Thank you all so much for watching! Next review is Omori, Live A Live, followed by The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and maybe just maybe you can look forward to more SMT content in the future. ;D Slowly but surely we are getting through my backlog before 2023 when even MORE jrpgs are gonna DROP! And of course please consider supporting me via Patreon: www.patreon.com/PelvicGaming I appreciate you all and have a marvelous week!
I didn't think it would top XBC1, but honestly this game might have my favorite cast of characters in an RPG ever. Is it tropey? Hell yes, (because Xenoblade in general IS tropey) but not all tropes are bad. Most of the tropes I find are in Moebius who are so Saturday Cartoon Villianish I just shake my head, y'all.
This game was a serious breath of fresh air, amidst the constant bickering I’ve been witnessing in reality… and the flute drives that empathetic neutrality even further. It even helped me appreciate Xenoblade 2 even more, why it was so different from the others. Monolith was planning ahead with that one and it really shows here.
Yooo, I was really unsure if I was interested enough to pick this up. Like you, I adore XC1 and feel robbed by XC2. You're reviews are always very thought out, clearly explained, and rational. I think I'll give this a try when I don't have anything else going on. Thank you for your hard work!
@@PelvicGaming I finally did it! ...and I spent 200 hours doing it, haha! (It turns out I love Lanz >.>) I think I'll make it a new custom to visit Lady Pelvic reviews before and after playing a new game. You make such high quality reviews and share your thoughts in an open and honest way, it's a rare gift and I thank you so much for it. Re-watching this after beating the base game, it's still an amazing editorial.
I haven't finished XC3 yet, but I'm at the beginning of chapter 7 with over 100 hours and I am definitely loving it! It hasn't quite reached the heights of XC2 for me, but it's probably my second favorite thus far. Most of my gripes are similar to yours, it took me a pretty long time to get attached to the characters, I think it's largely because the tone starts so bleak, and the signature Xeno playfulness takes longer to kick in than in previous games. The gameplay is fantastic, though. I love the class systems and the new Chain Attack set-up (and having the CAs separate from character revival is a wonderful change) and I love the in-battle dash move by clicking the right stick. Still, minor quibbles aside, XC3 is fantastic, I love the whole trilogy. Monolith is basically spoiling us at this point, and I love it
If you are experiencing constant overheating while docked, there are a few things you can try: 1. Take off the back cover on the dock. It restricts airflow more than you know. 2. Make sure there is space behind the switch dock and avoid pushing it against a wall. 3. If your switch is old, you should open it up and clean out the dust and replace the thermal paste. Most electronics repair shops will do this for pretty cheap, since it it really easy to do, or you could do it yourself for 5-15 USD for tools and thermal paste. The switch is very easy to take apart. There is always some variability between processors due to manufacturing constrains, so some people get slightly more powerful processors that create more heat, while others will get less powerful processors that cause frame rate drops.
Great review! I haven't been sure if I wanted to play this game after seeing the trailers alone but now I'm sure I'll like it based on your descriptions of the cast and the combat system.
Xenoblade is my favorite series and I totally agree with your ranking. Definitive Edition is still the best, but Xenoblade 3 is amazing, and is the second best Xenoblade game.
Your review taught me something I never once knew: *The switch displays an overheating error* No joke, RPGs are practically my lifeblood and I have nothing but free time (Im working on trying to work but luck isnt kind to me) so I often put in a lot of hours each day docked and not ONCE have I ever seen the overheating error. I've heard the vent fan blasting from time to time, but never the error itself. Maybe its a switch OLED thing, I got mine a year after launch so still an earlyish model
Great review Ms. Pelvic even though it said 16 mins it felt like 5 just goes to show you are very good at what you do. I don't comment often but I always look forward to whatever you put out. Keep up the great work and grind hard.
at first i wasnt sure about healers not being able to go over 99% but the tactics behind it, then adding ourbuos into the mix it really kept my attention and nice challenge to combat
Same here, but I quickly realized that the idea is to use healers to get to 99 and then either use a defender to get your biggest TP value back or use someone high in TP value so you get more characters back. Not to mention that for Ouroboros orders, they’re great for getting last minute healing or buffs/debuffs in.
TY for being the reviewer that got me to pull the trigger on playing this series! Love the games! Love the music! Love your authenticity! Keep doing your thing! =D
as a huge sci-fi fan this game had me hook since the first cut scene and i really felt like it might be on my top 10 but then we got to x,y and z and the game took a nose dive most of the game was really good its just by the end that al the hype goes down
The game was absolute horseshit in chp 6 and 7. The entire game went from 9 to 8-7 just because how superficial and basic this potentially great story turned out to be. My disappointment of the year.and my least favourite in the trlogy vy far
Yeah I'm not surprised that it's your 2nd favorite Xeno game, most who've played it seem to love it! Personally, Xenoblade 3 is my favorite in the series since I think the gameplay and writing is noticeably better than in the other games. Especially the character writing Also, I'm surprised by how many people are disappointed with Moebius. If there were only a couple of Moebius, they would not feel like as much of a threat since their influence would not extend to many colonies across every region And the few important Moebius are pretty well written
without spoilers, the ending to chapter 5 and opening to chapter 6 was some of the best executed storytelling not just in Xeno games, but in videogames in general. But I still liked the pacing to the story and the plot twists in XC1 more and felt the combat was way more challenging as interlinking and chain attacks made the combat way too easy through most of this game. But I still luv XC3, just not as much as XC1. 2022 GOTY XC3? For me it is.
