Petzl athlete Emily Harrington sends Golden Gate (5.13 VI) in El Capitan

- On May 31, 2015, Petzl athlete Emily Harrington topped out Yosemite's El Capitan via Golden Gate (5.13b, 41 pitches). The ascent was the culmination of a three-year learning process and one of her biggest challenges to date. "It was a bloody, tear-stained battle, done in the best style possible for me," Emily said of the climb.

The routes that I do, the 5.12 down climb is called the rappel.
That is why they say when the tough gets goin, the goin gets tough. And the results are such that only an individual who has overcome those obstacles can truly feel how it is like.👍👏👍👏👍

To do what you guys do is utterly impossible for majority of us unless we are the chosen one 😅.. literally just by watching the video, my legs was trembling n heart pounding. I'll faint just by climbing 10m of that cliff..

@@mikhailsmirnov9087 в паспорте конкретной верёвки это указано, но после особенно сильных срывов производители рекомендуют не испытывать судьбу и не использовать такую верёвку для нижней страховки.

I will never climb El Capitan because I have a bad arm, I'm deathly afraid of heights, I suffer from panic attacks and I don't see the point. If not for those things, I'm going for it!

Me: do they carry their poop or they just do it like "bombs away!"?
Sooooo. You do have to poop on your way up, right? If its several days, right? That right there would be the show stopper for me, if I were able to do the climb itself. Like never am I going to poop on a bloody stone wall with people around. For the same reason I choose not to be an astronaut, a sniper or a prisoner.
I can't imagine how much courage and perseverance it takes to do such a sport.

Хороший профессиональный уровень. Такой уровень требует постоянной работы над собой. Спасает хорошая веревка, аммортизирующая рывки. Однако крепление веревки на уровне пояса совсем нехорошо. При более сложном полете перевернет и позвоночнику и голове плохо будет.Отмечу правильное крепление веревки без карабина, непосредственно на обвязку - это говорит о профи хорошего уровня. И железа на девочке совсем нет. Похоже, по готовым точкам с оттяжками лезет. Однако высокий уровень лазания, приятно смотреть. Отметил бы несколько несоответствие девочки сложности маршрута. Или играет на публику. Первый должен работать уверенно, с запасом, хорошего первого колом от рельефа не выдернешь.Но идут они это по десятому разу, все пробито и приготовлено и это видно.Никакого риска, точки четко сделанные в нужных местах, срывы ничем не грозят в любом месте.Однако хорошие рекламные съемки.Больше похоже на скалолазание, чем на альпинизм. И видна игра на публику.
