    Yesterday i test drove a Tuscon Hybrid, Santa Fe Hybrid, and Rav4 hybrid. I prefer the look and resale value of the Rav4 but that's it. After driving the hyundais I really dont know why anyone would buy a Rav4. The hyundais, Tuscon especially, are so much better. It's not even close.

    We bought the Santa Fe hybrid a month ago and we just love it , we test drove the Toyota rav 4 plug in model and wasn’t impressed interior was very plasticky and uncomfortable although it did have more power the Hyundai is way more comfortable with more features

    We are on our 4th Santa Fe right now and will probably buy the Hybrid Santa Fe next year. These have been fantastic vehicles for us. There has also been a Sonata and Tucson along the way. We have owned Hondas, Toyotas, Jeeps and Mitsubishis in the past and are very, very pleased with the quality, comfort and longevity of our Hyundais!

      Hey Kevin is your Hyundai Santa Fe reliable and how’s the resale value.. I’m a bit hesitant to buy Hyundai due to story people say about poor reliability and the car depreciate a lot after 4-5 yrs. Please let me know.

      @@slyder3450 Our Sanat Fes have been awesome in reliability. [So have 2 Tucsons]. All of them went to family after we would get new ones and they have all gotten 200,000+ miles. So since they weren't traded in, I can't really speak to the depreciation, but our family is always lined up to get our vehicles whenever we are getting rid of them. All have been extremely comfortable too for adults in the back seat for long trips.

    I have been in the market for a new vehicle for about 6 months now. I started looking at the Highlander hybrid, but the cost was way beyond what we wanted to pay. Looked at the Rav4 and Prime, but the cargo area was too small, the ride was too hard, felt every bump I the road. Seats were were cramped feeling. Looked at the Venza, more expensive than the Rav4 no real tech to speak of. Then I looked at the 2022 Sante Fe, Limited AWD. a much nicer ride feel, comfortable and plenty of room for all our stuff we carry on trips. This will be my next purchase after 25 years of only Toyota.

      You won't be disappointed. I've owned Hondas, Toyotas, and a BMW. In 2017, I traded in a 2004 4Runner and 2007 Sienna for a 2016 Sonata hybrid and a 2018 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T SEL with leather/power seats and haven't looked back. In fact, in 2020, I turned the Sonata over to my son when he got his license and picked up a 2017 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T Ultimate. Now, within the next few months, our daughter will be getting her license and I'll turn the Ultimate over to her and pick up a new Santa Fe Hybrid Limited or Calligraphy.
      Value for the dollar is unbeatable.
      People say you get $4,000 or $5,000 more in resale with a Toyota but you are paying that much more up front anyway, so the net net is zero.

    I want to thank you for staying firm on the question of long term reliability of these turboed hybrids. I’ve noticed in previous videos that people got frustrated with you because they don’t believe the newest Hyundai Kia products should be docked for that since all they want to hear are positives. Don’t let anyone influence you from making honest reviews. It will pay dividends down the road

    Although Shari showed it, I think a better comparison would be with the Toyota Venza. It's more upscale than the RAV4, feels a bit more spacious (except for the hatch area). Plus MPG is also excellent. Just did a road trip, around 800 km, through the mountains in British Columbia and averaged 6.1 l/100km. Pretty incredible considering how mountainous the drive was. But I will say I really like the interior of the Sante Fe Hybrid. Beautiful. In the end, we went with Toyota reliability in choosing the Venza.

      I am facing the same choice, and it is a tough one. Toyota reliability and solid engineering is hard to overcome in the decision process. I own a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Eco, and it has met or exceeded my expectations. Great mileage (30-31🥪mpg hiway and city avg). I am a fan of Hyundai. But I am a senior and would like this to be my last car. I am also considering a Toyota 4runner. I may even consider a used 4runner with up to 120,000 miles on it.

    First of all, love all your videos - thanks for sharing them.
    Secondly, can you please cover the following topics in future videos.
    Process to import a Car from Canada to the US and its implications.
    I am looking to buy a compact sedan ( Mazda 3 or Civic 2022) in Canada but will be moving to the US next year. How long will I will stay depends on visa status (hopefully 3+ years)
    As such, should I buy a used car and sell it on departure?
    Buy a new car ( my preference due to safety features in a new car) and take it to the US? Or sell it at departure and buy a similar one in the US?
    Are there 1 year leases available for new cars?
    Warranty coverage of car manufacturers across North America. For e.g I have heard Mazda extends Canadian 3 year warranty to US and Honda doesn't. Does it make a difference when moving from Canada to the US or is that not a big deal?
    Active safety feature comparison across brands i.e Honda Sensing VS Toyota Sense 2 vs Mazda i-ActiveSense vs Hyndai. Is there one better than the other? Which brand car to choose if active safety features are a top priority as a new driver.
    Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!

