a bridge can be private property, when it has a public road and footpath....
Think of all the toll bridges around the UK, the majority if not all of those; will be privately owned and the tolls pay for the upkeep of the bridges and the booth staff wages...! 😉👍
@@tangomoggynoengi8518 You still need vehicle registration, driver's license, etc, to drive over the bridge, right? (I'm not from the UK so can't be sure). Open to the public so can't be considered private property for things like flying drones, filming, etc?
Certain sections of the bridge , not least the western approach , are still owned internally by the estate of the Kingdom Brunels.
its like the mersey tunnel in merseyside England which is owned by mersey travel and requires a toll (which pays for staff/repairs) to cross.
There are a few toll bridges in Wales, the Porthmadog Cob was owned by a trust which charged motorists just 5p to cross the bridge, they donated to local charities annually.
I think the Welsh assembly bought it and it's now free to cross?
It's on the main artery road which runs up and down the coast in that region, the A487.
I remember the toll causing a lot of congestion for motorists on holiday and extra hassle for local people, as they faffed about trying to find a 5p if they weren't expecting a toll charge, quite funny watching them empty their pockets or scratching their heads in confusion.😳
So i take you've all seen the guy hiding then? Took me a while but
This was well before the guy came with the suitcases... Who r u on about lol
I'm getting a cab there tomorrow
Lovely footage and again great educating to those who think they know better 😅...sad circumstances and RIP to the victims 😪

@Gazza1990 yet here you are on his channel....and I bet you also don't want Guitar lessons 😉
Hi what's the music at 35 minutes in please
Excellent mate
That’s a brilliant video 👍
Wow fab drone shots. 👌
Here in NZ the 120m rule is from drone to floor, so if you set off 1m high and fly off a 100m cliff… you’re now at 101m (but my mini3 still shows the original height 😅).
Presume it’s the same in the UK?
Correct
You know I love you and your videos..... but around the 48 min mark, the conversation was pretty insensitive to be shown on this video. I know 5 people, mainly men who have committed suicide. It's not a laughing matter 😢 It's heartbreaking for everyone involved, the person, friends, family, community, emergency responders.....
But on a positive, amazing drone footage, and probably your best video yet ❤
Fantastic drone footage
Sadly a lot of people jump off hence the phone number, and the cover over the road. It's also where the first bungee jump was carried out from!
