$500 a month isn't a lot of money to rely on and your dividends shouldn't be taken out of your portfolio but reinvested. Your securities would appreciate much faster. For example, no matter how the market performs, you'll always receive nore shares each year when you reinvest.
My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

I started investing because I liked the extra money from stock dividends. The key, in my opinion, is to make enough money through both investing and dividends, so you can live off the dividends without selling anything. This way, you might pass on this financial advantage to your kids. I've put more than $600K into dividend stocks over the years, and I'm still buying more, planning to keep going until prices drop more.
Hearing from an experienced investor who has survived the crisis and prospered is always comforting. It could be worrisome when your portfolio goes from green to red, but if you have invested in strong firms, you should just keep growing them and stick to your goal.
I wholeheartedly concur, which is why I appreciate giving an investment coach the power of decision-making. Given their specialized expertise and education, as well as the fact that each and every one of their skills is centered on harnessing risk for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable developments, it is practically impossible for them to underperform. I have made over 1.5 million dollars working with an investment coach for more than two years.

Saving at least 20% of your income in a 401(k) can help ensure that you have enough money to retire comfortably. By saving this much, you can take advantage of compound interest and potentially grow your retirement savings over time.

I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income
I completely agree; I am 50 years old, recently retired, and have approximately $1,250,000 in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, having a portfolio-advisor for investing is genius!

Find stocks with market-beating yields and shares that at least keep pace with the market for a long term. For a successful long-term strategy I recommend you seek the guidance a broker or financial advisor.
Very true , I diversified my $400K portfolio across multiple market with the aid of an investment advisor, I have been able to generate over $900k in net profit across high dividend yield stocks, ETF and bonds in few months.
My advisor is ‘’Isabel Cecilia Ramsey’’ she’s highly qualified and experienced in the financial market. She has extensive knowledge of portfolio diversity and is considered an expert in the field. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market

