Creating memories. Nothing better. Throwing some shade to all those critiquing what he did or how he did it. Shut up It's not your camper it's not your trip.
It sure is! Thank you so much for watching. I ended up getting down to 8° but the camper stayed warm and the boys and I were safe. But we left pretty early in the morning to get back home. Great experience.
Wearing that boy out starting that generator !😅 I like the little fan ! Can’t beat a wool blanket 👍🏼 pretty nice how you utilized the Mr buddy heater 👍🏼 them mre’s are pretty nice , complete !! Nice adventure guys !! See ya in the next one !😊
Looks like a fun camping trip with your boys. Next time you cook an MRE you need more “airflow”. Lol Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my mom in September and my stepdad the previous September. Hope to see more videos soon. Take care my friend.
@FatMatAdventures very cool video, another great adventure in the books. the chili and beans looked interesting, the hot pouch probably didnt have enough water, the water pouch should have been filled to the top fill line, not sure how full it was but pretty neat, thanks for the vid and I think i know where your location was very pretty site.
Hey buddy, thanks so much for watching. Yeah it was kind of weird. We put a little bit of water in it and then I put a little bit more and it never heated up. So I'm not sure what the deal is with that one but I have a couple more from my dad to try out. We had a good time. The kids stayed safe and warm and I can't wait to do it again. Hopefully we can hook up soon brother.
You're right about that, 11 degrees this morning in Richardson. Hike the yellow trail a couple of weeks back and white trail next day. Spent three nights boondocking. If i see you out there would like to say hello. O yea just saw your overnight at White Top Mountain, was there this pass fall, and hike where Luke spent the night a few times. Take care see you on the trail. . @@FatMatAdventures
@soninlaw1955 yep it sure was cold. Yeah that would be awesome to meet you. Oh that's super cool. White top mountain was really awesome. His video was amazing with all the fog and clouds and things. Mine was kind of lackluster but it was still a really good experience.
One thing to know is never have your camper plugged in to electric until you unplug the 7 prong for the truck once you hook up to power the plug to the truck has power going to it.
I wouldn’t recommend it for long term winter camping but it’s warm enough for a few nights. The heater works well but it’s not insulated well so you end up with a cold floor and a hot ceiling.
I had to stop watching after 10:40. Why did you open the pouch and dump the meal out? And then dump it from a big pot to a smaller one? Why not just heat it up in water, then eat it?
Chili and beans for dinner equals at 35K heater in the middle of the night. Well played Sir!
Haha! Yessir! 😊
What a good dad! Making memories with your boys that they will have for a lifetime. I love that they have your easy-going attitude! 😀
Awe, thank you so much! That means a lot!
Was waiting to say, "you flooded it!" to your kid! Good job on the start up recovery!
He sure did! Thanks!
Nice video. Your 17b is awesome and I really like your Tundra!
Thanks very much 😊. I have a Ram now. Miss the tundra but really liking the Ram.

Is the Coleman a seasonal trailer? Didn't know it can withstand the cold.

What about pipes freezing?
Great question - we did have fresh water pipes freeze unfortunately.

PSA … A Mr. Buddy heater in an unventilated area can result in carbon monoxide poisoning.
Yep! Good thing it was vented.

So, "FatMat", your video is titled "Winter Camping in the Coleman 17b - Will it stay warm in 8° F?" um, so did it?
Yes.
I had to stop watching after 10:40. Why did you open the pouch and dump the meal out? And then dump it from a big pot to a smaller one? Why not just heat it up in water, then eat it?
I could have and it would have worked well. I have never used the heater to cook on so I wanted to try it.
@@FatMatAdventures I understand that. Use the heater, boil water, put the pouch in that!
@fredgarvin1465 oh I gotcha lol yep good idea! Next time ☺️
