    I am not sure of your background but you really know your stuff. I am learning a lot from you.. You said the wall will serve as a load bearing when you put the beams on it. What will be the alternative if you don't put the beams on the walls.? Thanks for sharing this great information..

    • @Lerwincel
      @Lerwincel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The load bearing alternative is what i had in my original plan. What you see in the video is the non-load bearing option. That means i can use glass instead of blocks as done in some office buildings

    Another very informative episode !
    Now, @11:30, what is the width and height of your cast beam? 8"w x 18"h ? What is the longest span for the beam ?
    Did you run the resized beam by a structural engineer in reference to the beam span ? Thank you.

    • @Lerwincel
      @Lerwincel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cast beam = 9"w x 18"h. Longest beam span at ~18'. Ye, resized beam approved by an engineer.

    Thank you very much for your video series, they are very insightful. Within a week i've been watching them over and over, and its given me a good idea of the key areas of building construction. If you dont mind, I have a question for you, when you indicated that you paid GHc2500 for the carpentry work and also GHc2500 for the steel bending, was it for the entire floor or just a section of it, either the 3 or 2 bedroom apartment? And also for the carpentry, did the amount include removing the plywood and prop ups after the casting of the concrete was completed, or was that too a separate, and if it was, how much was it?

    • @Lerwincel
      @Lerwincel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The price is for just one side, i.e, 3 bedroom side. The removal and packing of the formwork is the reason for the price increase for the next floor job. I think it was GHC4000. You can double check in Ep 5

    • @Lerwincel

      I wouldn't know exactly why, but possible reasons could include, poor quality paints, capillary action cos there was no water proofing and chemical composition (mainly saltiness) of the soil