Stocks > Real Estate. Even if it made less money, the maintenance requirements alone makes up the difference. Annoying tenants, repairs, regular tenants, so many inspections, rules, ordinances, etc...
I have 100K in Robinhoods cash account earning 4.4%. I'm getting $366 per month or $4,400 per year. I went on Robinhood to buy some of the stocks you mentioned but did estimations on each of those stocks if I bought $100K for each of them. It turns out that none of those dividends beat the return of 4.4% return from the cash account. I realize that I would miss out on the gains and the dividends, especially from the VOO ETF, but with the market up in the air I stand to lose a lot too. Wouldn't it be better to hold onto the 4.4% until there's some solid ground under the market?
I've spent hours upon hours on leaning about investing, and I've learned multiple times more watching you for one day, then I have with all my other time. I kid you not. I subbed today and have watched your videos all day at work, about 20, and I've learned so much. Thank you for your channel and transparency.
>>Wall Street pitched so-called quality stocks with high profitability and low debt, as a kind of insurance against whatever the economy might throw at you. Quality stocks have underperformed the S&P500 this year, waiting may not be the best decision for investors. It might sound basic or generic, but getting in touch with a financial adviser was how I was able to outperform the market and raise a profit of $350,000 since Jan 2022. For me, its the most ideal way to jump into the fin-market these days!
@Gary Linc Enns My Financial Advisor is *"Juanita Renee Hayes"* I found her on a CNBC interview where she was featured and reached out to her afterwards. She has since provide entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. You can look her up online if you care supervision. I basically follow her market moves and haven’t regretted doing so.
So many questions. How much you put cash to get just $500 a month? All dividents you mentioned are payable once every 3 months. And they cost a lot. Plus the go down in value. It is not a smart move to make when I can just buy a 6 months bond and make 5,5-6%
Excellent video as always. If picking stocks is making your head spin and want a quick and easy way to add dividend exposure, the Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF (SCHD) is a solid choice!
This showed up on my homepage feed today and even though it was put out ten months ago, the information is still solid. I own JPM (.84% of my portfolio), ABBV (4.90%), PEP (3.87%), and KHC (.49%). I don't own XOM, but do have CVX (1.13%) in that space. I don't own HD, but do have LOW's (2.78%) and finally I have JNJ (4.06%) and five shares of it spinoff or whatever they are going to call it with Kenvue (.04%). Pepsi is one of my favorite stocks at the present time. If KO and MDLZ had a baby it would look a lot like PEPSI. You highlighted stocks make up 18.11% of the 65 position portfolio. First time I've seen you channel, I subscribe and catch more content as it comes out. Jim
Really good video Henry, and I'd like to add that 55% of PepsiCo's 2021 revenue (sales) were from food! And that Lay's is far and away the leading potato chip brand, with a 29.6% market share compared to Pringles at 9.6%. And, they are a DIVIDEND KING (50 straight years of dividend growth).
Dividends are taken directly from the net income of the company = it is taken directly from the future investments/improvements = negative for the share price. Both now and forever.
How many shares of each stock do you have? I am getting confused as you are talking about how much they pay every year yet your title says every month?
Lack of trading discipline is the primary reason for intraday trading losses it is estimated that nearly 80- 85% of intraday traders end up losing money in the stock market Experiencing loss is also part of the game but that don't mean you should give up. my advice to new beginners is trade with professional expert on profitable platform
Trading is mental game, that is why most people lose money because they cannot control their emotions. Because the prevalent idea of our culture is to effortless indulge and focus on their own pleasure and wellbeing, but controlling your emotions is unpleasant and painful
Good content but what's lacking is explaining how much you have invested to achieve the $500+ a month. Rough estimates reveal hundreds of thousands in shares need to be invested in these various securities just to earn over $500 in dividends a month, is that right?
When oil went negative, I jumped into XLE at around $22 per share, the dividend was a monster and even though it was way off, the companies behind it were quality, fast forward it trades between $80-$92 so got a huge boost, but the original investment is making roughly 17% in dividends or something around that. Sometime timing is the difference maker and it takes experience to recognize the oversold
With inflation currently at about 10%, my primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $240k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains, sure I'm all in on the long term game, but with my savings are lying waste to inflation and my portfolio losing gains everyday, I need a remedy asap.
it's all about finding the right moment to take advantage of and generate colossal profit, which is why you need to do your research and find a portfolio--Advisor.
i agree hobbs, I thought I was doing alright profit wise, until I needed assistance with diversification, I reached out to a financial advisor and in less than a year I was just $51,000 shy away from $850,000 which is like 7x more than I make on my own
This recommendation is coming at the right time because i am literally grasping for straws atm! I looked her up online and scheduled a phone call with her.
Series 1 Bonds are currently at 9.62%. Ally Bank is currently at 2.10% APY. Have to have cash on side for scenarios like this. Where at least 100% of your money isnt losing to inflation. I have about 40k (dropped from 50k+) invested. $20k in "cash" (bank) but have it in two different banks (2.10% and 2.50%) while yes this money is at risk to surely lose to inflation, at a time like this the cash on side is not only leverage to seize an opportunity if one to arise, but also cuts my loss that my portfolio is currently seeing. In short most people are not only losing 10% to inflation but more due to unrealized losses. While im also losing im not losing to the full extent most are. I can put 10k in Series 1 rn if I wished and would not lose to inflation, but this is where opportunity cost comes in. Have to wait a bit to see if a good opportunity arises...
