YES!! I'm so thrilled to see this comment. They were quite mean to her and she tried her best to please them. She even gave them thousands of dollars worth of free stuff. It's a real shame they didn't even try to lift her up.
Friendly banter? I don't understand people who don't take their job seriously. We're not in high school. Taking someone's phone when their boss is calling them and taunting them? What is that? No, I would respond the exact same way. Well, to be fair Nate is an idiot. He gets mad because his gf had to work on his birthday? Like... Who does that? Especially when you see that your gf is truly sorry. And she missed a huge opportunity to meet Christian's editor for The Newyorker... to go back to her bf. I would've been mad with my gf for turning such a big opportunity for a birthday, that's dumb. He wants everything on his terms and doesn't allow her to change one bit. She's trying to do good at her job and you know it's only going to be a year, so why can't he suck it up?
Exactly! Agree on every single point! Also, I absolutely HATE the end when Nate says that he got a promotion to be the Head Chef at a famous restaurant in Boston........ so HE gets to move up in his career and get better jobs and work absolutely crazy hours and expects her to be happy for him. But when SHE was taking her career seriously and actually applying herself to her job (for just one year, nothing more - she would be able to jump to any job she wanted after working for Miranda for 1 year), he was a complete asshole and a drag. Whining and complaining the whole way through and hindering her path to success. He's so ANNOYING and such a man child.
Ugly Betty is based on Betty la Fea the Colombian telenovela. They changed the story and created Vanessa Williams character who is similar but it was to appeal to the Anglo market
Fun Fact: The scene with the twins on the train with the copies of the Harry Potter book, the nanny with them is the actual author of the book this film is based on.
Never noticed until now. As many outfits as we saw, they all seemed pretty fall/winter/spring. It gets really hot in NY in summer. No boots or jackets.
It reminded me of Great Expectations with the gradual change of the young girl to mirror the older woman, except in this case she broke free. And Miranda Priestly definitely reminded me of the fashion editor in The House Of Eliot.
I love your charisma. I can for certain see your channel growing fast. I just subscribed! 😊 Do you take movie requests? I love this movie to the point where I play it in the background when I’m doing tasks once in a blue moon 😅. The way her bf and friends didn’t understand her “Hero’s Journey” with her career, was very telling. Making fun of her and then basically turning on her wasn’t cool. Knowing in the beginning what work environment she was in. Cheers!
True. You can also thrift an $80.00 outfit and make it look expensive. I believe it’s subjective even with the cost of an outfit, which doesn’t have much validity with someone’s taste.
Idk if you were referencing the U.S. or British Office. But I love the cold open when Michael Scott started emulating Miranda from the Devil Wears Prada
I think you are THE reactor who is inventive and open for new and great things!!!🤣🥰🥰 REQUESTS (ignore if you’ve seen any): The crying game movie NO SPOILERS NO RESEARCH!!!!! The yellow rolls Royce (Rex Harrison, Shirley MacLaine, Alain delon, art carney, Ingrid Bergman, Omar sharif) To catch a thief (Cary grant, Grace Kelly) After you react to those, please consider these, not in any order: Moonstruck (Cher, Nicholas cage) The family man (Nicholas cage) The fisher king (robin Williams, Jeff bridges) Donovan Quick (Colin firth) Bridget jones diary Glengarry Glen Ross Pride and Prejudice 1995 (Colin firth) Working Girl (Harrison ford, Melanie Griffith, sigourney weaver) Baby Boom (Diane Keaton) Three men and a baby Dr Zhivago (Omar sharif) The far pavilions (Ben cross, Amy Irving, Omar Sharif) Persuasion (1995 ciaran hinds, Amanda root) Indiscreet (Ingrid Bergman, Cary grant) Framed (Timothy Dalton) Hawks (Timothy Dalton) Wuthering heights (Timothy Dalton) Jane eyre (Timothy Dalton)
The real villains of this film are her friends and her boyfriend. No one was supportive, she was only doing this for a year and no one had her back.
Completely agree
100% agree, it is more clear on the book as well, especially on the second part.
Yes! One year. Merely one year, and all the doors are open. And they couldn’t hold out.
YES!! I'm so thrilled to see this comment. They were quite mean to her and she tried her best to please them. She even gave them thousands of dollars worth of free stuff. It's a real shame they didn't even try to lift her up.
She hated the job and quit on her own.

Love how you referenced The Office because Emily (Emily Blunt) is Jim’s wife in real life! 🤩🤓
Not in the original Office he isn’t.
@@cloverite no one cares or talks about the UK Office lmao silly comment
@@shannong014 i loved the original office
There’s already a whole tv series like The Devil Wears Prada. It’s called Ugly Betty
Was about to say the same thing. Love that show. Esp Wilhelmina Slater.. Vanessa Williams is EVERYTHING in that show .

*Cruel Intentions* (1999)
starring *Sarah Michelle Gellar* & *Reese Witherspoon*
I’ll add it to the list :)
@@WillTalksMovies OMG *YES* - the sheer amount of CAMP in that movie (particularly from Sarah Michelle Gellar) is exquisite.
They did make a series about this. It's called ugly Betty
The outfit when she had the "makeover" it's awesome
The Chanel boots 🤩
Not sure if they met during the filming of this or after, but Stanley Tucci is actually married to Emily Blunt’s sister Felicity.
No way that’s kinda crazy!
@@WillTalksMovies I know, right?

Thank you for the support ❤️ and Yes I love recommendations 😊
Closest to this as a tv show would be Ugly Betty lol
That show was hilarious!
Amanda forever 😂
You may not like the outfit but all together I'd say that's probably $10-15k worth of clothing she's got on.

It’s kinda crazy especially viewing from outside that world
I always called this movie "The Devil Reads Provda"
@@LesterManley-s9n love it!
They did make a series. It was called Ugly Betty
That was a knock-off of the original Columbian telenovela.
Meryl as Miranda Priestly >>>

Oooo interesting I’ve seen the office but didn’t know that
You should definitely watch "Cruella" with Emma Stone.
Definitely a great recommendation, always wanted to watch that one

It’s honestly so fascinating, it’s like a different world
Ive seen this movie over a hundred times i could recite it 😂
It’s honestly that good
Nate sucks.
Miranda is a Queen 👑
Have yoyu ever seen The Birdcage ? Great fun with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane, I think you will enjoy it
You have nice hair. More shampoo, less gel.
If this is referring to me thanks but I don’t use any gel 😊
@@WillTalksMovies oh okay. I just thought the bit in front seemed standing on end.
Have you watched Coyote Ugly?
I have not any good?
@@WillTalksMoviesdefinitely a must watch. I don’t think there’s too many reactors out there who have done it.
@@WillTalksMovies It’s a horrible film it’s soooooo bad it’s entertainingly bad to the point of unintentional camp
