What a lovely surprise! Thank you so much Whitney for including my pattern, Four of a Kind, in your shawl round-up. As a not-so-well-known designer, I really appreciate the shout out.
what a wonderful podcast! your passion for knitting, yarn and patterns is great joy to watch! and your intro is absolutely beautiful! And..... you are wearing Jane Austen around your neck! 👍🏻😻 wow! greetings from Austria!
Thanks for the rebea scarf pattern suggestion. I bought it and knit it..a Lovely gift for my Mom who has just undergone throat reconstruction.. love your podcast
I really enjoyed this episode, Thank you! I have to say, I really liked Petit knit....... right up to the moment she charged for the separate Sophie scarf and wrap patterns, most other designers simply added this to the original.
Thank you for making this video, I’ve been looking for patterns for a small shawl and this video is just perfect for me, packed with so much information. Thank you so much.
I loved this - I think the Sophie scarf is completely overrated 🤫 and also never really thought I’d wear a similar little scarflette but actually there are some fantastic options on here that I’ve saved to my queue particularly as stash busters. Thank you for a fantastic video!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video Emily! I also think it's an overrated pattern, which is why I was never drawn to those types of patterns until I made the Riptide135 for a friend. Now I know it wasn't all little scarves in general I wasn't into, it was just the Sophie Scarf 😂
thanks for doing this! Earlier this year I was looking for something 'not the sophie scarf' and I didn't find any of these patterns. There are several in your list that are now in my queue. Thanks again!
What a great roundup! I initially didn't understand the appeal of the Sophie scarf/shawl, but then the idea of a simple, meditative scarf grew on me. But I don't want to support PK. Another pattern that also has the same vibe is the Engrain shawl by Sara Opie, or her Grove shawl.
Thank you for this episode. I live in a very warm climate. I wear, and am always on the lookout, for these types of patterns. I was able to add quite a few from your lust. Thank you, Kim
What a great video, although I do have one problem with it....I have now added 4 more scarves to my queue 🤣🤣🤣 But seriously I love seeing new to me patterns, happy knitting from Sydney Australia 🦘🇦🇺
Hello Whitney, Greetings from Queensland Australia. I have just found your channel and subscribed. Ironically, I am knitting a Sophie Scarf as I am watching you!🤣 Thank you for being an Amazing Beautiful Lady to listen to. Love the patterns you have shared.🧶 Some are going straight onto my To Knit Next List.
Great list. I just want to add the Party Line Scarf by Kaci Apple, and an Italian Spring Shawlette by An Italian Knitter. I also just made Side by Side by Vera Marcu. Thanks for all your work on this. ❤
You're very welcome! Thanks for adding more! I didn't know about the Italian Spring Shawlette or Side by Side. I knew about Kaci's pattern but I don't think it had been released yet when I recorded this video 😄
Nice round up! I’ve made the simple scarf and love wearing it. Also used it to help my SIL who I’m teaching to knit. Hadn’t seen the Riptide scarf. (Just found your podcast.) I really like the look of that. I’m currently knitting The Party Line Scarf by Kaci Apple of @ YoungfolkKnits. It would’ve fit your list perfectly. My next one will actually be crochet. The Scarfie Shawl by Fox&Friends. It’s written to use different yarn weights. Enjoyed this and subscribed!!!
I can honestly say that I have no idea what a Sophie Scarf is and personally prefer blanket scarfs or caplets for the "Warp up" effect of a blanket or cape. On the other hand some of these patterns looks really interesting. I tend to specialize in Garter stitch unless I'm working in the round as well as freehanding everything. I just got done doing a knee length duster over robe in sea shore themed cotton without arms.
So many wonderful ideas, thank you for the work that went into compiling the list! I added a couple to my favourites, bought the Book Club one, and might buy the Butterfly one ❤. I love when lesser known designers are featured on podcasts...I'm sure they would appreciate it so much 😊
When looking for a pattern I can spend days pondering and searching through ravelry and going down many rabbit holes! Thank you thank you for this great video and recommending some fantastic scarves 🧣... I saved this list on my ravelry… Now the most difficult decision, which one to make first. Thanks again for such great recommendations! ❤😊
What a lovely surprise! Thank you so much Whitney for including my pattern, Four of a Kind, in your shawl round-up. As a not-so-well-known designer, I really appreciate the shout out.
I'm so happy to share your pattern Brenda! ❤️
I loved the Four of a Kind scarf
It's on my list to make. It is lovely.

I love finding fellow Canadian knitting podcasters! And I now have a lot of new scarves to knit!! Great episode.
I really enjoyed this episode, Thank you! I have to say, I really liked Petit knit....... right up to the moment she charged for the separate Sophie scarf and wrap patterns, most other designers simply added this to the original.
I've never been a fan of her for a variety of reasons, so I'm happy to share lots of non-PK pattern on my channel 😉
@@knittedbywhitney I'm glad to hear it isn't just me! Keep up the great work👏👏

Love your choices for little scarves
I've been obsessed with little scarfs recently so this is a perfect video for me to have found right now! Thank you :)
My wife and I enjoyed your vlog - thank you
There are so many projects in there that are just dreamy!!!
Glad to have discovered your channel today.

Exactly my thoughts too! Sarah Opie has lots of beautiful shawls 😍
I love my Sophie scarf and wear it as a headband in my hair.

Hahahaha! I'm glad I could help 🤣 I think patterns like these are great to keep in the back of our minds for when we're yarn shopping 😉
Totally agree, some of these would make great bday or Xmas gifts…. I can shop my stash 😜
@@rebeccabono2482 yes! They're great stash busters!
What a fantastic selection. I just added 7 of these to my list of things to knit!
WOW! So many good patterns! Thanks for putting this together!
This is perfect timing! I have a single 50 g skein of bright red fingering weight yarn that I have been hoping is enough to make a little scarf with!
So glad I could help! 😊
Oh my gosh! I came to this video because I loved the idea and then I realized you mentioned my pattern! Thank you so much! ❤❤
You're so welcome MC!!! 😘
Oooh Whitney you’ve made me scarf envy!
Thank you, Whitney! This is a very inspiring array of scarves ❤️
You are lovely. I enjoyed your soothing voice and looking at each of the pattern suggestions.

Wow! What an amazing round up Whitney 🎉 do you have a Ravelry bundle for us the gaze at 😊
The bundle is always linked in the video description as well as a PDF with links to the patterns if there are non-Ravelry buying options 🙂
I think one that really needs more attention as well is Lufuno by Noma from Littlebigknits☺️
Loved it.
The caption!😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣😭😭

I'm so glad you liked the pattern list ☺️ Blanket scarves are so cozy, but I was surprised how much I liked the little scarflet I made for my friend!
So many wonderful ideas, thank you for the work that went into compiling the list! I added a couple to my favourites, bought the Book Club one, and might buy the Butterfly one ❤. I love when lesser known designers are featured on podcasts...I'm sure they would appreciate it so much 😊