Building out a solid dividend portfolio is something I plan on doing in the future when I’m more focused on passive income. Right now while I’m young I am mainly focused on building my wealth and investing in myself while setting myself up for retirement in the background through my 401k and Roth. I think your portfolio will shift with you as your life stage changes, and that’s the beautiful thing about investing. This was a great video Humphrey and thanks for the ideas!!
I commit about Kraftheinz is that you mentioned mostly heinz products. Kraft by itself has products in multiple sectors internationally. What kid hasnt heard of Kraft mac and cheese, Lunchables, and Jello. Campbells soup, Philadelphia cream cheese, Boca Burger, and so many more.
JP Morgan Chase, AbbVie, PepsiCo, Kraft Heinz, Exxon Mobil, Home Depot, VOO, Johnson & Johnson. I don’t have any of them individually, I think some are in my ETFs.
why would you risk buying stocks if all you can get is a dividend under 5% when you could make more than that in a bank account without the risk? I like your chose of stocks, but you should put your money where it can get the highest return with the least risk
Have you reviewed the idea of just investing into things such as SCHD/JEPI in order to diversify throughout their holdings while also having a high yield?
Total return is more important than just dividend yield. When stocks pay dividends instead of reinvest thats capital excluded from the company and value taken away from the share price. Both dividend yield and share price affect the total return; its less important where that return is coming from. Whilst dividends produce regular cash flow if thats really needed stocks could just be sold instead. Not to mention in the US dividends incur the horrid 30% tax. What other difference is there? Also its worth mentioning dividends paid out as stock instead of cash can dilute earnings, which can also have a negative impact on share prices in the short term.
hopefully oil doesn't go anywhere. having all of our cars running on electricity will allow the government to shut off our cars whenever they feel like it. So you won't get to choose when to drive your car if they shut your car down.
Essentially at the time of the video you had around $k180k invested in 7 stocks and based off your dividends in lets just say JPM you had around 1524 shares with a $1/share dividend paid quarterly? $508x12= $6096/4= $1524*118= $179,832. So how does the average guy making $55k a year get there? If he saves 10% of his income with no pay raise, no kids, no rent hike, gas hike, inflation, etc. it would take 16 years to get the same initial investment... then another 20-30 to see the compounding interest take effect... I don't see the practicality of this video for anyone who doesn't have lots of disposable income...
I know oil isn't going away anytime soon, but considering the auto industry is headed toward EVs over the next 10 years, shouldn't we be investing in the big electric utilities that also pay good dividends? Just curious what your thoughts are.
Looks like a pretty well rounded portfolio, but I think you should really look at some energy stocks for dividends. Some are SO, AEP, DUK, ED, all pay a nice dividend and tend to swing up when the market is doing poorly. People like to hide in these until the market swings back.
Great video! Same with me man, been getting much more in to dividends. Specifically dividend ETFs for even less risk but a high yield dividend (made some good videos on this for anyone interested)
Your videos offer so much real value! Thanks for staying true to your video titles unlike many others who use cheesy titles to attract viewers! Thanks!!!
I like the idea of Webull, but I have my brokerages, and I need to reduce the number of stocks I have and focus on adding to positions. Once I can, at some point, sell some growth stocks for a decent profit, I could consider adding another company.
WHOA BIG FELLA!!!! In the opening video he quotes companies paying a dividend every quarter. However the numbers he quotes are yearly numbers. AND.....they don't add up. This is confusing and misleading.
These are very valuable info for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about 109k now to put in the market.
My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless. I’ve only ever saved(510,000), never invested but want to start.
You didn't mention your total investment. Would you mind sharing or giving an idea how much investment is required to earn that amount in monthly dividend?
Oil is not going anywhere. It is part of every aspect of your life. Pharmaceuticals, clothes you wear, food you eat, all your electronics, and your transportation even if you don't own a car. That just scratches the surface & doesn't include electricity. The only "earth friendly" energy that can supply all the energy we need is hydroelectric and nucllear
Great vid, its inspiring to see portfolios bringing in big amounts per month from dividends! I'm 25yo and still in the early stages of building out my dividend portfolio to get to financial freedom from dividends, I just started a channel to track my progress and to motivate young people like me to start investing. I will be there financially free one day!! Good luck growing your portfolio too!
Great video, my only critique is saying Home Depot and lowes are there only two home improvement stores. Here in the Midwest we also have Menards and fleet farm. They definitely are smaller, but in Mn, menards has as big, if not bigger presence than either HD or low. So it does depend on where you live, (obviously, I know) 🤣
"Oil is not something we're hopefully relying on" 🤣🤣🤣 Do you prefer someone to flip a switch on your autonomy, or do you prefer to own your own methods of autonomy? Do you prefer Co2 which plants actually need to convert, or heavy metals and lithium which get buried in a dump, poison the earth, and take hundreds if not thousands of years to break down, vs gases that convert to other forms?
Surprised how quickly investors turn away from tech stocks, I bought Microsoft last year just before the sell off, didn't phase me one bit, I plan on holding for decades let alone years. A company like Microsoft is never going anywhere and clearly brings new ideas and iniatives to the table on an on-going basis.
I bought a bunch of Microsoft too at about $333 last November. Disappointed I didn't sell in January when rate hikes announced and now stuck -25% but it'll recover one day I guess