Excellent honest review as always pelvic, nicely done. I agree with most of your points here especially in regards to the flute music. Overdone indeed especially the sad theme that played over and over and over but still a solid game overall no doubt. Keep up the great content!
Great review Pelvic, I really enjoyed this one, I have to say its my favorite in the series not counting Gears because that's a whole other story. And I have to agree about the tutorials it feels like every game now have too many. You mid-jumop and they telling you how to jump.
XC1 is my personal fave JRPG of all time, so XC3 is also my second fave XC game as the first game is a tall order to surpass. Luved the Chain Attack in this game, but made the combat too easy in this game IMHO, might even be my favorite game of 2022, but still not as good as XC1
You know I really wrote off this series because the combat just didn't seem like I would like it but actually, I like your perspective on it being a single player mmorpg, I was coming at this series with a semi turnbased final fantasy style jrpg and that's why Ididn't like it? But now I really want to give it an honest shot because of your video!
Awww shucks. Thank you so much! I assure you its a lot of fun and xb1 has one of the best stories in all of gaming! Thank you for watching and I hope you have a better experience with your new mind set!
First accurate review of the game so far. Most reviewers played the game in a rush and made false statements about some gameplay mechanics. I saw one who missed the "highlight path" feature, and gave the game a worst review for "lack of quality of life features"...
10:06 My favorite dual guns guy has to be Dante of Devil May Cry. That guy is UNDENIABLY COOL. You know it even if you never played a DMC game. His combat form is stylish, his fashion is stylish, and he's calm in situations involving demons.
Wow, this review is actually great. I looked two or three more but they were just fanboys, talking about how the game was the best thing ever. This video is so much more realistic.
Wait the switch console has an overheat screen? Damn i've never seen that before, not even when i'd played Monster Hunter Rise for hours straight. Wonder if some games are better optimised for that kinda thing or not. Great review, even if kinda sad Sena, the girl I was most interested in seem to get the least narrative weight according to this. Hope the girl with the gall gets more in the season pass.
Just finished playing this. I definitely agree with most of what you said here. XC1 was Amazing, XC2 was meh, XCX had good exploration (Though I probably enjoyed it more than you did). XC3 is definitely the 2nd best Xenoblade game. Now I wanna go and re-play XC1 again. That game is just damn near perfect.
Against the overheating: open the back off the dock (I have it laying down in sleep mode but it has to be standing up for that), also make sure there is enough room around the console, better even in addition to that let a fan hit the side of the console 💟🌌
Ok great. But still, chronic excessive heat will destroy your new one too. Sadly the Switch in docked mode is prone to that, so a little extra care can only help@@PelvicGaming
I'm currently at over 150 hours into this game, and while I've been mostly enjoying my experience, I feel the hero quests severely hamper my enjoyment. If all of the jobs had just been available from the start and not required completing special quests to unlock the level caps, then that easily would have made the last act not feel so intimidating for me.
The problem here though with having ascension quests unlocked from the start is that a lot of the ascension quests rely on the plot that comes from the other side quests before it- especially with cases like Zeon, Juniper, and Fiona.
Favourite game of the series.. while I prefer the ending of the first/second I thought this game was much better overall.. character development was amazing for all.
It's funny how no one talks about the Breath of the Wild inspiration in this game ? The fact that side quests are optional but full of world building elements and help you toward your ultimate goal, the fact that if you make all the quest you have way less mid boss in the final dungeon, etc.
There was a lot of things that I liked about XC3 but if im being honest i did'nt have as much fun as everybody else and I also realized that playing 3, made me appreciate XC2 because I had mixed feeling about the 2nd game. I also feel the same, I did not care for Mobius whatsoever and my biggst gripe was the world itself, did'nt enjoy the exploration as much when going from 1 area to another
Great review. So far this is my favourite game that I played this year. This is my favourite combat in the series & I like the casts a lot too with Lanz being my favourite. ^_^
As an X simp I will forever adore that game for it's unique OST My current ranking for the Xenoblade games are: 1. XC 2 (My most replayed JRPG) 2. XC X (Still regret putting away my Wii U) 3. XC 3 (Still haven't beaten all the superbosses) 4. XC 1 (blasphemous I know but with so many side quest it feels a little much to take on) Alright lads, time for my crucifixion
HOW DARE YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION. Nah~ What's crazy is xb2 is your most played jrpg like whoa. But yeah our lists are almost opposite. Idk if I don't care for 2 or x more.
