Hey Bob good to see you back on the water! I got one of the skydio drones as well and it crashed into the water on me as well. Now mine was in like 5 feet so I got it back and skydio was good about replacement but did take some time. I looked more into them and water is not their friend the sensors have a hard time with water so that is why your most likely went down. Water was calm and you had clear sky’s did not know up from down. I am back with my DJI mini and the new mini 3 coming out in July looks to have active track now so going to look at that one. All the best have to meet up for a ride Cheers!!
I was just going to tell Bob about your experience with the same drone if he didn't see your video. This is why I'll always own a DJI product drone. Best on the market.

You are 65, I am76, I have a GTX 230 at the dealers waiting for a part, you drive a 2021 Telluride, white SX, .......I have a 2021 Telluride white SX.....and my name is Bob as well.....anyways good for you in providing great videos!
Great video Bob but sitting on your ski on those sharp stones 🙈and your still running the engine in to shallow water especially after that last expense mistake,sorry about your drone,keep up the great videos Bob 👌

also I remember like 10 years ago the Ontario government put something in the water and we had thousands of dead fish everywhere it was so gross, couldn't even swim without running into a giant carp I think they were.

As you went towards the shore I thought oh no, not rocks again. but as soon as you put the drone up I knew it was doomed. next seasons opener, attacked by a Bear? we all feel the pain but sadly it makes great content have a safe season

I feel for you, I had a Holy Stone and tried it a couple of times and it would suddenly take off out of control and would not respond to the GPS, I could bring it back fighting me as it wanted to go hard northwest and I would hold the control to the southeast and it would slowly come back, I was not happy with that after 4 tries it did the same thing over and over so I sent it back.....junk.
Hi Bob, Sorry to hear about you losing your drone. I also lost a drone over the water a few years ago and I know the feeling. Mine was only a few months old. I have just purchased a Mavic air 2. I am interested to hear how you like your new GTX 300 when you get it. I picked my 2022 GTX Limited 300 up in January and I am really enjoying it. Hope your drone insurance doesn’t give you too much grief. John

Skydio is miles ahead when it comes to tracking. DJI Mavic 3 even with APAS 5.0, cant catch up to Skydio. Sadly we are seeing more issue with Skydio on top of water .. DC Rainmaker does a lots of comparisons as well
Yes I watch his videos. I am just surprised at how this happened. The drone crashed itself with no input from me. I am thinking that you need to keep it higher over water so it does not get confused about altitude.
@@bobsudeyko4088 yes and frequency jumps / reflects over water ( regardless of drone manufacturers) oh well, like you said in last year season opening video - everything is workable, everything is fixable bob ! Good luck with warranty claim
@@bobsudeyko4088 Got out for the first time here in Rhode Island this morning. Added the Riva Racing Sponsons over the winter on my GTX 230/2021. Was in some heavy chop and wind conditions. I noticed a huge difference in handling and turns. Much better control of ski. Felt very solid. Water temp in Narragansett Bay is 52 degrees F. Have a great season!
Probally would have been less than a $100 buck if you had just done it your self wear Ring is a EZ Job.....My Motto is if you cant work and fix'em Maybe u better have a Thick Wallet...

My dealer said it could be a month for the electronic parts. That could mean as late as mid June. Hope yours comes through soon.

It is a long way away. I now live in Thornhill but was born in the Yukon. Still a northerner at heart even though I have been gone for a long time.

I did and it has arrived. Still in its crate awaiting some electronics. Maybe in the next few weeks.

It doesn’t hurt it. Four years of that and the hull is fine. Yes there are some scratches. What you don’t want is to hit anything hard at speed.

Have you ever priced out a new impeller and wear ring. Parts were the bulk of that cost.