Electric vehicles will be a novelty, and fossil fuel dominance is here to stay for many decades to come! The electric grid will need to be multiplied with many more power plants added. Do the math! Electric vehicles take a lot of electricity to charge. They’ll have to reduce the population by 75% .

It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. You can use online calculators to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. Saving at least 20% of your income in a 401(k) can help ensure that you have enough money to retire comfortably. By saving this much, you can take advantage of compound interest and potentially grow your retirement savings over time.
Effective personal finance management is more important than the amount of money saved, regardless of whether income is earned through a job or investment. Individuals can seek counsel from a certified financial advisor to optimize financial outcomes, who can provide specialized advice and methods to decrease expenses and maximize income.
@@amolejoshua7452 I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day-to-day investment decisions being guided by an advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

As a new investor it's always great to hear from a person who has gone through all the difficult times and come ahead of it. What are some strategies i can employ to be successful?
The name of my investment advisor is “Natalie Lynn Fisk She is a true genius when it comes to diversified portfolios, which make portfolios less susceptible to market downturns, and has a strong reputation in her area. Rate cuts commence in June 2024, taking 6-8 months to complete. A potential crash, if any, might occur by March 2025. The soft landing narrative is gaining traction, making this big recession everyone is calling for less likely. With $1 million from a business sale, I'm seeking profitable investment opportunities for the next 3 years.
The financial market is a reliable choice. Diversify your portfolio with I-bonds, stocks (ETFs, REITs, dividend-paying stocks), and bitcoin. Given your budget, I recommend hiring a fiduciary to ensure you receive professional insights for a fee.
Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.
this is definitely considerable! think you could suggest any professional/advisors i can get on the phone with? i'm in dire need of proper portfolio allocation

Retirement is now more difficult than it was in the past. it's all about balancing your risk tolerance with your long-term goals. Maybe consider speaking to an advisor to help in diversifying your portfolio to spread out the risk.

I've been an investor in Apple because I strongly believe in the company. I've always believed in the stock, but now I don't know whether to re-distribute my $70k portfolio and put some money in Nvidia, especially now that we are experiencing a market correction.
Look for stocks that have paid steady, increasing dividends for years (or decades), and have not cut their dividends even during recessions. which may reduce your dividend gains or income, speaking to a certified market strategist can help with pointers

I agree that many people are considering NVDA as the "Stock of the year." However, I'm curious about which stocks could potentially become the next META in terms of growth over the next decade. I've allocated $200k for investment, aiming to retire comfortably.
I think the next big thing will be A.I. For enduring growth akin to META, it's vital to avoid impulsive decisions driven by short-term fluctuations. Prioritize patience and a long-term perspective most importantly consider financial advisory for informed buying and selling decisions.

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.
Viviana Marisa Coelho is her name. She is regarded as a genius in her area and works for Empower Financial Services. By looking her up online, you can quickly verify her level of experience. She is well knowledgeable about financial markets.
Thanks a lot for the recommendation. I'll send her an email and I hope I'm able to connect with her.
The stock market rally still appears to be in the midst of a normal pullback. I’m looking to remunerate a lump sum into the stock market for the bull run, is this a good time to buy or no? my reserve of $450K is laying waste and I don't know what to do at this point tbh.
Find stocks with market-beating yields and shares that at least keep pace with the market long term. For a successful long-term strategy you have to seek guidance from a financial advisor.
I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of an advisor, before I started seeing any significant results happens in my portfolio, been using the same advisor and I’ve scaled up 750k within 2 years, whether a bullish or down market, both makes for good profit, it all depends on where you’re looking.