The game looks great and the story concept sounds compelling. On the other hand I dread the hours tutorials for the overly involved menu and upgrade systems. I already know the endless repetition of the same character lines during exploration and combat is going to wear on me, and I'm expecting there are a lot of mindnumbingly boring "get 20 of that thing" and "kill 30 of that thing" kind of sidequests. I go back and forth about wanting to play it or not.
Ok the quests are actually amazing. Not fetch questy at all. They mitigate that with collectopedia cards. There is a lot of back and forth tho. Thankfully fast travel spots are petty on point
@@PelvicGaming not to mention that for whatever fetch quests you do have, they actually have markers on it if it’s a collectible you need. Thank you!!!!
@@kingplaya6558 I mean, I finished Xenoblade 3 in 128 hours (all side quest finished and some grind for the class). You clearly rushed the game and did nearly zero side quest and skip some cutscenes. The game have more than 19 hours of cutscene lol.
I'll try this someday but probably not for quite a while. First I much prefer the turn-based combat of the pre-Blades Xeno games. Second the story and setting look very dark, and the way things are going IRL that's not what I am in the mood for.
Nah it's out in the open. I think I just got an old day 1 Switch and it's time for an OLED. Also so funny how many people have never seen the Overheating screen.
Excellent review as always. I was concerned that the characters were going to be stereotypical and juvenile from their art style, so I'm really surprised that you felt they were as mature as you said. That's interesting, and might make me pick this up. I've played a LOT of Xeno over the years, and I'm always looking for something like it. The world being derived from other Xeno games is a bit of a letdown though. I could have stayed in the world of Mira in Xenoblade X forever. We really need to have a spoiler talk though, maybe on your Twitch. I need to talk to someone about that picture of Rex. You know the one. This warrants conversation at the very least. It made the twist ending of Oldboy look like a Hallmark movie. Just... wow. Keep up the good work! You're clearly putting in some SERIOUS time on these games. Let no one challenge your gaming credentials! You really are as professional as you portray to your fans, the realest reviewer in the business!!!
A lot of people have probably said this already but seriously, you should play Torna. That was the best part of Xenoblade 2. That was the main reason for playing Xenoblade 2.
Torna was just OK. They dumbed down the beautiful combat into automatic break and topple on switch. just OK story and forced sidequests by the end...yeah it was basically the worst part of Xc2 :D
@@Arda-dq4rt The combat in Torna was the way it was supposed to be in Xenoblade 2. They left it like that because they were too ambitious and they didn't have time to finish it. Did you never notice how weird was that all those cool looking blades never actually fought? They did it in the cinematics but never in actual gameplay, just one attack every two years of combat or something along those lines. Most people think that the combat in Torna was superior. In fact, the combat in Xenoblade 2 was deep but not in a good way. It actually limited player options and playing bad didn't usually mean you would lose, it meant you woult take a lot of time to defeat an enemy. It was a mess. I am glad you liked it, don't get me wrong, I know that the most fanatic players of that game think it was an amazing combat system. But most of us don't think it was. And I could talk and talk for hours about how poor and childish the story and characters were in general (I hate Rex SO MUCH) but I won't. Because you like it. So whatever I say, it shouldn't matter to you. For most of us, Torna was the real thing. In Torna they had the time and the focus to make the game right. If all Xenoblae 2 was like Torna, it wouldn't be remembered like the "horny xenoblade game". And I repeat: I liked Xenoblade 2. I really liked it. But it was so flawed...
@@Alfonso88279 Xc2 torna had such a casualized and off putting battle system that it instantly made me say 'Oh, so this is a dumbed down and simplified version of XC2...Why?' I still finished the DLC and enjoyed it for what it is. 1- You no longer do blade combos by strategically pressing arts but on switching blades? WHAT! Since we cant have variety of blades, I'm switching from the same blades to another blade to finish the combo...Where is the depth and fun in that? 2- We only have access to the same blades. Where is the fun of finding VARIETY of blades and creating your own unique combos? That is already such a dumbed down and simplified aspect of Torna that instantly turns me off. 3- The final issue is with Elemental orb combos. Rather than following and finishing an elemental chain to add an orb, you only do 1 special and instantly add it as an orb...Jesus can you please NOT strip away the joy of XC2 battle to even more barren and boring components :( After all this, saying Torna is how the battle system of XC2 should have been is something I disagree 100% with passion. I like Torna as a DLC. I can see a lot of care was put into it. But thats it. It cant hold a candle to XC2. Not even in the same ballpark. I dont understand these people who consider Torna to be better than XC2 actually mastered or sufficiently understood XC2's combat. If you REALLY get XC2's combat, it becomes so enjoyable and deep you wouldnt make a comment like that. Torna is easier to understand, sure. But is it more fun? Well, maybe to players who struggled understanding XC2 combat even in late game. Not for people who mastered XC2 combat. You can skip Torna. But if you skip XC2, you are literally missing out on one of the most lore-wise meaty main-line Xenoblade experience. (up there with XC1)
@@Arda-dq4rt part of that is that Torna actually has a competent tutorial system while the actual 2’s tutorial is like “explain stuff- what’s that mean?”
