    48 read 49 write 46.5 copy and 74 ns latency.
    Only downside being the SPD flashing part 😂

    why is it so important to disconnect the battery before changing the ram?

  • @ediju2816
    @ediju2816 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I have a question. Which is better for performance in terms of gaming for 32GB Dual Channel SODIMM (16x2)? Single Rank (1r) or Dual Rank (2r)?

    • @dimaswahyuuuuu
      @dimaswahyuuuuu 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i think it's maybe too late to answer this comment but here's the answer: single rank is always better in any condition, single or dual channel configuration. explain: cause the data don't need to travel to all the module on the other side

    Thanks for the detailed test. Unfortunately, an important parameter is missing. Only the new RAM was tested with a resolution of 1920x1080. The comparison to the old Ram is completely missing here, although according to JerrodTech there are the most significant differences. Perhaps you can still insert the missing reference value (Bench. Res. HD + old RAM)?

    • @Meanpooh
      @Meanpooh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thanks! The main test was just for native res, I just threw the 1920x1080 in for the heck of it and will just show others if they use this resolution what they would get. Trying to do this over would take an extremely long time as this is not my full time job. I may do it sometime in the future when I get some time. Thanks for the feedback LuckydieLuke. 👍

    questions: why the resolution adjustment values for range 2 are different from those for range 1, that is because you get better results, because even the direct X in range 2 is configured in full HD and in those of range 1 it is configured in 2K, Not to mention the ripple of the signal, in rank 2 it has a lot of "noise" in the graphics and the same rank 2 I see that the GPU works slower, but that is due to a different configuration, not for the ram of rank 2.

      The video is simply to compare 16Gb at the native 2560x1600 resolution to 32GB at native. The 1920x1080 resolution is a throw in for people wanting to know. I hardly run this game at 1920x1080 unless its requested. The 3rd column can be simply thrown out. You are over thinking. Keep it simple.

    I’m trying to upgrade my Legion Y530 to 16 GB ram. There’s an option for 8GBx2 and 8GBx2 single rank. There are no dual rank options for singles like 8GBx2 dual rank for example. I would like to have two ram sticks so that I may have dual channel memory. Or can I achieve that with a 16GBx1 dual rank ram stick? I’m sorry, I never knew RAM has different ranks. Thank you.

    • @Meanpooh
      @Meanpooh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can achieve Dual Channel by using 2 RAM modules of any rank. Just get the RAM you want and try to buy them in pairs so that there are no possible incompatibilities. 2x8, 2x16. Dual Rank will cost more and IMO is not worth the price when compared to the results. Hope this helps.

    its all fun and games until you whip out the FC5 bench...imo all those cells of ram....esp in vulkan games ive seen a lot more "shared" core activity in my system now that ive populated all my ram slots. But i have a desktop. The temps instantly jumped up in FC5 all the ram cells populating and being accessed constantly by the amd processor. There are a few other singleplayer games that occupy quite a bit of ram Battlefront II is pretty nuts, fallen order a few others can easily get up to 20+ for me depending on howmuch gpu/memory you have. In the case of a laptop it could add a lot of heat. It ultimately comes down to if you need it for editing/rendering purposes. 16gb is usually enough for most gamers unless youre playing 4k/21:9. I was able to see 25gb in battlefront II on 21:9. Easily past 16gb of ram utilized with an 8gb gpu on 21:9 ultra settings on most AAA games.

    Why does my laptop run all the way up to 100c the CPU speeds don't go lower than 4ghz . Once the laptop hits 100c it goes down to around 95c when the fan speeds up finally . I've been able to use the Lenovo fanspeed utility online that I downloaded to lock the fans to 100 and I'm able to push the fans 100 percent then the temps go down another 5c . But performance doesn't improve . Still kind of annoying though right I've even repasted it and it's all the same basically I used thermal grizzly keyonaut . I think maybe they should of used a better cooler in the legion 7 vapor chamber would of worked better along with liquid metal could of made this laptop ultra silent .

      It’s really hard to diagnose a machine when not in front of me but hitting 100C tells me there’s something else going on. Leaving your fans on max at all times is not good and will cause premature wear out. I’m sure you have checked but is anything blocking your intake vents? If you have an Intel version you look into undervolting. The 5800H never gets that high and sits between 70-90. Try getting a laptop cooler which might help a little bit. What is your room temperature? My environment is between 70-72F. Room temps play a big part.

      Yes it will but it depends on the game. Some games will jump up 20 FPS while others will be within 5 FPS of each other. Also you have to think about cost. Is it worth buying the RAM or is it better used on a fast NVME drive?
