Well in this case it was actually bouncing over the ramp entirely, but weight also has no effect on height from ramps since that is actually tied to the hitbox
What if karts could wheelie? 🤔
I guess people would choose karts more often because they would be faster than the bikes.
Not only that but they have the 2x drift boost, so #OP (not to mention if they could inside drift it would be awesome)

If you mean get those little speed boosts, then the karts would get the respect they deserve, but good karts like the Wild Wing were stuck in the shadow of shit like the Mach Bike.

Mr bean should make an option where you can choose inside drift or outside drift after you have chosen your vehicle

@@zwch_ Nah take it one step further for balance. Make every bike/vehicle have inside/outside drift and map the two types of drifts respectively to the shoulder buttons R or L. Every other vehicle without top speed like spear/mach/flame runner should get A serious stat increase to their mini turbo stat and offroad.
That would be sweet!
Additionally, outside drifting should allow you to do orange mini turbos.

Shooting star actually has less drift 0.015>0.0141. It has better drift acceleration which is what you are misled by.

@@campbellblock3061 If it has better drift acceleration than the Flame Runner and comparable drift speed and handling then it has better drift overall (since the gain is hardly noticeable from the extra 0.0009) which is presumably why it has an overall stat of 59 compared to the Flame Runner's 51.
@@markymark443 Although shooting star is slower than flame runner, it still has a wider drift radius due to the lower drift stat. Daisy on the dolphin dasher actually has better drift than inside drift funky shooting star. Drift acceleration and handling have nothing to do with actual drift, and the 59/51 stats come from an inaccurate chart that has been outdated for about a decade.
That must feel really weird. After 10 years of playing, it just doesnt feel right to see those bikes drift that way.

The shooting star looks normal to me but the others dont, pretty funny to see them drift that way now

Colin GZ Network nah, bikes are PERFECT for inside drift due to the fact that wheelies are faster than drifts, but I can see why karts were given outside as they have the orange mini turbo.

This is the second most fun Troy’s ever had, right behind siting cross-legged on the Sear’s tower in 2012 and almost cracking the glass and freaking out.
The shooting star used to be my favorite vehicle (because I like how it looks) until I learned more about the vehicles in the game and discovered that it has outside drift
I remember always using Rosalina with the shooting star in Nintendo wfc when I was a kid

Wait, weight makes you get less weight off ramps? I actually assumed that's what it did when I was 8 but since then I assumed that was wrong!

yea, what he said. less air, not less weight.
IRL, everything falls with the same acceleration. Having more mass actually increases the distance you fly in the air (but not the time). Additionally, since the force of drag doesn’t depend on an object’s weight, a more massive vehicle would experience less drag acceleration when flying through the air, increasing the distance and time in the air. In summary, Mario kart has it backwards. Heavy vehicles should get more air and light vehicles should get less, if they are going the same speed.

Considering that karts are bad because of their drift this really balances out, now the only difference between karts and bikes is wheelies and the extra mini turbo

in the first gp i was using mario - standard kart because i was in the shower and came back to the game and it was after the character select screen
that was rather irritating
I love the idea of everything having inside drift, with bikes having wheelies and cars having orange miniturbos, would give a very interesting dynamic and a lot more variety in character-vehicle choice.
This was a fun lobby. I was playing against you as Baby Luigi at one point lol. I joined twice too and got kicked because of my connection. Great games though. Had a blast.

I remember playing Mario Kart Wii as a kid and wondering how people were managing to drift so smoothly when I struggled with it so much. Inside drift is so game-breaking.
Looking at this video in 2022, I really liked seeing how some vehicles performed if they have inside drift (including Karts).

They skipped out so hard on trick animations because Nintendo have become very lazy.
Example A: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Instead of a new Mario Kart 9, we get Deluxe with extra DLC. So 60 dollars for the same game with a few extra characters. Talk about a cash grab.

I wish there was a way to get more people on board with this? Every bike, or even every vehicle being able to have inside drift would open up so many more combinations that you'd otherwise never use. It'd give you a lot of variety.
That Mini Beat inside drift is definitely messing with my head. Every drift I think it goes outside, but it just does not :D It just looks so weird
I liked how you were playing the sand levels while the pillar men theme was playing
I now realize, after looking at stats, Rosalina in the Flame Flyer with inside drift would actually be a good combo. Compared to Funky Flame Runner, it has higher speed and weight, as well as the same mini turbo. The only important stat funky flame is higher on is drift.
Bowser Mini Coupe would also be good, as the only thing funky flame be speed
They are actually the same speed (84.01) and rosa flame flyer would have 3 frames more mt.
Troy's "Buffed Vehicles" mod idea gave me a really cool mod idea. I don't create mods, but if any mod creators are willing to have a go at creating this, then please do it! ;)
So firstly, there could be an added menu within the game for altering vehicle/character stats, like acceleration, mini-turbo, speed, and that sort of thing, but also along with some bonus stats. The bonus stats could include making vehicles inside drifting (and altering the tightness of the inside drift as well (@ the spear)) and/or outside drifting, being able to wheelie/not wheelie with any vehicle in the game, and being able to achieve orange mini-turbos (or only blue mini-turbos) with any vehicle in the game.
These settings should only be used in friend matches for pretty obvious reasons; we don't want a jetsetter that's able to wheelie and take turns at mach bike status online. Additionally, in the stat selection menu, you could have different presets for a particular gametype, like vs race, battle, or item rain.
Another idea (this is probably my favorite idea) that I had was that you could totally randomize the stats of all vehicles for races. You could have the option to see what stats your vehicle would have, or be able to go into it totally blindly. On top of that, you could have the ability to randomize any stat you wanted, and only that stat.
I would LOVE to see this mod get implemented into the game. Obviously there are some flaws that I overlooked on the surface that would have to be resolved, but this would really be such a good time. Thanks a lot if you read all the way through this😂

Something I learned from this video: whenever Troy says something like "I'm going to dodge" or "Let's dodge" then that comes true
I'd like to say, once you practice enough, the outside drift is less of a problem and feels more like an advantage. Try using it for a month and see. That bike is the best
I don't think anybody has noticed that the first race has "Fist Bump" as it's theme. I'm actually kind of intrigued to see how many people even know what that song is.

Fun fact, most people use kart drift at a 90° turn which is why most people assume karts are bad, your actually suppose to start a kart drift roughly 3 seconds before the 90° turn to get the orange boost via outside drift, so getting a 250%-300% boost duration 90% of the time vs doing a 2 second wheelie, kart mechs in mkw were actually suppose to counter the bikes wheelie (which only increase your speed by about 25%-35%) on tracks with a lot of turn like n64 bowser castle but then the ability to trick your opponents via outside drift went out the window cause inside drift bikes were basically hyper buffed bikes
Mini turbos increase speed by 1.2x and wheelies are 1.15x, so even proper kart lines are still slower than mediocre bike lines on most tracks.