@@Mojo1356 Having 'competent tutorial' is beside the point. I'm talking about ACTUAL depth joy and intricacy of the combat. I personally had VERY little issues understanding XC2 combat. It clicked with me quite fast. I do grant it is complex but people saying 'I spent 70 hours and I still didnt know what I was doing in late game'....Dude this is not rocket science.
I keep trying to get into this series and think 3 is the best game because of the toned down young adult anime tropes (except the villains, they're pure cringe) and improved combat. But I still don't like the MMO style approach to the combat and overly large, bland environments. Traversal feels weird in these games -- it has more in common with WoW than other single player RPGs. I really just want another Xeno game like gears. It was more mature, had better combat, towns, dialogue, characters, and story, and it wasn't bloated with excess content. I also don't like how the blade games put little teen anime girls in skimpy costumes. I don't get off on cartoons - you can stop that.
You gave the best and most detailed explanation about the combat out of every review video I’ve seen for this game!! Thank you, why are so many content creators so clueless smh
@@PelvicGaming it’s the truth! I learned so much from this, compared to the same repeated dialogue I saw in other videos - didn’t know the game had a positioning icon, or fully understand the UI, along with the chain attacks. You visually explained it and went in depth, while other channels just read off a script and didn’t cover what you did. I genuinely have to thank you! Was putting off on buying the game because I’ve been so busy, plus I was waiting to buy it second hand. Really appreciate you, I’m not even kidding
@@TrvisXXIII DAMN MAN, you just made my night. My week. Thank you so much. This really makes adding those extra animated edits zooming in, and blurbs popping up on screen to show what I'm talkin' about worth it. Seriously thank you. I'm so happy that you have a better understanding of the game and the kind words!!!
@@PelvicGaming ahhh man, the appreciation makes me happy 😊 I can empathize with how time consuming it must be as a content creator, but your hard work is definitely worth it!! People notice, and the ones who truly care will express it - you are a gem on TH-cam, and I love the games that you cover 🔥🔥 I’ll definitely reference back to this video once I pick up XBC3, there was a ton of other fine details you mentioned that were important to know and will save me time on tutorials 😅 keep up the great work, and I’m looking forward to the hype season of new JRPGs you’ll cover!!
I want to play this so badly the second was good but the leveling grinding was a pain because I got stuck because I didn’t level enough next time I play 2 I will get my friend to help me through it.
So XBC is still your favorite? My girl... this is why you're still best girl. Part 1 is still the best all-around game. Great video as always PG!! PS: Yes! That city music totally made me think of Nier Automata the first time too.
lack of auto attacking during movement was actually a nice element of the combat flow I found! forced me to really line up my movement with stutter-stepping to maximize my auto attacks if I needed to adjust movement and working out how to optimise movement around auto-attacks was an extra layer of skill ceiling to reach towards that I really appreciated. love your reviews as always!
this is my least favourite xenoblade game. Ngl i felt the story is weak or something was missing (probably dlc content) I guess maybe because the villains weren’t written well in my opinion. Mobeous started out strong but every time i ran into them it just declined. Still a good game and i really enjoy the simplicity of chain attacks. I never bothered too much with interlinks if anything interlinks made it far too easy getting damage exp. especially when u combine that with bonus exp. i was super OP for most of this. I agree about the auto attack whilst moving because my joy con is drifting and that would have solved alot of combat issues i had 😂 Colonies/hero’s were pretty basic and didn’t make me want to stick around long enough to care.
You're the first person I've seen/heard have an overheating issue with this game.. assuming you're keeping it in a ventilated space, you'll likely have to get your Switch repaired or replaced, because something's definitely off with the cooling
2 was a letdown, but it at least did make for one of your funniest videos to date. I still always think, "I'm a legendary blaaaaaaaade" from time to time.
I did not like 2 when it originally came out, but earlier this year I gave it another look. Man I don’t know what happened but xenoblade 2 is easily one of my favorite games of all time now. Something clicked when replaying it.
3 being more in line with 1 in terms of tone was so nice. A lot of the early parts of xb2 just didn’t land for me at times, but 3 had me hooked right away I loved it
I appreciate your cometary And your video pelvic Gaming And this cute Reminds me of Final Fantasy That did make me laugh 😂And it does remind me kingdom hearts
If you don’t use the bonus EXP at camp sites you should be okay. But I had a ton of fun playing on hard mode from the start. You can change difficulty at any time though
I would mostly just avoid bonus xp, get way more class points for being at or below the enemy level. Each difficulty option equates to enemies with 50 percent more health, and they deal 25% more damage.
You can if you want. Or you can just not use bonus exp whenever you can. While I think the game makes you do it once for the tutorial’s sake, you never again have to use it if you don’t want to.
