Anyone can get smacked or hit. What does that prove. You know that there are laws and one can't always beat people when one wants to.

What will you do if people strike like normal people do, frenetic, launching punches, throwing themselves at you instead of slow, straight punches?

When he do bong sao standing in front, you can hit for sure. Just extend your arm. Because bong sao in front is wrong.

Ah i dont know...huan from outside to inside is dangerous. Couse he can hit u very easely. From inside to outside is good. I think

I expected better from Lam Sifu. Complicating something extremely simple. Circling his Huen from outside to inside... then to outside again as seen in the first example is over complicated and a waste of effort. Controlling the center line only to give it up again... He knows better than this.

Min 2:18 - apart from chunners, who would hit in such an awkward manner? The technique 'worked' because the chunner was awkward.

First, it's not direct application, it's about the idea of making things easier by changing from inside gate to outside gate, basically shuting down more than half of your opponent.
Second, of course people hit in a straight line, a boxing cross for example, in this case though you can also imagine someone trying to grab you and ask yourself: what's the easiest way to deal with him after you stopped his hand, stay in front of him, his forward motion, his natural weight and his 4 limbs ? or changing your relative position and taking him offline ?
      Hope that helps!

Explaining "some important not all" Huen Sao concepts in 3:30 seconds, well done! To an audience, without editing, that is not in his native language, Well done! As a a living example for those, such as myself that are able to see his genuine profund knowledge of Wing Chun, thank you sincerely sifu, I am eternally grateful to you!!!

This is an awful example ! Why you would give your opponent so much energy allowing his arm to come over yours is beyond me. Your opponent could have hit you at any time in this poor example of Wing Chun !

Master Gary Lam demonstrated how to redirect energy from your opponent hand that come in different direction. Very effective!

4 year old comment but let's talk.
The thing is Sifu Gary was under but had already cleared past the elbow whenever he goes under.
Even if the opponent got plenty of power or energy, there's no where it could be projected to.