    I've been taking my 80+ yr. old mother out shopping for a new car. After looking at the usual sedans like Toyota Camry, used Avalon and others, I noticed that she was having to climb in and out of the lowing riding sedans. I suggested she try sitting in a SUV. She was easily able to get in and out of the SUV. After taking her to drive the Toyota Rav 4, and KIA Sportage, Honda CRV and HRV, she finally set her sights on the Hyundai Tuscon and Santa Fe. The Santa Fe was mush more roomy and less complicated for her to drive. She especially like the simplicity of the control console with buttons for climate control and the like. Then we drove the Sant Fe Hybrid and the quiet ride has her convinced that this was her pick to buy. Top that with the excellent gas mileage that the hybrid offers, it was a no brainer. She loves her Santa Fe hybrid.

    • @carhelpcorner
      @carhelpcorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The regular hybrid does not require any plug or charging. The electric motor and gas engine run together and the battery is charged while driving. A plug-in hybrid has a much larger battery and can run only on electricity for 30-40 miles before the gas engine turns on. It does need to be plugged in and charged, otherwise it will run like the regular hybrid.

    Hi Shari. Nice video but I don’t understand why you keep comparing the Santa Fe to RAV4??? Doesn’t make any sense.
    The Santa Fe is the same size or larger than the Toyota Venza.
    So you should compare it to the Venza or Highlander.
    Now here is the thing:
    I own the 2021 Santa Fe Hybrid and I think it’s the best suv hybrid in the world.
    If you compare the fuel economy that I get (which is 5.9L/100km on average for city and hwy) it blows any Toyota Suv out of the water, even the RAV4 doesn’t get a 1000 kilometres on the tank like I do.
    Compare apples to apples my friend!

    • @Adamtrachtenbergdametime
      @Adamtrachtenbergdametime 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100% right. My neighbour has the new Venza and he only gets 600 km on one tank which is not even close to our Santa Fe Hybrid. So it blows the venza out of the water too. Ford Escape hybrid has the best fuel economy from what I’m told!

    • @twobabyboyz
      @twobabyboyz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Rav4 hybrid has a much smaller fuel tank at 55L compared to the 67L tank on the sante fe so you can't really compare the fuel economy straight km to km. The Rav4 is rated to get around 950 km on its 55L tank.

    • @JonMoralesLA
      @JonMoralesLA 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@twobabyboyz What? Fuel economy has nothing to do with the size of the fuel tank

    • @twobabyboyz
      @twobabyboyz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JonMoralesLA it is absolutely a factor at play. The km are more expensive on a vehicle that takes 67 liters to fill compared to one that takes 55. So if you get 500 km on each vehicle the smaller tank is the more fuel efficient vehicle.

    • @JonMoralesLA
      @JonMoralesLA 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@twobabyboyz The size of fuel tank only tells you how much fuel a vehicle can hold but nothing about fuel economy. The fuel economy would remain the same wether or not you had a 67 L tank vs a 55 L tank. Sure you can go further with more fuel at any given fuel efficiency, but the size of the fuel tank DOES NOT change or determine the fuel economy. What the fuel tank would directly effect is a vehicles maximum range per tank of fuel...but NOT the fuel economy. One should not factor in maximum range per tank in determining Fuel economy.
      Example: Vehicle A has fuel economy of 32 MPG with 5 Gallon tank. Vehicle B fuel economy of 32MPG with 10 Gallon tank. I can use the fuel efficiency multiplied by the tank size to get the maximum range per tank but as you can see the fuel efficiency/fuel economy is the same with both vehicles while the maximum range per tank is different.

      Scary, and I'm sure it can happen to any vehicle of any make on occasion. But this Hyundai/Kia issue has been ongoing for 10+ model years across almost their entire line-up with hundreds of thousands of cars recalled. The worrying thing is, they still don't seem to have figured out a solution. It's a shame, because they otherwise are good cars and definitely give you a lot of car/features for the money.

    My Santa Fe has been the worst car and biggest lemon that I’ve ever bought, Hyundai never again. I’m constantly replacing defective/bad parts. Had to do a complete rebuild of the motor at 100,000. Do your research Hyundai has class action lawsuits for their faulty engines. Theta 2 engines.

    toyota rav4 is more in sales COZ 70% are used for commercial and 30 % for mileage and for long time. santa fe hybrid has little less on mileage but it hag more luxury which you will not hate, about the record- santa fe came really fast to challenge with rav4. i will choose santafe coz it has both milage and luxury feel