One thing I do like which isn’t exactly related to this but slightly linked is how Sena and Lanz’s relationship felt almost completely platonic and I really liked that, it felt refreshing seeing a guy and a girl just being close best friends and that’s all
Honestly, I didn't really like Xenoblade 3. I tried Xenoblade 1 and I tried Torna: The Golden Country. I couldn't get into either. Honestly, this series does nothing for me. Good review, though.
Xenoblade 3 It was my first xenoblade. I was very hesitant to try it because it seemed very complicated but I started it and I couldn't stop. 120 hours later I finished the main story and fell in love. So I decided to give 2 a chance. Very disappointed so far. I miss the magic and, I didn't think to say this, the least complicated of the 3. I will continue to play, maybe It will get better, but the 3 has left the level very high.
Wild I thought xb2 was waaaaaaaay more complicated than 3. But I haven't played 2 in a hot minute sooo. I'm not a fan of 2 personally, but xb1, that is my JAM.
Xc2 has like a 20hr tutorial pretty much once u get over that hurdle. The game really opens up and u have alot more freedom to really pimp out your blades. Also the rare blades have there own stories which is a nice touch. But the gacha system for the blades is not its strong point. Also xc2 has a great dlc.
Saga's story is overly ambitious for what it tried to achieve but it’s considered the pinnacle of writing and really goes beyond its respective medium to deliver a very multifaceted and deep thought-provoking story and still stands the test of time today until Legend of heroes trails series replaced it in my opinion. But Saga has very complicated and deep philosophical and religious thematic elements with complicated plot developments and an amazingly satisfying ending and payoff. In terms of cinematic visual storytelling and presentation, it’s one of the best experiences of narrative immersion I have ever seen in a rpg game. Although nothing is perfect like the gameplay can be improved in some respects, but as a bold very ambitious project put together by a small team during the early 2000's, its exceptionally a work of art and i am VERY curious to see what you think about these games.
@atariDC_ have you played them? Professional journalist and other authors of literature have noted Xenogears and Saga for being so deep that it that it inspired many artists and creators alike. In other words, most rpgs in those days were developed for kids or teenagers and tend to have more simplified stories which is why at first Xenogears was a proposal for the Final Fantasy VII project which aimed to make FF boldly expand its scope and sophistication of story telling but ended up being scrapped because it was a bit to complicated for the young’uns to understand and instead became its own project that spear headed the Xeno series. Takahashi really wanted something alot more ambitious and more intelligent and this was his dream. When you look back at Xenogears and Xenosaga, they really were far ahead of what most contemporary jrpg projects presented in the medium at that time.
To be honest I was disappointed with xc3 story towards the end. I just don't like the direction monolith soft is going. The whole reviving mechanic were only healers revive is bad. A Boss like one shot the party. I never seen a final boss have like a million phases. Ever since xc2 the series have gone down hill. I see if the dlc will be better, if not I'm done buying games from monolith soft. On a positive note I think xc2 had a better final boss than xc3.
Personally, I find the story of the game is mediocre, the combat is better than XBC1, but slightly less fun that 2. Where the game excels the most is in my opinion in character moments. There were so many great emotional moments and interactions between the characters in the main party, although the villains were really boring. I find the environments are really cool, with a lot of throwbacks to previous games, and a lot of interesting, new locations, as well as lots of variery and stunning visuals. Unfortunately, the HUD is absolutely terrible, taking up way too much space on screen, often distracting from the gorgeous visuals. Similarily, the controls are absolutely atrocious, being very unintuitive, and often very slow to register what you press, and sometimes completely ignore your inputs. I will frequently find myself unable to change characters despite the UI showing me I am supposed to be able to, Ouroborous don't activate when I press to activate them, fusion arts don't register, making my character use a single art rather than a fusion art, and much more. I find it really annoying that there is a button to start auto- running, but there is no button to turn off auto running, often causing my character to run of cliffs when I accidentally turned on auto- running and am desparately trying to make them not run off the tiny platform I am on. I personally played on hard, and have found that it is really hard to beat unique monsters and story bosses, even when slightly overleveled, but fairly easy to beat most normal enemies as long as they don't come in groups and have AOE moves that stun/ instakill your party. Overall a great experience, but with some serious annoyances that make me unable to call it a masterpiece.
Almost all of my complaints about 3 are the same as 2 and 1 remaster.... The switch being so very underpowered. I cant wait for the day where we can play all 3 of these games at a HIGH resolution and 60 fps. Imagine how glorious it will be. I get tired of looking at vaseline, and being a pc gamer who actually cares about the quality of my games (console fans tend to just accept anything they are given no matter how bad) so im very much anticipating that day to come.
I would never play it after that review. You spam too many info about combat, is it review or tutorial? And seriously, can you talk faster? For those who feel the same XC3 is an amazing game with a beautiful story, full of emotions, satisfying (sometimes complex) combat, tone of side activities and just amazing music. You should check it! I spent 150h and I still want to play. I still prefer XC2 which is a masterpiece, but 3 surpasses it in some aspects.