Is this a good time to buy stocks? I know everyone is saying we are in the bull market and all, but obviously there are strategies to maneuver when there is a bear market but these strategies doesn't come common to the average folk, I'm attempting to create a portfolio for me and my children that will at least be $1.2m in value.
As you are aware, higher risk equals higher rewards, yet professionals often execute these flawless high-value deals.
By talking with an adviser, I was able to remain afloat in the market, increase the percentage of my portfolio to about 65% since January, and generate over 950K in net profit from high dividend generating equities in a short period of time. If you're not sure about the market, you ought to give it a try.
This aligns perfectly with my desire to organize my finances prior to retirement. Could you provide me with access to your advisor?

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Instead of trying to predict and prognosticate the stability of the market and precisely when the change is going to happen, a better strategy is simply having a portfolio that’s well prepared for any eventually, that’s how some folks' been averaging 150K every 7week these past 4months according to Bloomberg.

Something I'll be waiting for. US pharma stocks are generally quite good, but there is one underlying concern I have with them as to why I am reluctant to put money into them - predominantly because I'm not certain how long the US will continue to have a heavily privatised healthcare industry. Everywhere else on earth has a health service, while the US uniquely has a health sector, and I think it's an inevitability that the US will eventually shift toward a similar model reflecting what almost every other country in the world has; I'm just not sure when this would happen.

22 years old and made $120 in dividends back in 2022. Been reinvesting that back in to grow more this year.

Man the bots really make the comment section a dumpster fire. Be careful out there folks.
For dividends, SCHD > VOO
Tip 1% of the 🔝 1%
Did you mean SCHD is better than voo? How about sphd?
robinhood 4.15% done! thx for watching video
I know oil isn't going away anytime soon, but considering the auto industry is headed toward EVs over the next 10 years, shouldn't we be investing in the big electric utilities that also pay good dividends? Just curious what your thoughts are.
I was thinking the same thing.
DUK, SO, D are some good ones to look into as far as energy companies. if you find others, let me know!
Hi Humphrey do you recommend investing in etf's or individual stocks?
Looks like a pretty well rounded portfolio, but I think you should really look at some energy stocks for dividends. Some are SO, AEP, DUK, ED, all pay a nice dividend and tend to swing up when the market is doing poorly. People like to hide in these until the market swings back.
Not at ALL sure about Shel
thanks Nygold! good point
MReit like $ARR is a good BUY !!
i was waiting for how much you actually need to make that $500 a month? with my $6000 portfolio, forget about dividends. get next to nothing
Thanks for the video will check the stocks out
Great video! Same with me man, been getting much more in to dividends. Specifically dividend ETFs for even less risk but a high yield dividend (made some good videos on this for anyone interested)
Same here. I spread over high dividend etfs and stocks with 18% monthly dividend rendement.
Can someone explain me why people not just keep cash in robinhood gold that yields 4.15% on uninvested cash? And has no risk?
You didn't mention your total investment. Would you mind sharing or giving an idea how much investment is required to earn that amount in monthly dividend?
Would like to know
You can work the numbers backwards to figure that out
Wish you shared how much you invested in each stock to make $508 per month!
Very informative video. What do you think of holding SCHD as a percentage of your dividend portfolio?
Personally love it. Also check SPYD
Good luck growing your portfolio too!
very well presented. both voice and content.
Great video, my only critique is saying Home Depot and lowes are there only two home improvement stores. Here in the Midwest we also have Menards and fleet farm. They definitely are smaller, but in Mn, menards has as big, if not bigger presence than either HD or low. So it does depend on where you live, (obviously, I know) 🤣
I'm In Omaha, NE and Menards is by far the King here.
Heinz sales are down because they abandoned their Leamington, ON factory. Canadian folks rallied against Heinz in support of French’s. Look it up.
How much do you currently have invested to yield $500 monthly in dividends?
$170,000 or so.
Thanks for ur input I’ll do more research
