You have done something crazy that we envy and have never dared to try, and we applaud you. This wise, bold, and crazy exploration contrasts sharply with the fear of coming to China for the first time, it's so funny

    When I was working in Shanghai 12 years ago, my office was right in the heart of the city. I visited some of the most expensive restaurants and hotels, but the new ones are even fancier and pricier. I remember going to the restaurant on the 101st floor of the financial center tower, where it cost us over $1,000 for six people-and we didn’t even order much. Today, it would probably cost over $2,000.

    In fact, if we calculate based on purchasing power parity (PPP), China's GDP is larger than that of the United States, making it the true number one economy in the world. As China's financial center, a significant amount of wealth is naturally concentrated in Shanghai!

    • @yujixiaolin4085

      In China, as long as you don't do anything illegal, you can do whatever you want and enjoy any freedom without any danger or police investigation. The United States says that you cannot legally smoke marijuana, you cannot own firearms, and so on, so you have no freedom! I can only say that the United States is a paradise for wealthy people to indulge in various free lives, and a hell for those without money. To put it simply, China is a country that combats drug use worldwide. Just a few days ago, the marketing president of Volkswagen China went on vacation to Thailand to smoke marijuana and brought a small amount of drugs back to China. He was found at the airport, detained by the police for 10 days, and reported to the German Embassy in China. After 10 days, he was expelled from China. The German Embassy did a lot of work to China but could not change the result. Recently, it has been a hot news topic

    Very good video👍 one thing that you might want to know, In general, Puxi is traditionally richer than Pudong, especially in some old urban areas such as Huangpu District, Xuhui District, Jing'an District and Changning District, where many of Shanghai's historic financial institutions, business districts and luxury residential areas are gathered.

    I went to explore Shanghai Center Tower too last Sunday. Massive and fancy. I got excellent views of both banks of the Huangpu River from 119th floor. Everything such as the TV tower became dwarf. The only issue is the uncomfortable feelings in my ears brought by the super fast lift.
    Overrall, Shanghai Center Tower is crazy and really worth visiting.

    • @YOLO-Wild_Child
      @YOLO-Wild_Child หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The main reason why super-fast elevators make ears uncomfortable is the change in air pressure. As the elevator moves up and down quickly, the surrounding air pressure changes rapidly. The Eustachian tube in the ear usually regulates the pressure balance between the inner and outer ears, but when the air pressure changes rapidly, it may not be able to keep up, resulting in blocked ears, swelling and pain, and even temporary hearing loss.

    For a posh hotel it's actually very, very affordable if you compared to those ghastly old hotels like the Savoy, Claridge's, The Ritz, The Mandarin Oriental etc... in London, in fact it is a dirt cheap bargain !

    Pudong is nice and new, but also kind fo sterile. Puxi has a lot of old money and much more character. The former French concession area is great for strolls and feeling the vibe of the city.

    22:09 😂Shanghai is MASSIVE. If you lived in Shanghai you would literally have to live across the street to do those evening runs you mentioned. The area you’re in now is one of the most expensive areas to live (comparable to New York City Manhattan area, but nicer). Also since you’re visiting during a non-holiday there are not a lot of people. Never ever go down there during a major holiday. You’ll immediately regret. I did it once not knowing any better during my early years living there. Anxiety overload 😅

    We did the same in Xian, best thing in China is they are very considerate and not too conservative concerning the cloths one wears.

    Old Shang Hai Pu Xi was the British Concession b4 , chinese people could do the business at day and must left at night. How ironic yeah, chinese people couldn't stay at their own place in their own country. It was a huge humilation of china. we kept the old and build the New Shang Hai Pudong face to face, seem like saying to all the intruders, come again if u dare!