Yo, you are entitled to your opinion of my review sure. But a review explains the combat mechanics. And YT has a speed up option so use that. But also there is a LOT of information that I'm trying to explain clearly. It's not all about you. Several people have told me they are GRATEFUL that I explained the mechanics in depth and have a better understanding of the game. What's wild is we have similar opinions but you come at me sideways, being rude as hell outta nowhere. Anyways, thanks for watching and the engagement.
Glad to see they're moving away from the cringy, oversexualised artstyle of Xenoblade 2. That game kinda scared me off from the franchise but this one looks much better.
Wow such a horribly paced and superficial review of XC3. Just like the game itself. You didnt talk about the most enjoyable point in the game - Chp 5 ending. Or the horrendous chp 6 and 7 where the game takes a nosedive and turns into the most cliche and basic JRPG story in recent memory. It boggles my mind how you guys liked this hot pile of garbage more than XC2
1. Its a review. Not an analysis. Also maybe I didnt want people to expect chapter 5 to be great. I want them to be hit by chapter five like EVERYONE else. The pacing wasn't TERRIBLE could use some work but didn't bother me like it did you apparently. You sound incredibly bitter that people like this more than xb2. If you think xb2 is the best then good for you! This review isn't taking that away. Stay mad while people enjoy what they wanna enjoy. :)
@@PelvicGaming Xc1 is my favourite game of all time. Xc2 is not that far behind. Xc3 dropped the ball for me in my 140 hour hard playthrough. Im not bitter per se but Im angry at how much of a disappointment XC3 turned out to be in terms of lore, story, plot twists, villians and characters. Hero quests are not gonna carry a trilogy finale. The game got legit linear in corridor-like locations after Kevesi section. The entire final 2 chapters were a rushed mess. A weak sauce spin off Xenoblade game is all XC3 can be with such a short and basic plot as well. It had so much potential, but threw it all away and utilized a tiny bit of what was possible. Thats what is so disappointing
@@Arda-dq4rt first of all, you might as well be bitter if you’re disappointed. Second, while I admit that this isn’t as open world as 1 and 2, it’s still very open world with plenty to explore. That said, while I have to give a hard disagree to everyone saying this game is linear, I won’t argue with those that say the open world feel of it is a step down from 1 and 2. Heck, I’d even understand if 3 not being nearly as open as 1 and 2 is a dealbreaker because the openess difference isn’t a marginal one either. Yes- you have places like the Cadensia region which is one of the most open areas in all of Xenoblade since it has all those Islands you can explore, but then you have places like upper Aetia which leaves little room for exploration. I draw the line at calling it linear though.
@@Mojo1356 xc3 is basically a linear story experience starting from Kevesi castle region. (Excluding the ocean part). Everywhere else is corridor ish linear and small location. Snow area is absolute garbage in chp 6. Dude where is the open ended locations we explored in chp 3? Do you remember the very cool looking yellow ish area RIGHT IN FRONT of where humans lived? That place was 100 m long. Why wasnt it a huge location? Such a disappointment. I do grant they tried something new with the ocean thing. I did liked it to a degree but I'd have preferred some ACTUAL big landscapes to explore. Like in XC1 and XCX. Hell even XC2 had some bigger maps. Im shocked how badly designed XC3 overworld was.
Ohh looking forward to the Omori review.
Thank you so much!! It really means a lot. Especially with Xeno games cause there is SO MUCH to cover!
XC2 is WAAAYY better than this excuse of a trilogy ending.
Monolith is basically spoiling us at this point, and I love it
If you are experiencing constant overheating while docked, there are a few things you can try:
It also depends on the heat in your room. I only play handheld mode on hot days
Your review taught me something I never once knew: *The switch displays an overheating error*
No joke, RPGs are practically my lifeblood and I have nothing but free time (Im working on trying to work but luck isnt kind to me) so I often put in a lot of hours each day docked and not ONCE have I ever seen the overheating error. I've heard the vent fan blasting from time to time, but never the error itself.
Maybe its a switch OLED thing, I got mine a year after launch so still an earlyish model
Same here. I've never had the overheating error ever and I play exclusively docked.
I had a similar thought process like meh healers are useless in C.A nah...nah man. They help get that precision!
I love Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I'm still playing it. Around 90 hour mark right now.
This has a good chance of being my GOTY.
Love how you explained combat with visual cues
Thank you!! Im glad they helped someone out!
as a huge sci-fi fan this game had me hook since the first cut scene and i really felt like it might be on my top 10 but then we got to x,y and z and the game took a nose dive most of the game was really good its just by the end that al the hype goes down
The game was absolute horseshit in chp 6 and 7.
Especially the character writing
Also, I'm surprised by how many people are disappointed with Moebius. If there were only a couple of Moebius, they would not feel like as much of a threat since their influence would not extend to many colonies across every region
And the few important Moebius are pretty well written
Should have just kept the well written Mobius and deleted the rest for being pointless.
