Excellent instruction Steve. Swing out to right side of fairway (to left side for lefties) and let the club face close really gives the golfer the visual he/she needs. I can see now that the target line and the swing path are not one and the same. That was not completely implanted in my pea-brain head until this video. Mucho thanks. Ben

Hi Steve Just watched one of your older videos from 2018 where you asked for people to share tips. This is the best one I have For when your swing goes nuts on you. From watching Mr X. Keep your right elbow glued to your side. It will help make a good turn, keep your elbow pointing down and it will bow your left wrist making it easy to drop in the slot with a smooth release. A flying elbow is the worst thing for hitting poor shots!
Jack Griggs Yes sir I do believe that’s the secret to making all the protocols work The last video I put up with Matt Gray he talked about that I’ve been using that as you mentioned and it makes all the difference Appreciate you chiming in and being here Thanks
Morning there biggin. I wonder if looking at trail foot ball position as a trail ball heel position as a better explanation.keeping lead shoulder from spinning out defiantly toughest protocol for me and the last thing I check before pulling the trigger.all those years coordinating face closure with it getting to the ball.and my clubface is a little open after setup for straight to target flight with my grip and release.im pretty busy but I need make some time to get over and meet y'all in person someday.cheers
Nat McIntosh Playing the ball of the back foot is the objective and if someone likes to feel it’s off the trail heel well that’s just fine The point is off the back foot The lead shoulder is a tuff one to keep closed for sure and for me seeing my target on the ground and behind the ball and getting lost in it helps keep my 5 o’clock body in place and my lead shoulder closed Id love to get together with you one day when you can find time Thanks

This is essentially the same as the swing used by trick shot artist Harry Frankenberg starting back in the 1920s except he locked his wrists down into maxed out ulnar deviation and extension in lead wrist at impact with face squared to target then allowed the hands to turn over resulting in a very high swing plane in his finish. The snapping down action of the wrists in his swing style results in a burst of acceleration before impact not experienced in the conventional sweeping swing style used since the 1600s. The underlying physics of whipping the club down around the hands is more similar to the action used when hammering a nail, chopping wood with an axe or cracking a whip and is an action I discovered both Ben Hogan and Moe Norman also had in their swings when learning to duplicate their grip and swing styles.
Jim Siverts Jim there a line across the target line we all have swing across and the line is the line we all have to find because there not going to be the same Find that line and release the club on it Thanks
Jim Siverts I don’t think I answered your question….may I try again Jim…the stance and I’m presuming that your talkin about your feet line? Your lower body can be positioned to the way that feels comfortable…what’s necessary is the shoulder line and your torso That’s what’s so good using CL…the protocols create a consistent ball flight and the way you use your body to set that up is good You can have your feet open and backcock to your target line if that’s the desired ball flight your looking for and the same for being closed The CL swing starts it and you have to finish it … it’s all good Sorry for the late reply If I can help you more 😊👍 Thanks
Hand position at address......Originally it was recommended that the shaft should be vertical (over the ball) at address .Given that my irons are offset with an inbuilt forward shaft lean logic suggests that the hands need to be ahead of the ball at address so as to ensure that the bottom edge of the blade sits flat on the ground. The degree of forward lean is dependent on the club selected ..ie a sand iron would be maximum say . I do seem to make much better contact and implementation of my "Dante Backward Wrist " with a forward shaft lean and as such I would appreciate comments from yourself and other subscribers. Thank you

Ross Kretschmer Hi Ross , This is something i plan on addressing soon and clear up some of the confusion. I will have a lesson soon on compression and position of impact. Cheers
i am confused on the part about center of gravity behind the ball because the ball is so far back, out of your frame. I can't get it back there in my swing.
Flash Don’t let the word center gravity get in the way of just feeling after you back cocked that the ball is now in the center of your body Center of gravity or more proper …balance The ball stays off your back foot area but looks and feels in the middle If starting the ball off your back foot is a problem …just move it forward a little until your more comfortable The more the ball is off your back foot the easier it is to swing inside out Never go past middle with your ball position Hoped that helped but if not then we will try again Any time is a good time
I’m assuming the club face pointing at the target with an in to out swing is just a feeling rather than what’s actually happening as those impact conditions would give a shot starting near target and moving left of it 🤷♂️
tatchy1001 It is a feeling because that’s what’s going on The ball will start right of your intended target with the in to out swing path and draw back to the left for a right handed golfer…you are correct Channel Lock is a consistent ball flight delivery system …how the face of the club is arranged with introduce the type of ball flight curvature Oh by the way…you can if needed hit a fade with CL 👍 Hope this helped Thanks
@@bayougolf7524 Thanks for the reply but I’m struggling to understand why the ball would start right of the target with a club face pointing at the target as that would start the ball at the target and move left. A draw has to have the club face open to the target line (to start it right) but closed to the in to out path which puts the tilt axis on the ball resulting in the draw
@@tatchy1001 Have you tried the Channel Lock swing with the club face lined up to the target line and if so how did it work out for you? As you know the ball flight will tell you what’s going on and if adjustments on the club face to acquired what we’re looking for then that’s what we have to do If you take your trail palm and aim it at a target and swing inside out you’ll notice how the axis of the ball will be altered to create a right to left ball flight The best classroom is out hitting balls … man what we can find I know I do Thanks