Agreed 100%
without spoilers, the ending to chapter 5 and opening to chapter 6 was some of the best executed storytelling not just in Xeno games, but in videogames in general. But I still liked the pacing to the story and the plot twists in XC1 more and felt the combat was way more challenging as interlinking and chain attacks made the combat way too easy through most of this game. But I still luv XC3, just not as much as XC1. 2022 GOTY XC3? For me it is.
agree with your thoughts on Moebius 100%
Xc3 is a train wreck when it comes to story. Easily my least favourite. What the hell are you talking about
Excellent honest review as always pelvic, nicely done. I agree with most of your points here especially in regards to the flute music. Overdone indeed especially the sad theme that played over and over and over but still a solid game overall no doubt. Keep up the great content!
I just ordered this today and can't wait to play this one finally.
Exactly "The City" theme for me is a Nier Automata theme too! hehe
I couldn't imagine not mentioning the highlight path. I used that feature like nobodies business. haha.
Thank you for the kind words.
Always a fun well-paced review!! Just started playing, having fun so far!
Thank you! And I'm glad you're enjoying it!!
I was wondering (and waiting) when you were going to review XC3 ❤️
Against the overheating: open the back off the dock (I have it laying down in sleep mode but it has to be standing up for that), also make sure there is enough room around the console, better even in addition to that let a fan hit the side of the console 💟🌌
Thank you, but I got a new Switch!
Ok great. But still, chronic excessive heat will destroy your new one too. Sadly the Switch in docked mode is prone to that, so a little extra care can only help@@PelvicGaming
Thank you for this review. It's very helpful.
Appreciate the review and insight into this game! Just curious, new to the channel, but why is the channel called pelvic gaming?
Favourite game of the series.. while I prefer the ending of the first/second I thought this game was much better overall.. character development was amazing for all.
Oh it absolutely took the best of xb1 and 2. I'll give it that!
You sold me this game. 40 hours in and love it. I really like the underlying message in the story. It is is depressing but also beautiful.
Thank you for this interesting and knowledgeable review! It really stands out amongst other reviews. Subbed also.
It's funny how no one talks about the Breath of the Wild inspiration in this game ? The fact that side quests are optional but full of world building elements and help you toward your ultimate goal, the fact that if you make all the quest you have way less mid boss in the final dungeon, etc.
Xenoblade 1 did this before on the wii
@@Solotiempodeosio it did ? How ?
Just finished this game and loved it despite the narrative peaking half way through, leaving the rest to be somewhat underwhelming. Good review btw
Ayyy Lanz is my favorite too!!
It reminds me of really good chicken soup
As an X simp I will forever adore that game for it's unique OST
My current ranking for the Xenoblade games are:
1. XC 2 (My most replayed JRPG)
2. XC X (Still regret putting away my Wii U)
3. XC 3 (Still haven't beaten all the superbosses)
4. XC 1 (blasphemous I know but with so many side quest it feels a little much to take on)
Alright lads, time for my crucifixion
I still need to play this. Been busy with another rpg series, which shall remain nameless.
to give Xenoblade X a little more credit... the sidequests were a little more interesting than the actual main plot :P
X had the best combat, exploration, and side quests. Worst main story, though.
How did you finish this already? I am still working on Xenoblade Chronicles 1... on the Wii.
Why Wii?
Xeno 1 is longer than this. I finished this in about 40 hours while XC1 took me around 70
Help I can't find the dlc on the Wii shop channel for Xenoblade chronicles
@@kingplaya6558 I mean, I finished Xenoblade 3 in 128 hours (all side quest finished and some grind for the class). You clearly rushed the game and did nearly zero side quest and skip some cutscenes. The game have more than 19 hours of cutscene lol.
@@Terranigma23 I'm obviously taking out side content and accounting for story only, that should go without saying..
I'll try this someday but probably not for quite a while. First I much prefer the turn-based combat of the pre-Blades Xeno games. Second the story and setting look very dark, and the way things are going IRL that's not what I am in the mood for.
This is a genuinely superb analysis. You speak well and to the point. amazing content !
14:51 I've never seen the overheating screen on the Switch before. Maybe it's the dock's location?
Yeaaah ! I was waiting for your review !
Rather than following and finishing an elemental chain to add an orb, you only do 1 special and instantly add it as an orb...Jesus can you please NOT strip away the joy of XC2 battle to even more barren and boring components :(
After all this, saying Torna is how the battle system of XC2 should have been is something I disagree 100% with passion.
I also thought that the City music was very reminiscent of NieR
Great minds~
You gave the best and most detailed explanation about the combat out of every review video I’ve seen for this game!! Thank you, why are so many content creators so clueless smh
WHOA. THAT IS A HUGE COMPLIMENT. THANK YOU. O_o
People notice, and the ones who truly care will express it - you are a gem on TH-cam, and I love the games that you cover 🔥🔥
I’ll definitely reference back to this video once I pick up XBC3, there was a ton of other fine details you mentioned that were important to know and will save me time on tutorials 😅 keep up the great work, and I’m looking forward to the hype season of new JRPGs you’ll cover!!
My work collegues acting coach voiced Sena.
I want to play this so badly the second was good but the leveling grinding was a pain because I got stuck because I didn’t level enough next time I play 2 I will get my friend to help me through it.
I have yet to get my hands on a switch. The game looks great though. I had a blast with Xenoblade 1
So XBC is still your favorite? My girl... this is why you're still best girl. Part 1 is still the best all-around game. Great video as always PG!!
PS: Yes! That city music totally made me think of Nier Automata the first time too.
Great review!
lack of auto attacking during movement was actually a nice element of the combat flow I found! forced me to really line up my movement with stutter-stepping to maximize my auto attacks if I needed to adjust movement and working out how to optimise movement around auto-attacks was an extra layer of skill ceiling to reach towards that I really appreciated.
love your reviews as always!
Stutter stepping is useless in Xenoblade 3
@@golfer435 more like it doesn’t exist in 3.

Get a switch, its a great console.
@@Zaurthur got 1 already
It will never comes out on PC. It's a huge Nintendo Exclusivity.
this is my least favourite xenoblade game. I agree about the auto attack whilst moving because my joy con is drifting and that would have solved alot of combat issues i had 😂
Colonies/hero’s were pretty basic and didn’t make me want to stick around long enough to care.
You're the first person I've seen/heard have an overheating issue with this game.. assuming you're keeping it in a ventilated space, you'll likely have to get your Switch repaired or replaced, because something's definitely off with the cooling
Yeah it's a me thing. My day 1 switch is just old.
I like the battle system.
Same as you Arrow🤣
3 being more in line with 1 in terms of tone was so nice. A lot of the early parts of xb2 just didn’t land for me at times, but 3 had me hooked right away I loved it
2 was the best, people tend to just not like the lean into anime tropes, but ignore that the themes and story are even deeper than 1
Are you enjoying Future Redeemed?
Wonderful review.. thank you so much 🙂👍
Lady Pelvic, you’re a lifesaver.
I appreciate your cometary And your video pelvic Gaming And this cute Reminds me of Final Fantasy That did make me laugh 😂And it does remind me kingdom hearts
It was the opposite for me I loved 2 but didn't care for 1. XC2's story was nowhere near as good as the first but the gameplay made up for it for me.
Since it's so easy to overlevel, would it be better to start on a harder difficulty than normal to get a decent challenge throughout the entire game?
If you don’t use the bonus EXP at camp sites you should be okay. But I had a ton of fun playing on hard mode from the start. You can change difficulty at any time though
I would mostly just avoid bonus xp, get way more class points for being at or below the enemy level. Each difficulty option equates to enemies with 50 percent more health, and they deal 25% more damage.
You can if you want. Or you can just not use bonus exp whenever you can. While I think the game makes you do it once for the tutorial’s sake, you never again have to use it if you don’t want to.
I want to play this! But I'm sooooo behind on my Switch RPGs...
Speaking of overheating... I'm worried about Tears of the Kingdom and my OG switch. 👀
It felt to me like they were gonna go an LGBT route with Sena but didnt fully.
One thing I do like which isn’t exactly related to this but slightly linked is how Sena and Lanz’s relationship felt almost completely platonic and I really liked that, it felt refreshing seeing a guy and a girl just being close best friends and that’s all
Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Chrono Cross, and FF7 OG. 😃
Keep up the great work!
omg this is a first for me. Thank you!!!
I'd fight 10 Lions for Pelvic
Honestly, I didn't really like Xenoblade 3. I tried Xenoblade 1 and I tried Torna: The Golden Country. I couldn't get into either. Honestly, this series does nothing for me. Good review, though.
Torna is really good though!
poor sena..... I'll always main you 🥰
She is all yours!
Awesomeness!
Nah

@@PelvicGaming I had a blast
I got muscles and money.
The biggest problem I have with XC2 was its gameplay, leveling system, and environments.
Slow to process? You’re switch is having issues if that’s the case. I’ve been perfectly fine.
This review feels a little bare bones compared to your usual fare.
Im salty about that expansion pass. This wave system ain’t it especially when it comes to rpgs.
so many people in games media don't recognize the continuity between old Xeno games and the new XenoBladeChrons. -towtansua
This is a series I don't think I will ever understand the appeal of.
It’s aimed at women and weebs
Almost all of my complaints about 3 are the same as 2 and 1 remaster.... The switch being so very underpowered. I cant wait for the day where we can play all 3 of these games at a HIGH resolution and 60 fps. Imagine how glorious it will be. I get tired of looking at vaseline, and being a pc gamer who actually cares about the quality of my games (console fans tend to just accept anything they are given no matter how bad) so im very much anticipating that day to come.
And it will almost surely never come. You don’t care about quality games- you care about quality looks. That’s why I don’t like most of you PC gamers.
